I like how this version of Norman is still evil as fuck but *does* show compassion and love for his son. Comics Norman wouldnt give his soldiers a non-letgal order on Harry. He'd just kill him and take the symbiote himself
That's actually a problem of modern comics, Norman in the original comics run was hard, but care about Harry, in fact, when Harry overdose, he push everyone he through was to blame for what he was going through (Peter, MJ and Gwen) and push for him to get the best help possible.
Norman care too much about Harry in the original comics, the fact that modern comics ignore this, speaks more of the problem of what happens with long running series, how character can become more caricatures of what they use to be, and one of the multiple problems that modern comics face, but not the biggest one ironically enough.

I wonder if Peter could just give Harry the Anti-Venom suit. Peter said that unlike the other symbiotes, it had all the power, but didn't try to take over his mind so it'd be perfect for Harry since it would cure him of his illness and he would keep his free will.
I think Harry had permanent damage after wearing venom for so long. So idk if Anti venom would work. Moreover its different from comic books. Here it only heals from symbiote, but in comics it could heal anything.
I think the suit is tied to peter, i don’t really know. ‘Cause, if he could have, peter would have given the suit to harry at the end of the game.

"Deppressed Spider-Man" meme from Web of Shadows still beats the entirety of this dualogy :D Otherwise I am really happy with Insomniac adapting Venom and the way they adapted him. Venom was always such a core character to Peter's emotional struggle, making every story with him just better.

I don't think that was venom. I think that was Grendal the first symbiote in existence. The meteorite had a red spiral, the symbol of knull. The Klyntar are a peaceful species save for corruption due to bad hosts and venoms motives in the comics was always to ve a hero and just thought spider-man was the villain. This whole take over the world shtick was the way of the ancient Klyntar, the ones under Knulls control. Meaning that venoms wings might be more then just an one off homage to the comics, but a sign of what's to come

Eddie in the comic got it to cure symbiotes and CANCER he got this suit specifically to cure his cancer because venom left him.

You got a point, he's been stabbed before plenty of times and is able to self heal such wounds, why this kills him is kind of ironic and confusing, but ngl I'm just happy to be able to officially play a symbiote Spiderman game again. Web of shadows is always a favorite though.

and now, the roles are reversed ; because now it's not Harry that hates Spider-Man for the loss of his father, but now Norman, who hates Spider-Man for the loss of his son. and instead of the new Goblin, we're going to get the Green Goblin. this story has woven the villains together perfectly and in such different ways, while keeping the spirit of what came before. A+ Insomniac, A+.

I still can’t figure out why people think Harry shouldn’t be Venom. The narrative has quite literally shown us that this version of Venom was created specifically for Harry. They spent years (not really only about 2-3 in game years but still) incubating together. It makes perfect sense that the symbiote feeds off of his hatred for Norman. Still feel like Eddie Brock could become the Venom we know and love; just in a stand-alone game, the sequel to Miles’ game, or most likely in the third game.
I think it would be crazy if Eddie didnt become Venom especially considering they went straight to showing Knull’s symbol in this game. The character of Eddie Brock and his personal relationship with the Venom symbiote is the core of the Knull storyline.
What makes Harry a great character is his struggles with his own demons, such as addiction and trying to escape his father’s legacy as the green goblin. Take that away, and you don't have Harry Osborn
Same goes for Venom. He isn’t just some big monster using it's host as a meat puppet. “WE” are Venom refers to both Brock and the symbiote and their mutual hatred of Spider-Man. Take that away, No Venom. I really enjoy insomnia take on the character but this is terrible, you can tell a new and original story without changing the core of what makes these characters special in the first place.
I wanted Eddie to be Venom (since Eddie is bigger, has a more intimidating, uber-manly presence. While Harry is very complex and his need to appease his father does make him very sympathetic, at times the way he's often written he sometimes comes across as unintentionally pathetic at times (kinda like Kylo Ren)) but I already knew and accepted that that wasn't going to happen after the stinger from the first game.
@@toxin4609be honest, you haven't played the game. You just watched those clips didnt you? Eddie brocks origin story is soo lackluster. Harry being venom makes totally sense especially because there is no one else who has more backstory with peter than his best friend himself

With Eddie venom is essentially not over his Ex and is using Eddie to get back to Peter because it’s addicted to him, so he wants him to join. With Harry Venom is literally talking as Harry, thinking that their mission is to still save the world but the suit is what will do it.

Fun fact in my school vr game, there's a cut voice line and interaction between Harry and Venom pacificly the fact that he betrayed Knull which actually explains why Knull was out of the camera vision but in the same room during Scream boss fight while having the Knulva rifle which is the most powerful weapon in the game (it has the meteorite attached to Armoured Core 6 fire of rubicon handler walter boss Coral rifle as a power source and Goalius got the idea after Shinnok Amulet from MORTAL KOMBAT)

That's actually not too dissimilar to Norman and Peter's dynamic in the comics after Harry died and Norman returned. Though Norman was worse towards Harry when alive.

I wish they didn't end it the way they did like if they had kept Harry conscious and he got arrested for him being Venom he could have encountered Martin Li in prison leading to the build up with Harry as Anti-Venom for a potential DLC where he loses control or becomes Agent Anti-Venom leading to something that could involve Harry as Anti-Venom being the cure for Carnage as Miles and Peter would realise they aren't enough with Carnage being free from the Humanity Harry had.

Harry should have died being pierced by Peter's punch neutralising him instantly, yet they had to leave him alive.... I hate it when they set him up to die only for the opposite to happen (creates false tension, in retrospect you feel deceived), plus Harry should have permanent/irreversible brain damage (permanent coma basically).
The ending of the first game was much, much better, more impactful and more emotional; Dr. Otto Octavius is still the best villain in the games and in the movies.
