Almost every video from Kurt I see I figure the video's too long and I don't want to invest the time. Then 40 minutes later I feel like I haven't seen enough. Every video is like that. the mussle shell powder that they store in these poporos has its purpose: it is a source of chalk, which, combined with the coca leaves in your mouth makes a chemical reaction, that makes the effect way stronger than If you chew the leaves as they are. The Quechuas and Aymaras of Peru and Bolivia also make use of that chemical reaction betwenn Calcium and the Coca leaves; and instead of mussle powder you could just use regular baking soda. For the Wayú people of la Guajira-Department, obtaining it from the sea mussles obviously is the easiest source, as their territory stretches way up north to the carribean coast on the venezuelan border.

Best thing you can do for them is give them space let them live. You're conflating your want's needs and values with theirs. The absolute best thing we can do for them is do everything in our power to keep the United States out of their government and country.Having spent a large amount of time in South and Central America I've seen first hand the damage done buy our government, corporations and senseless war on drugs. Then when they flee the countries we have been destroying for the last 150 years and show up at our boarder we treat them like animals. Every citizen of the USA should be a shamed.

What i gather at the 25 minute mark is that he gathers clamshells or 🐚 shells then he toasts and pulverizes it. Then he gathers hardwood ashes and boils in water to produce a lye solution. Then he drops the clamshell powder in this alkali solution and boil the water away leaving behind this lime powder, though i could be wrong on the exact process. I learn something new everyday. It is so amazing what you are doing... very few Colombians will get a motorcycle to go to places nobody knows...Actually, that part of Colombia is controlled by paramilitary groups, which could be very dangerous. There have been cases of people getting robbed and killed on the main road. You are way too brave or you are just oblivious to the problems in that area. However, it is nice to know that people are able to go to these places. Most Colombians know how dangerous it could be around the Santa Marta area, but perhaps we need more people like you to go to these places in order to made it way more popular and perhaps not so dangerous as it can get sometimes. I am glad I came across your videos as a Colombian with all my fears about where I can go in my own country. . I hope you are having a great time in Medellin.... I have been living in Medellin for around 4 months and I love it. Take care of yourself.

@@KurtCaz that "yolo" mentality of yours makes your videos interesting, here for us in Colombia we cannot afford a "yolo" mentality. We know how hard it can get.. for us colombians, violence is not like a metaphysical thing that will never happen to us. All colombians had some violent dead in their familias or friends. The "yolo" mentality sounds like a very western kind of thing but I guess it is ok. Anyways, it is precisely for your risk taking mentality that most of us are watching your videos, someone must go where nobody wants to go. I hope that nothing bad happens to you ever but I guess that if something ever happens to you, we will never know. Take care, you are a good man...
