Gulbis was a real threat in Nadal's way on even clay in 2013. And shortly again in 2014. To me, Gulbis's natural ballstriking with loads of heavy spin on the ball with a lot of kick is just a rarity.

Ernst Gulbis , for me is inarguably the TRUE GOAT. Gulbis was deadly in All aspects of the Tennis Court.
I knew i witnessed an absolutely superb , Tennis surgeon all-around . My gut feeling about him was right.
But Gulbis was a hot-head. If he made a mistake,he wouldn't forgive himself. He was definitely not stable. He was the best i'd SEEN.
But, now, it's Nole all the way.

@@WivoRN oh my mistake! I meant to say the one in this tournament! Roland Garros 2014. Thank you for uploading that one as well though! In that tournament I don't think Gulbis had eagle forehand yet.

Yes there are two version of my video, one of Gulbis beating Roger in Rome, and older one of Gulbis beating Roger in RG 14. Both - with pretty much the same title- can be found on the channel! Sorry for the confusion

wtf I just saw that ’Gulbis’ means ’Swan’ in latvian and his unorthodox forehand technique is jokingly referred to as ”the eagle/swan forehand”

What is this "real goat" nonsense? Ernest Gilbis wasn't the only payer in history who one year seemed undefeatable, only for their wheels to eventually come off and they would never seem so unstoppable again? Why? Because other players figured them out and countered them, and they had no answer to that. So, sorry, you can only be the goat if you can do your thing and win year after year, no matter how others try to counter you - like Fereder, Nadal and Djokovic did.

Let's not forget that Gulbis also defeated Berdych at the 2012 Wimbledon.
