It's an ad guys. Its obvious as soon as he describes the screen quality as "of such sharpness and crystal clear clarity that it is simply impossible to ignore" . The screen quality is poor and has been critizised almost universally.

I have watched this review a couple of times, it is excellent. I have a T14s AMD with the 8/16 Ryzen 7 and 32 gb of RAM and the 500 NIT touchscreen display on the way, to be delivered to me any day now.

@@memaniacs I thought sure that I had successfully completed a reply to waytothewill a month ago when he asked me for my impressions on the T14s Ryzen that I have. Not sure what happened with that.
I am over the top happy with my T14s. Maxing it out on the specs (RAM, Screen, backlit keyboard, etc.) makes for an extremely good performing traditionally solid Lenovo laptop. I use mine docked most of the time with multiple displays and peripherals doing a lot of photo and video editing and no project I have ever been working on even makes this unit breath hard. It runs quiet and does not get too hot.
It is an exceptionally nice piece of computer gear.
I also got the Lenovo external battery pac that eliminates running out of juice while mobile (traveling, etc.) and the nice high quality Lenovo carry sleeve.

@@dgibbsfl dave, thanks for the quick reply, i was looking for this model but pull my feet back thinking about the heat issue, The model i filtered out are, all ThinkPad by the way, E14 gen3 amd 5, T14s amd 5 ( this is on sale now ), T14 and L14 amd 5, ( i removed it as it has screen brightness only 250 max), I know before buying you did some research, Can you share some of your thoughts, if you don't mind, Reply whenever you have time, thanks once again 👍🏻

    • @dgibbsfl

@@memaniacs after looking at a lot I arrived on Lenovo as my platform of choice given it's history and build quality. The keyboard, trackpad and trackpoint (the little red nub) were of particular interest because I had heard so much about it and seen so many over the years. The backlit keyboard option far exceeded my expectations. Once you get oriented to the keyboard you realize they thought of literally everything.
After looking at the dizzying array of Lenovo models for a couple of months I decided to go with their traditional Thinkpad platform. The rest of them just became confusing and I knew of the Thinkpad reputation and history along with the ruggidized build quality. Then I arrived at the screen size I was interested in and I kept coming back to the T14s and that form factor with the 500 NIT touchscreen availability covered that base for me pretty much. The look and feel is incidentally very satisfying.
During my research I became aware of the Ryzen 7 Pro CPU with it's own Radeon graphics integrated. They say the Ryzen Pro is the most powerful CPU on the market and I can tell you that the Ryzen 7 with 32mb RAM not only does not overheat, it pops with performance no matter how many things you have open and running.
When I arrived at learning the Lenovo T14s was available with not only the AMD Ryzen 7 chip but also a 500 NIT touchscreen (very very handy along with the trackpad when working portably) it became an easy final decision to max it out to the 32mb of soldered RAM because that was a one time decision (no upgrade path after the fact) and I figured it also served to future proof the computer to a certain extent. I don't plan on getting another laptop for a very long time.
It is a sturdy little always ready, fast startup hotrod that plays very nicely with Windows.

Dont get the Intel version if considering this, get the AMD version which is far better.
And how can you even say that a 4 core cpu is any good, compared to an 8 core or 16 "logical" cores?

Intel does have the two key advantages over the AMD variant; It's got TB3 and doubles as a heater.

I got the T14s with AMD Ryzen Pro 4750, 1TB SSD, 32 GB Ram and a 400nits low power display for 1399€ . I think this offer is out of this world! :) If you say decent config you're probably talking 256GB SSD, 8 GB ram, Intel CPU. Allthough the X1 does weigh a little less. That's the one thing it has going for it.

Built Quality, Thinkpad Keyboard, Professional Service for the device if anything goes wrong. XPS is for the everday Consumer, Thinkpads are for Business Users who rely on their devices on daily basis and can therefor afford to spend more on it in order to have it work continuous.

I have one and it is a piece of crap...I "stepped down" from the smooth functioning zen book which sadly (like this one) uses the cheap and insecure USBC...the minute you (or even a cat) bump it...problems...constant usb connect/disconnect...tried so many times to fix nope. Bought another and had the same issues then the keyboard died...I am disabled and utterly depend on these machines for work and social world. They were wonderful in so many ways...routinely ran an older MMO while listening to news, had 15-25 tabs open, photoshop working, flicking between all...well. Spent ANOTHER 2,000 plus for this machine HOPING to get back to work. Takes weeks to get the programs sorted out and working. I hate this machine. the location of the Fn Control and Windows is moved and the right keys are different too, so I am constantly messing up on that. The, it lags INSANELY with just the game (gw2) and the news on if EVERYTHING else is closed.
Here is the deal...we have had computers a long time...they should be like cars...you get one you keep it for 10 years, because the more you use it the more efficient you get. AND YOU DON'T NEED TO BE A MECHANIC to use it! STOP the constant change! This thing runs very hot, and the lags are so bad things freeze up a lot...so does photoshop (offline use). It simply freezes and I have to totally reboot 4-5 times a day. Programs CONSTANTLY interrupting me which should be illegal as a lot of us are adhd. So many things to say but this is the gist of it.
I am a USER not a techie. This should be like a car and work perfectly for two years unless recalled. Ugh.

@@neelsn007 I did not regret it at all. There is really nothing I can complain about, other than I originally wanted to use it with ubuntu, but I had a not so great out of the box experience like a laggy and tearing screen, keyboard hotkeys that wouldnt work like brightness etc. Really sad but I hope that Lenovo will bring their drivers to Linux soon as they announced. So now I am on Windows 10 but I love it nonetheless. I honestly never enjoyed windows 10 so much on a machine. So I'm very glad. I recommend it. Btw, I went for the 1tb, 32 gb ram special model with no os installed. They charged only 100€ more than the 500gb, 16gb ram version.
