It is so amazing what you are doing... very few Colombians will get a motorcycle to go to places nobody knows...Actually, that part of Colombia is controlled by paramilitary groups, which could be very dangerous. There have been cases of people getting robbed and killed on the main road. You are way too brave or you are just oblivious to the problems in that area. However, it is nice to know that people are able to go to these places. Most Colombians know how dangerous it could be around the Santa Marta area, but perhaps we need more people like you to go to these places in order to made it way more popular and perhaps not so dangerous as it can get sometimes. The natives carry a special gourd with lime made with sea shells in it. The lime controls the amount of alkaloid absorbed from the Coca cud they chew. The older the native and the more revered, the more the lime built up on the rim of the gourd from the dipping stick. See the gold museum for pure golden gourds.

I’m from Chile and I’m grateful too because I understood more of the English subtitles than the Spanish audio jajaja
I am glad I came across your videos as a Colombian with all my fears about where I can go in my own country. . I hope you are having a great time in Medellin.... I have been living in Medellin for around 4 months and I love it. Take care of yourself.
I knew very well that that area could be dangerous however why would that stop me from going there? Death? Fear is a sickness my friend. Cheers!
@@KurtCaz that "yolo" mentality of yours makes your videos interesting, here for us in Colombia we cannot afford a "yolo" mentality. We know how hard it can get.. for us colombians, violence is not like a metaphysical thing that will never happen to us. All colombians had some violent dead in their familias or friends. The "yolo" mentality sounds like a very western kind of thing but I guess it is ok. Anyways, it is precisely for your risk taking mentality that most of us are watching your videos, someone must go where nobody wants to go. I hope that nothing bad happens to you ever but I guess that if something ever happens to you, we will never know. Take care, you are a good man...
That area is even safer than cities like Medellín or Bogotá. I know because i've lived in those cities several years. Greetings from Santa Marta.
@@Yayo24-c7s I also know the area very well and I also lived in the Caribbean area. I agree with you in some respect but there is a lot of paramilitary activity that if you are living in that area should know. They usually don't bother tourist because is bad for their business. However, it is also a pathway for Venezuelan immigrants and you should know that as well and I bet you are aware of the social problems that bring to Colombia the situation in Venezuela.
That place is the heart and lungs of Planet Earth brother no paramilitaries can kill the spirit of humanity but we need to do more!
Man, I can't believe you did that ride in flip flops with one hand driving.
The adventures of the Coca Bros!!!
You are actually respectful of people and don't turn it into some poverty safari. Interesting shit without being arseholes, well done.
KURT THE LEGEND IS BACK!!!
Yesss sirrrrr
🙏
Who the hell would give this video thumbs down???
Right now this is easily my favourite thing to watch on RUclips.
Kurt seems like a really cool guy would be amazing to be able to join you on some of your crazy adventures!
I agree
Definitely need a part 2 further up those mountains!
Agreed, but I am already amazed that there are paved tracks in such a remote and undeveloped area.
The white powder from the shells makes quick lime that makes you absorb more of the active alkaloids in the coca leaves, that’s why they take them together.
Dude, I am Colombian and this is amazing, you have no idea how lucky you are, when it comes to meeting this tribes
Why ? Is it frowned upon/illegal to visit them ?
That guy was so nice, should have asked for a few kilos
Hahaha I don't think they would get far with that amount 😅

It is so incredibly awesome that you show all of us these different parts of the world. These people are so precious. I would be so honored to visit these places and meet all these amazing people!
The Kogi
Kurt is definitely living dangerously, but because of that I learn more from his videos than I do from any books or movies or TV programs.
yeah plus im wondering what he meant by "I don't believe in that" after meeting the indigenous girl. Doesn't believe in the pandemic? IS he an idiot?!
Yes Kurt! Straight to 100k Subscribers, that was super rapid bro, love you just grabbed some old shitty motorbike and learnt how to ride, no messing about or being a fanny. Top travel content out there, you don't waffle about buildings or history, you take shrooms, look for coca, look for birds, drink booze. Legend
Nothing more exhilarating than discovering what you’re looking for, then discovering what you weren’t looking for.

