Snow is an excellent thermal insulator. One of the warmest, quietest nights I ever spent in a tent it snowed about a foot. Covered everything. I had to make sure the tent remained vented, but even with a bit of fresh cold air coming in, the interior of the tent warmed to 50 or 55F,, and quiet,, utter silence. I got stuck in Tahoe Donner a few years back ... more than 6 feet of snow in a weekend just before Christmas. When we shoveled the driveway, we were tossing it out well over our heads. A canyon of snow. Higher than the roof of a Chevy suburban. Snow nearly covered the tops of street signs. Snow covered the windows in the house... a house that was already 3 feet or more off the ground. Beautiful to look at. But an enormous amount of work to shovel. Took more than a day for the plows to show up on our street.
Kudos to you bro. We just got hit with about 4 ft here in Erie PA and it was a struggle to get me and my wifes car out of the driveway. To put yourself in this position and have the strength and courage to get yall out is amazing!
Wow! Man, you are a good sport to do all the grunt work, shoveling ALL the snow the ENTIRE time. Get your list together for the next time and check off those snow pants!

Hello, Everest. You’re back. I missed you. We missed you. I was always checking my notifs for your update. Thank you. And Hello also to your lovely Lady❤
Eyyyy, you're back! I heard about that storm when it was about to hit the west coast, and thought to myself, "I wonder if Everest is going to get out in there and camp?" AND SURE ENOUGH!! That was a heck of a storm! It looked like you were nice and cozy in the van and had a very nice supper indeed! Glad you got in and got out!
That is a lot of snow. I grew up at Lake Tahoe, one winter we were out of school for ten days, we loved it, but we had no power. It was January 1964 near Echo Summit. My mom was going crazy having all of us cooped up in the house, we couldn't see out the windows.
Wow, what a workout! The one thing I thought of through the entire video was what's your heat source and was there ever a danger of an exhaust getting blocked by the snow? I thought that would be an important topic in a van in a deep snow situation.
Loved this video. Reminded me of being back in Montreal. I do have to disagree with you though. I got out of that much snow many times and never had 4x4 or tire chains back then. Mind you, it snowed like that multiple times a winter and we had lots of practice. Thanks for all the hard work!
I just looked you up yesterday thinking surely I'd missed a post. There's no way you wouldn't be out with this atmospheric river hitting the North West. Glad you are back and looking forward to a great season.
I was thinking to do an awning type thing over 1 side of your van, tarp on top then attached one tarp on side more like a lean to, just to help with accumulation aspect. Ya wight of snow will make it collapse at some point but better than nothing.
