For those people who said he goes cheap with the people, As a Colombian, everytime he spends somethings and coverts the currency about how much does it cost in US dollars, He ALLWAYS, as far as I have seen actually gives people like twice the price in Colombian pesos, without even bragging about it.... keep it up bro, you did a wonrderful job on showing people the real Colombia, not only fancy and glamourous cartagena but how we struggle but still try our best to keep my beautiful country and diversity as good as possible.

I love watching your videos and feel that me and you are quite similar! One of the traits my friends complement me for is my ability to become friends and blend in anywhere I go. I have been in plenty of dangerous situations, however I have never been in any trouble. I know my luck is going to run out at some point, but I will enjoy every moment until then. As long as you know you havent done anything to escalate a situation you are good. Just being open and accepting towards other cultures gets you a long way and there is definitely a level of respect from my side to you for being a good representative of your own culture and being able to appreciate other cultures. Thanks for being you and giving us the honest truth about your experiences. I value the honesty a lot.

Actually Colombians are very clean, I have been in Bogota, Medellin and Santa Marta everywhere I saw they keep there places clean, I loved it.
To be honest, specifically in this beach in Cartagena they do litter a lot.... I’m Colombian and hate it

those guys at the end were LIT! this is a part of why I love Latinos so much its always a great time! No matter where you go, I'm form Fajardo Puerto Rico and it feels as if I could go to Colombia to have the same fun I would have with my friends in PR.
Kurt: I don't know why people say traveling to these places is dangerous.
Also Kurt: I've been strip searched by the police. If I don't have a camera I get seriously harassed and groped. Gotta make sure I haven't been mugged by those 2 ladies just now.
That's why. Not everyone has great de-escalation skills. I hate being touched and having my personal space invaded by strangers who want to scam/rob/mug me.
I’m American. In America, police shoot first and ask questions later. Politicians and law enforcement are just as corrupt. Our justice system is flawed. We have ghettos too. We have thieves and murders like any other country. The point of his message is, there are bad and good people everywhere you go but you can’t let that stigmatize culture and good people. Be kind, but smart. Fear is a sickness.

same things happened to me, they just wanna touch you and feel your arm hair, cause Colombian guys don't usually have hair on their arms, very open these girls, but sometimes you gotta wonder what's their agenda... catch a rich fish... that's why most of the times, you play along but then move on like he did without any further involvement, funny how he immediately thought to himself whether they pickpocketed him haha

I think he’s got the best approach usually initiates the conversation, is confident, friendly, but not arrogant knows how to disarm intimidating people with charm and doesn’t act like he’s “ better “ or entitled like a lot of tourists.
I like how he seemlessly blends in with the locals. Always a worthy viewing.

My father used to travel all over south and central America on his business trips in the late 70's and the 80's, lots of things he brought back and I still have postcards and other books from his times there, he actually traveled 88 countries during his 35 years as an international sales manager, very interesting stories he has and much of his daily actions are documented in his diaries (1968-2018 diaries)
You need to turn that into a book my friend. Sounds like he had fun.

@@aceofspades6667 I've only read a couple of pages in his diaries so far of possible rendezvous he might have had, but it was somewhere in northern europe, it was very vague he talked about "girls and how he "paid" then, but will never be so sure as to what he was referring to, he was a very serious business man, but maybe he played hard too

Was in Cartagena in 1986. Swimming like an idiot ducking waves . Before I knew it I was being pulled out by the tide. Was beyond one of those rock piers . The whole beach was screaming at me , I couldn’t swim back in, a local ran to the end of the rock wall with a dingy on a 20 foot rope , he had one shot at me as as I was quickly being pulled out, he hit me and pulled me into the rocks. All bloodied up as well as in shock . Buddy saved my life . Emptied my wallet for 5hat dude.

scary-----i had a bit of that experience one time at stinson beach in ca.But i just stood there against great pressure-about 2 ft height of water--and then the pressure went away. I had to make sure not to lose my footing

Kurt, you are just like me venturing to different places outside the touristic areas.
Prior going back to Sweden after my failed studies in the US, I made up a tour through South America.
I ended up staying in Medellin for more than six months, because of the beautiful woman of my life.
Six years later and we now have a small family in Sweden.

I was in Cartagena two months ago. Experienced the same things. Wildest place I’ve ever been. Sat under a cabana on the Caribbean and within two minutes a woman came up behind me and was massaging my shoulders. Everybody’s working a hustle there. Beautiful place and very humbling. Simple minded people. Can’t wait to go back. Beautiful women, beautiful people.
As an introvert who wants to travel, this is a nightmare to me. I'd want to be left alone in peace lol
I am the same way. I am introverted but I love conversation and company, I just do not like sketchiness. I like honest, humble conversation about life. There is much perspective to be gained.

Travelled in Haiti alone for 7 years. Never had a problem. I was in Port au Prince and Cap Hatien as well as the country side. It was wonderful. I met amazing people.

Because they probably lack the confidence to speak to their local pretty girls so rather take a 10hr flight for some Colombian cheeks lol. I agree about your comments on Colombia being safe with some common sense. I was there 5 years ago, we were a handful of paragliders who came from our countries nad had a van and guide. We went to 5 towns in Antioquia, spent 3 days in each and 2.5 weeks flying and van touring. Wonderfully friendly people, we were made aware of anything dicey and just took advice as we moved around. Beautiful place, everywhere was historical, local and easy going. Love that place, so will anyone who just gives it a shot.
