Oi Matheus.

Was in Cartagena in 1986. Swimming like an idiot ducking waves . Before I knew it I was being pulled out by the tide. Was beyond one of those rock piers . The whole beach was screaming at me , I couldn’t swim back in, a local ran to the end of the rock wall with a dingy on a 20 foot rope , he had one shot at me as as I was quickly being pulled out, he hit me and pulled me into the rocks. All bloodied up as well as in shock . Buddy saved my life . Emptied my wallet for 5hat dude.

@DĘmon ßaßy in a way he’s right. Foreign women like American men, and guys would travel there just for that. Because they probably lack the confidence to speak to their local pretty girls so rather take a 10hr flight for some Colombian cheeks lol. Foreign women think I’m a super model but it’s not why I go to their country. The women are just the compliment of the trip. Not the main attraction.
The problem is if you are a foreigner like him and you met two girls like these girls in a country like Colombia, you will NEVER know what they really think of you, do they mean what they say or do they say what they say just because they want something from you.

I agree about your comments on Colombia being safe with some common sense. I was there 5 years ago, we were a handful of paragliders who came from our countries nad had a van and guide. We went to 5 towns in Antioquia, spent 3 days in each and 2.5 weeks flying and van touring. Wonderfully friendly people, we were made aware of anything dicey and just took advice as we moved around. You are 100% correct. I was lucky enough to visit in Brazil and I had similar experiences. Just an example, I was told there was a lot of crime and not to walk around with a Cellphone or camera. Meanwhile walking around in normal places in the daytime, everyone was walking around with Cellphones and I was taking pictures with my camera. I had no problems.
so you beat the odds that doesn't mean the stats are any different or changed the fact many others were harmed or killed. are you that simple to think only your experience makes reality? could you walk through a caged lion den and survive? yeah maybe, does that mean it's safe? no. and for you to go around saying it's OK then you're just dumb.
People exaggerate the situation in Rio, the vast majority of thefts here are pickpockets, which are preventable simply by taking care of your own stuff. More violent stuff rarely happen in touristic areas, and even when they do, it's during the night

Kurt, i came across your video at random like 2 weeks ago. I don't regret it at all. When i watched your video i go on and go on one after the other. Your video is real life & I love how adventurous you are. I have a friend who was in Canada and moved to Columbia few years ago, his name is Andre, you remind me of him. Continue the great job!
18:36 that woman was so upset when you didn't even acknowledge her haha. I think you are right, not many gringos there ever so all the nice locals are happy to see people from around the world
Civilian: Where are you from?
Kurt: I don’t want it.

Outstanding video Kurt! It was nice seeing you interact with the locals on the beach. There are some talented musical artist that you came across. No matter where you’re from, people are seeking opportunity and I can’t blame them.
Kurt: I don't know why people say traveling to these places is dangerous.
Also Kurt: I've been strip searched by the police. If I don't have a camera I get seriously harassed and groped. Gotta make sure I haven't been mugged by those 2 ladies just now.
That's why. Not everyone has great de-escalation skills. I hate being touched and having my personal space invaded by strangers who want to scam/rob/mug me.
I’m American. In America, police shoot first and ask questions later. Politicians and law enforcement are just as corrupt. Our justice system is flawed. We have ghettos too. We have thieves and murders like any other country. The point of his message is, there are bad and good people everywhere you go but you can’t let that stigmatize culture and good people. Be kind, but smart. Fear is a sickness.

Oi Matheus.
Claro hermano somos vecinos😊😂
A única grande diferença da gente pro resto da América do Sul é que a gente não fala espanhol
Super! Never seen something like that before.
Fear is a sickness. Man The way you closed this one out after being so humble with the ladies...I love it bro. Keep it up!
You are my new favorite travel channel on RUclips. You have an awesome ability to make friends with anyone and you don't seem fake or like your trying to be virtuous and self righteous like some other travel vloggers, you seem sincere.
Travelled in Haiti alone for 7 years. Never had a problem. I was in Port au Prince and Cap Hatien as well as the country side. It was wonderful. I met amazing people.
It would be a problem these days. Country is in chaos.
😂😂😂Great ending! With the music. Love it! Safe travels!!! I love your videos!!!
Definitely the craziest beach in the area!…I remember a watersports bar right next to a good seafood restaurant filled with night raves and all kinds of other adventures!

As an introvert who wants to travel, this is a nightmare to me. I'd want to be left alone in peace lol
I am the same way. I am introverted but I love conversation and company, I just do not like sketchiness. I like honest, humble conversation about life. There is much perspective to be gained.
@Chris Breezy 40% of people are introverts. Guess nearly half of people aren't actually people.
@@SourceHades I like that last idea. I'm thinking of traveling to places with private beaches/areas, in more wealthier parts of a city. However, I still want to experience local culture, just don't want to be annoyed to death by peddlers.
Its all good just don't whip out a camera and make yourself stand out like a dumbass
I'm an introvert as well BUT not to that extreme. I'd put myself out there for some of those fine women.
Emptied my wallet for 5hat dude.
ur a lucky dude most ppl arent that lucky
When a rip tide pulls you out... you need to swim horizontal to the coast... there will be another current that brings you in.
@@chiil034 yeah literally idk how ppl don’t know this but never swim towards the shore or away from it always to the sides to escape the rip current 😂
scary-----i had a bit of that experience one time at stinson beach in ca.But i just stood there against great pressure-about 2 ft height of water--and then the pressure went away. I had to make sure not to lose my footing
Good on you to bless that man!
Damn loved that moment with the dude singing on the beach. 16:00 Yea hopefully Colombia receives more tourism in the future. But economically the country is very stable. Drug money did wonders for it but I don't care lol. Hopefully they stay stable forever it's a beautiful land with very chill people.

Beating the odds
Great 🇧🇷
so you beat the odds that doesn't mean the stats are any different or changed the fact many others were harmed or killed. are you that simple to think only your experience makes reality? could you walk through a caged lion den and survive? yeah maybe, does that mean it's safe? no. and for you to go around saying it's OK then you're just dumb.
lots of fear tripping to never leave your home country... the state has an interest in you: paying your taxes
People exaggerate the situation in Rio, the vast majority of thefts here are pickpockets, which are preventable simply by taking care of your own stuff. More violent stuff rarely happen in touristic areas, and even when they do, it's during the night
