Hi Ninja. Can you recommend your top 3 Lenovo Think Pad Laptops ?
Good video. Please try to zoom in when showing the inside if the laptop
It's a very good laptop , good battery life , fast and well built. 16 GB 512 SSD .
The biggest difference between the E15 and E16 is indeed the screen, but you won't go into it further. The biggest difference is the aspect ratio: E15 = 16:9 (1920x1080) vs E16 = 16:10 (1920x1200). This way you have more vertical space and you have to scroll less often. The different ratio of the screen means that the E16 has slightly different dimensions than the E15. However, it hasn't gotten bigger or smaller.
I did list the resolution, but yes, that means the aspect ratio is also different. Thanks for bringing it up!
Hows the keyboard compared to the t16
So HDMI 1.4b... Which means it's not possible to get 4K@60Hz on an external monitor, right? I'm really leaning to get this laptop as it's on sale in my country, but this might be a deal breaker for me.
Hi dude, I got E16 for recent days, but there is an issue due to the small electric current noise around CPU thermal components, hearing that the noise would be from chip inductors or mosfets , does anyone meet same issue ?
Which one is better, E16 gen1 17 or T14 I7 Gen4... I like bigger screen but which one I should take . Im using to install VMware using different software for IT and cyber security courses
Thanks alot
Where is the hard reset button located on this model? Not underneath like previous models.
What is a battery life in simple tasks (like watching videos etc)
Anyone with an Intel based E16 Gen1, there are no full-sized SSD options, only the 2242 sized.
You're right! We just figured this out for ourselves today!
I have the Intel version. SSD is very expensive. 274 euro for 1 tb.
@@jean3142 we installed Sabrent 1TB cards. Only $99 at Amazon (US) right now.
Is there a light on the number lock?
Is the quality worse than for T16?
On the Lenovo website the T16 Gen 1 costs 2000€ while the E16 costs 1000€ with similar RAM, storage, screen and battery. The main difference I can see on paper is in the CPU, but that does not justify this price gap!
nope, the T-series is overpriced cause they historically sold more items. Pricing on Lenovo website has nothing to do with actual quality.
Hey man whats that palmrest feel like? Is it metal or plastic, or that rubbery stuff they were putting on ThinkPads for a while that made it look greasy?
Aluminum, but obviously painted. not tacky or rubbery
Actually if you custom build, you can choose between aluminum or plastic
I’ve been told by another reviewer that the keyboard deck on the E16 is plastic but a good quality plastic with a nice feel. On the CTO site, the option for an aluminum bottom only pertains to the bottom plate/cover, not the keyboard deck. So only the lid and bottom plate/cover are aluminum.
@@Agtsmirnoff If you are customizing the laptop, it gives two options for Base Cover Material - PC/ABS and Aluminum. Which is better?
@@shiftenterspacebar I only have the aluminum one, but I have a previous gen E15 laptop with plastic, so I am assuming it is the same as would be on the E16. The aluminum I believe is lighter, but I feel the plastic actually feels better to the touch and make the laptop feel more robust and durable
Just got this laptop a few days ago, cracking performance. I was wondering, for Uni reasons I will need to install the other M.2 in the coming week. Do I need to apply thermal pads to it so it makes contact with the chassis? If so, what thickness?
Check the documentation of the M.2 and see how much thermal it needs
It is not completely necessary, but if you want to, 2 mm should work
You need to change camera lens. The distortion of this lens is HUGE
It's a gopro, and yes that causes a lot of parallaxing
I am thinking between this one, and i5 1335U, but 24GB RAM. It is 37$ more expensive.
Which one should I go for? Benchmarks seem better for single core for the i5, and the 24GB RAM is good.
Both should treat you well. More RAM never hurts
I would like to buy this laptop but my burger just allow me to purchase it with intel core 5i I want to use it to study architecture . Dou you believe it works for me ?
yes
Does the usb-c port has thunderbold for my lenovo dockingstation 40AF
No, it's USB, not Thunderbolt on the E Series
@@ZipTieNinja if you get the intel model then yes. I have the e14 gen 5 intel and its a usb c 3.2 and a thunderbolt 4
100 % Rgb or 45 % ntsc ,
Ugh, they still have the function and control keys swapped
You can swap them in the bios. But yes i understand that pain
Can u upgrade to 32 ram ..
yes, up to 40GB
Can anyone help me regarding a decision to make between Thinkpad and Thinkbook ? I want my laptop to be more reliable.
I've had good success with both, but I think I would stick with a ThinkPad
Ms office?
You cant get the MS included in one of their options
Nothing includes Microsoft office anymore. It can always be purchased separately in additionally
I want to teach online can u suggest me a laptop for this purpose
The keyboard isn’t as good as thinkpads of past. Not bad by any means, but not particularly good!
In what way? I don't think it's very different than the last four generations...
@@ZipTieNinja Less travel, not as much feedback, the keycaps themselves are more shallow. I use this side by side with my old E590 and there is a big difference
@@Agtsmirnoff I’ve been using an E420 for 10+ years and I love the keyboard. Lenovo has just launched ThinkPad E14 (Gen 6) and E16 (Gen 2). I plan to buy an Intel version soon. I’m considering the 16 inch laptop but I’m not sure about the typing experience on it. Is the 16 inch keyboard as good as that of a 14 inch model?
@@shiftenterspacebar
Again, can only compare to the older E590 (not E15) model I previously owned. And no, the keyboard is not very good compared to older Thinkpad keyboards. Still good but is noticeably worse than previous gens. Smaller keys, slightly less travel, not as nice to type with.
AVOID Horrible new keyboard and the battery life is very weak, about 3 hours working. I've taken the computer to the service twice and it is not even 1 year old. Built is also pretty bad.
I think you just got a lemon. We've sold several and have none of these issues. Thank you for contributing though!
