    Freddie was living in Munich when he made this. He had a loving relationship but his lover would not leave his restaurant and move to England. He moved on to Jim and stayed with him for the rest of his life.

    This video broke my heart the first time I saw it. I'm so happy Freddie had six years of true love with Jim. This animation was made in 2019 on Freddies birthday to raise awareness for AIDS.

    Hey Pat - This is a beautiful song written by Freddie for his solo project. To celebrate what would’ve been Freddie’s 73rd birthday the song was re-released with the video which was directed by Esteban Bravo & Beth David the duo behind the Oscar-winning short film In A Heartbeat. It pays tribute to The Mercury Phoenix Trust a charity founded after Freddie’s death by Queen & Manager Jim Beach. “We wanted to tell a story that was relevant to Freddie’s life, but not explicitly about him. PERSONALLY, I THINK THE VIDEO DISTRACTS FROM THIS BEAUTIFUL SONG PENNED BY FREDDIE!! But that’s just me! 😁💖👑

    Agreed, In My Defense is amazing. It's from Dave Clark "s musical Time, as is Time Waits for No one. Dave Clark, formerly of the Dave Clark Five. was a friend , so Freddie agreed to do a couple of songs for the show. This song is one of my favorites, it runs through my mind along with many others. Freddie forever!!

    Love Me Like There's No Tomorrow is from the Mr Bad Guy album released in 1985 and only had a lyric video, this version with cartoon was released in support of the Mercury Phoenix Trust aids research in 2019. On a personal note, I prefer the lyric video, because when you listen it's about a relationship break up and the cartoon bears no relation to the lyrics, just my opinion and that some will disagree.

    • @joan783
      @joan783 3 года назад +3

      In many ways I agree, the video is great on its own and the song as well. Barbara Valentin always claimed this song was about Freddie saying goodbye to her. Who knows.

    • @debramoore7513
      @debramoore7513 3 года назад +3

      I agree with you Joanne - The lyric video is more enriching & emotional. The cartoon seems distracting to me!! As for Barbara Valentin …. Don’t like her much and heard that Freddie pulled away from her after suspecting she was telling untruths about their relationship!! I don’t doubt that they had a carnival type relationship (the media called her the Queen of Nudity) but I think she wanted more from Freddie …. At least that what Barbara’s daughter said. Hmmmmm

    • @joannedarley1893
      @joannedarley1893 3 года назад

      @@debramoore7513 Oh, I'm glad that you didn't like her too, she always came across to me as using Freddie. Her "fame" was in decline and I think she tried to boost it by feeding the tabloids with lies. I do believe like you that they had a platonic relationship and she wanted more, Freddie was in the middle of his affair with "damn" forgot his name, the German chap that didn't speak English, was it Willi?. Barbara was their interpreter, nothing sexual, Freddie thought she was a friend, until he didn't and after refused her calls.

    • @debramoore7513
      @debramoore7513 3 года назад +1

      @@joannedarley1893 There’s a reaction video with “home videos” of Freddie & friends at Garden Lodge. There’s a part where Freddie is showing the guys a huge bathtub/jacuzzi he has in the bathroom. You here someone say something like “you should have Barbara see this”. And Freddie comments “I don’t think she can fit in here!” 🤣

    Just like so many of the big things that happen over the course of our lives we tend to push the hard times away. The AIDS Crisis was the big and hard thing that was before 911. I remember the very first time I heard about AIDS, in my science class in a tiny Oklahoma town in the early 80’s. I also remember where I was years later when the first cocktail was introduced as a cure, or at least it slowed down the progression of the disease, and the cocktail was hard. There was nothing, absolutely nothing, about this disease that was not 💯 difficult. But those years in between we lost people, we lost people close to us and we lost famous people, it was really difficult and it went on for a long time. And it was stigmatized, people were shamed, they actually would say on the news that so and so person got AIDS from a contaminated needle, to attempt to deflect and avoid all of the questions about who had the disease and actually how they got it. Looking back it still infuriates me. It was that bad and it was that horrible. I remember telling my daughter in 1998, listen you don’t even need to know about the private lives of people, if they choose to keep it private or even if they don’t, but you need to realize that some things are hard, some things are unavoidable after the fact. Always, always, always keep your humanity about people, no matter what. Never shame, never avoid, look them in the eye and love. Because you cannot possibly know what they are going through and they don’t need you there judging them. Ever. Always do your best to understand. She was 10 years old. You are correct, Freddie Mercury was a man before his time to write and sing a song like this. He was very brave, especially when you put this in the timeframe with what was going on in the world. It was needed and it is very necessary. It transcends time as well, no it isn’t AIDS now, but we have other things going on and being life, we always will. Thank you for your reaction, I cry every single time I watch this or hear this. Because you remember what you should never forget. ❤️

    It's okay to cry, it doesn't mean you're not grown up. I'm glad to see younger generation men who can cry, in the past it was squelched in so many men and even boys. This animation paired with Freddie's powerful, moving vocals makes for a tearjerker. Freddie's voice speaks to me and so many others like no other. No words to describe what he could do with a song.
