- I LOVE shooting film with artificial lighting anywhere - whether it's indoors or outside. In this video I show one instance of how I like to light an outdoor photoshoot on medium format film.

is it just me or is life better ever since linus started dropping weekly??
my mental health has never been stronger
I think one of my favorite things to watch is other photographers and how they interact with their models, thank you so much for showing this side of your work. I can't wait to see more

Daddy coming in with the heat
YESSIRRR
I feel so inspired! Great work, Linus! Keep them coming! Btw also one of my favorites was the one with his hands holding the fence and the other one is on the stomp with his hands lit with red.
thank you so so much for watching!! those are some of my favorites too.
I imagine that angle as Willem looking at all his homies.
the exact angle he be looking at me with
Really enjoyed this video! ❤
thank you so much!!
Love the process of filling light and using the sunset as a backdrop so much
such a really calm, peaceful video! i love it when u just go out and create, always so inspiring 🥺
Linus, you've been blessing us with lots of videos and inspiration lately. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

i’ve been in a rut with my photography for months and your videos have really light my spark back up!! thank you for these :)
This was fantastic! I love seeing how you compose your scenes and choose your lighting. Inspiring stuff and hope we get to see more. That said, I'll take any Linus I can get!!
I'm feeling inspired! Thank you for the energy
Love the pictures from the last roll when it got dark with the spotlight on the two of them, first one where the sky was a bit visual and then where it was completely dark around as well!!👌🏻
Another great video! I love the mix of artificial and natural light!
I totally love your videos, instructional, inspiring and mainly a great way to be entertained with the stuff I like, I got curious about the dj light though, please bring more vids!
OOOOFF, go off lighting and colors look so sick! lovee this
Love it dude , so awesome , thanks for sharing and inspiring
Increíble. Últimamente me siento tremendamente inspirado por tus videos, qué bueno que te encontré.
damn dude these came out absolutely crazy, the ones against the fence are inSANE, AND THE ONES WITH THE DIRECT RED LIGHT AND HES ON THE STUMP, THESE ARE CRAZY
Was peaceful to watch. Loved the music voices for thy video to. The guy being photographed reminds me of a musician from 70s to 80s
Super nice content! I´ve subscribed a couple days ago and I´ve being loving each one of your vids, super nice how you scan and treat your film, right now just moved to Spain so I´m kinda looking for places to develop and scan my film the way I like it, in the mean while checking on your content, keep up!
my dog linus 🤙🤙 these videos you make are a huge help and inspiration to me in my work! Appreicate these brotha man!
Da fresnel on that 120d II is so frickin useful and really look nice on those portraits ❤
You're just too f**king cool man, loved the vibe of this vid
so sick

♥
🤍🤍
😍😍
heyyy
Excellent video
Great work! The photos and the channel :) What about using tripod (and longer exposure) and reducing the power of the lights once the blue hour is finished?
I’m going to start my YT channel and this was definitely some inspiration
hey love the video! was just wondering what diffuser is that on the Aputure?
Great video! Do you mind explaining how you're metering for these. Just for the fill light you're using or for the ambient light?
👏👏👏
Brb gonna get some DJ lights
Love these Linus!
Can I ask how did you meter for these dark shots? My novice approach would be to incident meter with dome pointing towards the camera from near their chin but I'd love to hear any suggestions!
keep it goin
Amazing video as always! Question for you-what made you go the continuous light route over flash? Thank you!
flash would have been great for those first photos, but i really enjoyed being able to visualize it in the moment! and then the photos when it got darker - definitely wanted to play with mixing the red light and my key light and if you use flash you lose all of that.
@@linusandhiscamera I’ve been debating on switching to continuous light to do more creative lighting, but haven’t found many photographers talking about it on here,or they’re pushing flash for portraiture.
Love your content, and thanks for answering.
Beautiful! Would this work with a pentax k1000?
absolutely. keep in mind that it’s 35mm - so it won’t be as “high res” as medium format, but the K1000 is a fully mechanical camera just like the Pentax 6x7 so as long as you meter your film properly you’ll be just fine!
@@linusandhiscamera I am thankful for your channel! Thank you! Can I not buy a lens to make it "high res"?
@@iamlethibehe’s more so referring to the film itself! 35mm film is inherently “lower res” than the medium format film he’s shooting with. But with the proper lighting, you can adjust the exposure to a lower iso for less grain
Linus that 120d light was so effective/didn’t need to be plugged for outdoor use, which exact model is it?
What light is he using on the ground?
Linus, every time I have tried to do anything with red lighting it always comes back scanned as this ugly yellow. Any ideas how to prevent that? I’ve tried it with gels and rgb, I can’t figure it out. Even when converting my own scans of it with NLP it comes out the same yellow.
First shoot: 800T, amaran 200x with red gel
Second: Portra 800, aperture MC
yyyuuuuuurrrtttttt
first!!
What power source did you use for the aputure light?
Oh, i watched till the end! Sorry 😂
What is the link for the other light?
commented too early in the video lol
I wanna believe that the angle from the beginning was planned to put the Uzi video!! Tell me I´m not wrong cause I´ll be pissed if it isn´t 😭
what are you talking about??? i need context!! 😂
@@linusandhiscameracinestill 800t?
is this creative tho?? because this red light blue hour thing has been going on instagram for a very very long time
so true!! u right
Nice vid bro! maybe ill buy the dj light haha like it
