There is a animated video done in support of the Phoenix trust a charity supporting those with aids and health education. This was set up by the band and the still manager Jim Beach after Freddie's death,I think it was something discussed with him. They have raised millions for the cause, what a positive result from something so tragic. That video always makes me cry 😭 as I've seen many reactor do too. X
Gawd! Who hasn't been in this position at one point or another. One person needs to move on and the other person is so in love and so content in the relationship. Breakups are so hard and Freddie had such a hard time finding true love in his life, his career and fame getting in the way of a healthy relationship time after time. This song really pulls at the heartstrings, it is so beautiful and emotionally wrenching at the same time. Queen was a band with equal input by all members so it stands to reason that their solo projects would also reflect some of the same characteristics as Queen had.
Freddie had difficulty finding romantic love, but Freddie and Mary Austin (the woman he often referred to as his common law wife) loved each other from before Queen made it until the end of his life.
I’m actually GLAD that you didn’t react to the official animated video that Queen released a few years back: I almost never watch it because it makes me so SAAAD. (The video animates/represents what would happen to AIDS victims and their loved ones left behind when they passed away.)😭
This song is about more than a break up. If you watch the video, whoever made it interpreted it to be about HIV. You can see the virus and the partner trying to save his lover. It is truly a heartbreaking song for Freddie and also for those who have lost, truly lost the love of their life
I love this song .. The animated video was released on September 5, 2019 (Freddie’s birthday) on RUclips to promote the Never Boring compilation album. According to Peter Freestone, in his book Freddie Mercury: An Intimate Memoir by the Man Who Knew Him Best, the song was inspired by Freddie’s relationship with Austrian actress Barbara Valentin (who is featured in Queen’s “It’s A Hard Life” music video.
Nobody could sing with such emotion like Freddie Mercury. 😢❤

Freddy was very unlucky with partners until his very last partner who stayed with until Freddy passed. 😢

I'm happy, that you choose the lyric version, because I don't like the video, which gives a whole new meaning to this beautiful love song.
