- The Quest 1 and 2 use the same lenses (as far as I can tell) so this repair will work on both.
In the video you are seeing my first attempt at performing this procedure. Through the magic of editing, I can show you what I learned.
There is a small amount of evidence left of the old scratches still visible but just barely. Although there is risk of lens warping if I keep going, I think one more go would be okay. I've decided to go ahead and leave it be. I can't see any scratches or scuffs as I use the headset. It looks quite clear!
As mentioned in the video, do not use on any lens with a protective coating. For example, the PS4 VR headset has an anti-glare coating, if you use the secret polishing agent on it, the coating will react and make things worse.
If you don't have the polishing cloth, using a microfiber polishing cloth for polishing out scratches with the polishing agent should be okay. I didn't notice at first the polishing cloth leaving all kinds of itself all over the lens. Once I hit it with the microfiber it got rid of all that.

Thanks man I used your tricks and ways to do this, any other video just showed adding it and removing it, not stating the amount of pressure you had to put I had minor scratches and the first time I added pressure it worked out perfectly!
Thank you for taking the time to tell me that!
Did you find that it made God rays in VR after doing this?
Guys, use the polywatch on the WHOLE lens, i used the polywatch just in the scratched spot and now it has a "distortion" effect on that spot :( it is better than the scratch but its not the better result and it is kind of annoying.
will this work on scratches you can feel? I have a scratch on my oculus quest 2 lens on my left side and it is a very small line but on one of the ends of the line it has a small dot scratch that i can feel with my finger and i can see it inside my headset like it was a small flake of dirt on my glasses or something like that.
Edit: I would like to also ask did you get a smudge effect after you applied polywatch? Ive seen some reports of people saying they have a smudge effect after they used the product.
Loving these type of vids
Dude you can move your hand really fast lol. Always good information on your channel!
i honestly hope this is a joke, as i can't tell
@@cartererwin9539if bro really thinks this is real either he’s young or just stupid or smoking pot
Don't know why it's not working on my PSVR
Is it still work for quest 3? I use glasses only 2 hours and have nice scratch at the middle and its blurry at the middle of the screen…. And i just stop using glasses ye
I can't say for sure if it would work or not. I assume if the glass doesn't have a protective coating on it, then it may work.
Again, I don't know for sure on any of that.
Do not do this with Quest 3. You will permanently ruin your lenses!!!!!!
Will this work on the meta quest 3 since the lenses are different?
I do not know if it can atm.
Does the cloth come with the single tube of ploywatch or do I have to buy the cleaning kit?
I got mine (tube) off ebay and I made sure it came with the cloth. It'll definitely work better than the glasses cleaning cloth due to the material. If you got nothing else but that though, it might still work.
Loving these videos, thanks
Right on!!
Does polywatch damage your lens
It got the scratches and scuffs out. It will damage lenses that have any kind of coating on them. Oculus lenses do not so polywatch will work.
Would a glasses cleaning cloth work instead of the polywatch cloth?
does it work on pico neo 3 lenses?
It won’t if the lenses have any kind of coating on them. Quest 1 and 2 have no coating on them.
I have no idea what the Neo 3 uses.
@@RetroFix If my lenses have this coating, will polywatch ruin them? or just will not work? I'm affraid to making them worse
It makes them worse from what I’ve seen.
@@RetroFix Oh, got it, thank you for answering me, I'll try to apply it next to the border, if my lenses have this coating, it will not be ruinned completly.
@@viniciusgames4481 let me know how it goes! 🤞
So polywatch really worked isn't?
It worked very well. Just needs a lot of elbow grease.
@@RetroFix so just keep at it?
@@bobbyknuckles7988 make sure it's mixed up well and not too watery. You gotta press down firmly as you buff it quickly. If the scratches are too deep this won't work.
This is basically good for light scratches and scuffs. You can try a few more times without worry. Hopefully it will start to come out.
WAIT!: What the frick. I just did this to my PSVR 1 lens to practice on an idiot scuff on my PSVR 2. All this crap did was make polishing swirls in my lenses. The scuff is still very visible. Thank God I didn't do this to my new headset.
This is only for Oculus or any headsets lenses that do not have any coatings on them whatsoever. PSVR headsets have an anti glare coating or something like that. Polishing it will make it worse.
does this work on quest 2?
this will work for the Quest 1 and 2
@@RetroFix Is there any coating on quest 2 which will be effected by it?
Is there increase of glare or god rays after applying this?
Please note I live in a country where it is not possible to get a replacement lenses. So my quest will be destroyed if there will be any issue after applying it.
@@furqanirfan2676 If there was a coating, this repair wouldn't work. It would actually make it worse. You are safe to try this procedure. There is no coating on the lenses for the Quest 2.
I haven't noticed any increased glare but what would you rather have; Scuffs and scratches all in your way or some glare?
As with any DIY repair- Weigh your options and attempt at your own risk.
