Love these "things i dont like" vids on the 2 series... people find the tiniest things because theyre just so good.
I bought a m235i a few weeks ago and everytime a mate said "hows the new car?", i say "i love it". He must have got bored with that response and eventually said "what dont you like about it?"... i was stumped, took a min, then said "the sun visors are small and cheap feeling, and the window controls are on the other side from my e46."
You know you found gold when thats the worst of the complaints!
What’s your wheel and tire size setup? And is it staggered? I have the xdrive version but have been looking into some larger wheels just not sure what’ll fit
Please, could a owner of a m240i tell me if it's pedals shake a bit when the engine is started...

Do you still question if you should have got a manual e92 m3? I think that would be one of a few cars I'd move from the zed for.
Great vid! Mines a 2017 Pre-LCI that came from factory with carplay. Strangely with adaptive I find comfort too soft and spongey and sport too firm. Although I am on factory wheels and tyres.
What year is it
Having had mine for 4.5 years here are my opinions:
1. Exhaust is a bit puny, but it adds to the Q-Car qualities of it.
2. Apple CarPlay was an option when I bought mine new in 2016, but it was £230 so I didn't bother with it, even though I got most other options and I am fully plugged into the Apple ecosystem.
3. No idea on the B Pillars, maybe your seat is too far back??
4. Steering never moves.
5. I'm on stock 18s with adaptive suspension and the ride is perfect, even nicer than the ride in our E91.
And for anyone buying one, ditch the MPSS tyres and get PS4, much better.
The 19s have ruined your ride.
Hello. Does your m240i's pedalier shake a bit when engine is started? I mean just for a moment when the engine is making its first roaring. Thanks.
My X5 has the automatic moving steering. Its really annoying that my Z4 and E46 dont even tho both are optioned out quite nicely.

my 17 m240i, has the apple car play compatibility. i believe it depends on how the car was spec.. but i do know there are aftermarket upgrade you can do to the idrive to get it!
1 . ride quality - very very soft and bouncy on any road
2. interior - depends what your used to i suppose. last car was MK3 TT.
3. stock looks - needs imo a better diffuser - maybe spoiler etc
TT is more of a ladies go-cart ,I really dont think the 240 is soft or bouncy ,but most women will look at it only to check their hair!!
@@waynemitchell2131 I had a stage 2 TTS. A super cool hard man version. It's very very soft and bouncy if you drive where I love. B12 time

I have car play on my ‘21 m240i, and it is a bit finicky to be honest. Overall love the gray though, mine is mineral grey as well :)

You should be able to purchase Carplay with BMW connect... at least in Australia the F22 LCI comes "Carplay ready", just need to buy it
here in belgium too. you can also try it for 1euro for a month.
What model year is it? Mention that always. Very important
I actually prefer a manual reach/rake adjustment in the wheel, but I suppose if it's a shared car then having memory/electric adjustment would be useful. Great vid 👍

Great video as per usual, still loving my M240i so if these are your personal top 5 things you ‘hate’ then the car is bloody amazing and I would also agree with that statement. My gripe is definately the apple carplay thing you mentioned. Keep up the good content nonetheless!!!!

Hey Joe,its a nice car you there,yeah sure there will always be minor things we don't like about our cars,but I'd like to share this with you,your an individual in your own right,unique to everyone else,now make your an extended version of you,you got the basics dead right by starting with a good fast car as a base,a bit of imagination and you will have something to be proud of,it took time to get to your twentys, so take your time and choose Wisley,im fast approaching 60 and I still got the bug mate,time is the master mate.....

I had a 67 plate per-LCI M240i and my car was spec’d with Apple CarPlay - it WAS an option that could be added to the car’s specifications.

Cars looking a little plain on the exterior mate. Just a suggestion but maybe some dark red small body piece accents to match in with the interior. Was thinking car would look good with some dark red wheel bolts and maybe wrap the bars behind the grille if it has them. Catch u on the next 1.

Don't be annoyed about the exhaust. It's a small car and they are big enough. The noise from Lukes at Hampshire photo is overkill. Also the rear bumper is what it is as I'm sure you know its not an 'M' car.... Its an M sport.
Hi Joel.Electronic steering adjustment would probably annoy you more if it went wrong.At least with the manual adjustment you wo'nt have that worry m8.