Kurt bro you should have gotten a motorcycle that has some shocks in the front LoL 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wow, what a channel, what a life!!! Thank you Kurt. I would never see this places with out this videos, but I want it so much
I have been binge watching your videos for the past few days- they’re so interesting!! I think it’s so cool and amazing that you do this. It’s like the stuff we see in movies, you’re actually going and experiencing.
It’s crazy to think that all of this is in our world. So many different places and people. Ugh I want to travel!!
exactly my thoughts, i’m from Bolivia where there’s similar style of living but never actually experienced it before, since I been living in Finland my whole life.
I need to get ahold of these guys I am in northern California would love to have a new connect
Exactly what I was thinking!
I wish i could watch ur videos 😬
Absolutely fascinating. The country is beautiful and what a river - perfect. It's like going into a different world. Thanks.
Kurt…you live an amazing life my friend!! I have travelled the world and thought I was doing it correct. I have been proven wrong. What you guys just did can not be improved upon. Meeting that man was a God send…being at the right place (or wrong…interrupting their ritual….oops) at the right time and then being welcomed and given gifts. Absolutely amazing! Safe travels and I’ll keep watching! Thank you
You two came across a real gem 💎 and what are the odds this guy would find you guys and give you a short tour guide!
I’ve watched a lot of your videos and this was probably my favorite. Trust me Kurt... your channel will grow.
I'm sure I'm not the only one yelling shift it in my head. Lol

You’re lucky. I’ve already watched most of his videos😭😂
Now my third year😂😂
Dude those crazy shades with the helmet is hilarious. I couldn't ride with him like that. Every time he looked at me I'd be dying laughing, probably wreck my bike.

This is my favorite video from Kurt; two gringo’s on bikes, searching for Coka haha!
So the guy on the motorcycle runs the local operation and the indigenous people are the workers basically. I'm sure he answers to bigger bosses. Incredible where Kurt ends up.
please don’t travel with that attitude ever

I’ve been binge’n all your vids man and I have to say this one is my favorite. Looking for the indigenous ppl then the way u found them with that guide. And the way they live is just amazing! Thank u for this
Dude's riding a bike with no license like a chad but the real OG is the indigenous dude with smart watch and adids hat 🤙
Kurt certainly isn't the brightest bulb in the chandelier, but maybe that's what makes his videos entertaining. Might have spent 30 minutes learning about the Kogi before hopping on a motorcycle and tooling into one of their villages out of the blue.
As a person who has rides bikes don’t wear flip flops 🩴 😆
Good advice rite there brother 😅
Also Wear your helmet lashed to your head ha ha
This is such raw and unfiltered content. just recently discovered your channel and its great mate!
Wow, Kurt, your Spanish has come a long way from this episodio! Your videos from Venezuela have you speaking very fluidly and with quite a large vocab. Well done!
PS - Yo tengo mucho espanol y ninajua Kiswahili vile vile kwa sababu nilikuwa mwalimu katika Uganda kutoka '68 mpaka '70.
This video is something else, man. What an adventure!!!
If that Bike owner sees the video then he is not going to rent the bike again to Kurt😂
Seeing your vid in my recommended is the best thing in my day Thanks for uploading mate (:
I don't like sea food either, I thought I was alone.
what an incredible video. thank you so very much for sharing your adventures.
Thank You
I seriously couldn’t piece it together
Wow! Very interesting information. Thank you so much.
Or in other words: they turn the coca leafes alcaloids into cocaine.
@@shakeweller " coca leafes alcaloids" ARE Cocaine, the lime just helps release it into the person's system.

@@giuseppec.956 “just as cocaine. I don’t know if you’re used to it.” “Perico” is sort of a slang in Spanish for cocaine. The word perico also means parrot, relating to the way the bird eats to the act of inhaling cocaine through the nose.
