I agree. I think it was definitely 1 bounce, but all the clay he flicked up with his racquet head may have confused the umpire into thinking there was another bounce. That's my theory anyway

The framerate is too low to be 100% sure. I don't see the ball bouncing twice in any frame, but from physics standpoint it seems strange that the ball jumps so high of his racket if it didn't bounce twice.
The chair is Eva Asderaki.... not Mariana Albes who was the chair in 2004 match with Jennifer. Mariana was removed from the WTA tour long ago !

That wasn't even close, it was obviously one bounce, it wasn't even a hard run for Ernests, he timed that deliberately, tennis players know if they'll make it there comfortably or not. And bad umpiring, she watched him play the shot, looked at Raonic's next shot (hit the net), then he complains to her, and she suddenly calls it not up. Fucking nonsense.

It did bounce twice using Federer's reasoning. Since the ball came back with top spin, that means he it on the rise from the second bounce, as opposed to slicing under the ball if it bounced once.

Like in any sport, the best players are the ones who maintain focus on the task at hand. I thought that Gulbis got it on one bounce, but regardless, you have to move on.

No federer said it was coming with Top Spin thats different. This was not a double bounce what happened was the racket hit the ground at the same time as the ball and this can create the illusion that it bounced twice, maybe even the sound as well.

What a baby. It's one thing to lose one point but his tantrum cost him the game and probably the set. Bad calls happen on both sides and umpires are not perfect, I thought players understood this.
LMFAO. What are you even talking about. Bad calls don't happen on both sides, they cost people matches. That's why Hawkeye is going to be more and more prevalent so players aren't getting screwed as much, and people like you can't justify their screwing.
well she's a person, people make mistakes and doing what she does really isn't as easy as it looks on the telly. i suppose thats why she hasn't been been laid off, either because they can't find a proper replacement or because the higher-ups have determined that she's deserving of a second chance and we're not best positioned to judge. this was a very close call, even in slow motion i can't quite determine whether the ball hit the floor twice or not

sorry but that ball did hit the ground for a second bounce and you can see the effect of the spin imparted as a result when Raonic hits into the net because of the spin.