Most annoying thing about this car is that I had to remortgage to get it,second most annoying thing is trying to have a decent argument about remortgaging with the missus after she takes off her seatbelt (ding ding ding)dont want to invalidate or risk a years warranty with using Carly,most annoying thing is that the exhaust can't drown out the sound of the missus still moaning 2 days later ,I can live with the 23mpg and everything else is brilliant 😜
Your car is an LCI 2 - comes with the touchscreen and iDrive 6 so apple car play should be easy to code in

Dude you go from 40 series tires to 35 series tires will mean harder, more feel of the road. Lowering 25 to 30 mm will have a huge impact to ride quality. The 240i RWD in manual already lowers 10mm. Again you’re doing all this in order to Feel the road more. Apple Car play is in add on option to the Premium Enhanced Package which it appears you have. The bigger knob and full size screen confirms the necessary package. Not sure if you can go back to dealer and have service dept add it on or it has to come from factory. There was a factory option to add $1500 Performance Exhaust with bigger and longer tips.

But the electrically operated steering wheel is a downside to many other cars, since it's SO much slower to operate. Wouldn't you just want the ease of going plop bing bang, and you're done!
Honestly not really. I feel like there's more precision on electronic, and having saved memory profiles with steering wheel adjustment is a cool feature. Reliability probably goes to manual though.
u can actually have carplay on m240i. u can go to a bmw dealership and ask them to retrofit it.

Y does no1 talk about how slow they are top end after 100mph they so slow
Great video! The only annoying thing im finding with mine is some kinda of whine in 1st and 2nd gear when building the revs. (2k rpm+) Also when reversing. Cant be heard unless driving in silence really but... bmw have told me is a "characteristic" be interesting to find out if you also have this? Or anyone else in these comments for that matter? And no its not the mrs.. 😂
The low profile tyres are a nightmare for ride quality.
You should re-review the drive quality with normal profile tyres one day.
Best move I did was change from the standard run flats on my e91 and got some Michelin super sports, good all rounder 👍🏼 ride quality has enormously improved!

Where there is light, there is always shadow. What really p###ses me off with my Z4? When it rains, you CANNOT open the window even a bit. Water will drop on your arm and the door panel all the time. Or try to use the wipers on a really wet windshield when your door or window is still open. Splash!! Hey, I already took a shower before! :-D
Lmao yup it’s a feature 😂. That’s why I keep a microfiber towel in the center console so I can quickly wipe all the rain off the interior
But why would you want to open the windows when it's raining?

@@macstone9719 I just don't understand the reasoning? Opening windows just introduces wind noise and so much more. The only time I'd want open windows, is by the beach in summer driving slowly. The whole driving with open windows is weird to me!
@@TheDerpyGrandma The water is dripping INTO the car even if the window is just opened a tiny bit to breath fresh air. Its a serious design flaw of this car. In Germany we use to drive like that alle the time, sorry.
The most annoying is the fly tipping in the background. A nicer place to film next time 😉😉😉

You can have it coded in for lifetime use
With any coding u must remember not to use the ERASE ALL obd feature if u get an EML come up after you've coded or some or all the codings will also disappear and you'll have to redo them.
Never understood why some people spin their heads sideways to see whats at side of vehicle when changing lanes and likes of, just use the mirrors thats what they are there for, if your having to spin your head round then you clearly haven’t got your mirrors set up properly and eventually your going to cause a accident because of taking eyes off road for too long almost breaking your neck and be like a owl

@@itsjoel and why do you have to twist your neck when you can just move your eyes to look in mirrors, if you cant see whats at side of you by just looking in your mirrors then they need altering
@@ryanlongley5052 I don’t think you understand what a blind spot is? Every car has a certain blind spot that will not be visible in your mirror, hence turning and physically looking in certain situations

@Ari Awan reason I asked because of the price difference just for 10kw extra but did more research and the b58 seems way better
Something to be said though about the 235 being a better drivers car
Bought my (2015) 235 for just over £15k with 31,000miles on it. Similar spec 240s were going for around 20-25k...so prices definitely favour the 235i. As for the b58 engine..yes it's newer and had slightly more power than the n55 but I think that's the only big difference
