Please I need someone to help me trade or invest the forex or crypto market because I'm tired of trading in losses myself. I've blown my account twice and it's frustrating.
I take that disrespectfully, he helped the mission and he's a real cool dude who put his safety and vulnerability living there on the line showing and talking about the place he lives and helping not only Kurt but the thousand to millions of other people who are watching him chill on his grandma's balcony
This is not just a traveling vlog in my eyes. This is true journalism. Respect to both Kurt and the people he meets and travel together with. I have nothing but respect for this, and it's an humbling but enjoyable experience to watch. I don't get the impression that this is just to show off, like some (haters) claims. He has a genuine interest in the people and the stories and places that normally isn't shared with the rest of the world . Wish you safe travels wherever you go, Kurt! 👊🏻🕊️
Ya I was just thinking the same after bingeing some of his videos, this goes beyond simple travel videos or vlogging. This is like cultural gonzo journalism. He has a real skill with breaking the ice and connecting with people which allows him to see the people and locations as other travelers wouldnt. He is like a documentarian. Plus the way he so effortlessly pulls hotties is super entertaining too lmao.
Yes, seems that way. Seen some other videos of copycats going into dangerous neighbourhoods and their videos come off as awkward because they struggle to connect thus there is a tense distance between them and the interviewees.
As brazilian that live in Rio, I say to you, Kurt: This area is REAAAAALLY DANGEROUS, my friend. If you didn’t be in company this local guy, you would be in a very trouble.
That guy who guides you is a great person, a really great guy who cares about you, cares about your safety, respect for him and also for you, for all the courage you take to show us this part of the world that governments try to hide, this is incredible and scary at the same time.
Your friend in red is good at supervising, i can see how nervous he is and he is just trying his best to keep you companied and calm but he knows things are worst than how you think it is
You need to consider travelling with Pablo man, he is such a caring, authentic being and he sure would do a great job as a co-host. You guys had a strong connection.
You can tell the guy in white has been in this shit for years, everyone else is ducking and he’s just standing around like he’s God. Much respect to Kurt and the people in Brazil.
Lol ducking? The shots sounded like they were far away. These guys are at the top of a hill, them shots sounded deep in a valley. So yeh I think its just normal for the guy in white. He can probably judge where its going on and how far. Hence why he didnt duck. Believe me if them bullets were close, he would be the first one ducking. Thats whats kept him alive, knowing when to get out of the way
You’re lucky to meet this guy and have him as a guide, he did a fantastic job. This is probably the best favela video. All the others are of Rocinha but I’ve never seen one of this place before. The people seem welcoming and the vibe, minus the violence, is the type you would want to be around
@@historynetwork852 we have a little of every race in Brazil but saying it's a white country is too much. And the video is not fake at all, tbh as a rio's citizen I'm even surprised
Interesting to me that in the decades I watched mainstream television, no attempts were made by the BBC or its competition to portray favella inhabitants as human beings with the same hopes and fears as the rest of us. It's *almost* as if some in high-up positions want us to be suspicious of and fear each other so the divisions and misunderstandings remain. Bless you Kurt, you're doing magnificent work.
I've watched videos years back on the favellas... the places that just grow without real water or electricity connections. The people were very normal and clean, just poor.
There have 100% been docs on the BBC and CBC depicting the inhabitants of the fevallas as being normal people just in extreme poverty surrounded by continuing violence, one where the followed one guy and his family who sell shirts. However they also have a responsibility not to fool dumb western travelers into thinking "oh let me just go there for a good cheap time, take some drugs, sleep with some prostitutes and enjoy the culture" because the reality is 70% will be get robbed 5% maybe killed.
Lol BBC? You can't rely on them for anything. My parents are from India. If you believe the BBC they would have you believe that women don't walk around the streets, everyone is homeless, etc. They're the stupid ones who report international news on crime that happens with homeless people. Imagine if we did that to every country, you'd portray them as second class constantly.
@@SammyDwayne yeah was a bit weird but as a brazilian I dont think he would take to the hearth cuz its normal we say this type of things in Brazil between us because Brazilians can look like anything even inside a family
As a Brazilian who lives in Rio de Janeiro, I thought it was amazing how soon you visited an extremely dangerous place. Usually tourists only visit the "good part" and you look at the "dark side" of the places they visit, fully showing the day to day of those who are often not in the spotlight. Great video, represents our culture. One more subscriber.
@@Xajane02 I agree with u, but i guess that he said that that part of Rio is real culture than the things that we see in tv, internet, etc. Or the things that are exposes outside the Brazil

Pablo really is a champ. Out of the guides I've watch you (and other travel youtubers) walked around with, is just genuine real. Lot of respect to him. Love your videos dude.
Seems like a lot of young Brazilians have these traits. Both the street awareness that was mentioned but also the kindness with the ability make friends quickly. Pablo seems awesome
Man, you're brave af. I'm Brazilian and I never felt like going to Rio exactly because of the violence... You not only went to Rio, but to a Zona Norte's Favela! Awesome.
@@pablopoliglotafit1329 Just want to say you seem like such a sweet guy, your grandmother seems lovely too, may you and your family remain healthy and safe. But yeah your english is incredible. Also may I ask why you moved back to Brazil instead of staying in London? As smart as you are I can see you doing well in the Uk or here in America.
You’re guide is awesome, even him washing the glasses before pouring water or wine just reminds me of being with my family in Puerto Rico. They’re all good people and family oriented, I love this ❤
Aqui no brasil somos muito higiênicos embora a favela pareça um lugar não tão limpo. Mas para ter uma noção escovamos os dentes no mínimo 3 vezes por dia e tomamos banho pelo menos 3 vezes por dia também. Eu costumo tomar 4

As a brazilian, I admire the way you chose to show the favelas. I have seen some youtubers do videos like This that were so disrespectful and sensacionalist. You showed a side of the country most of us have never seen in person. Parabéns!
As an American from Boston, I have come to know a LOT of Brazilians who have emigrated to the USA, as the Boston-area has one of the largest number of Brazilians in the entire US. Anyway, those that I have met from Rio would tell me that naive tourists see all the glamour of Copacabana Beach, and the mistake many make is they stray from Copacabana to just a block behind, and the safety factor is MUCH less than it was just a couple minutes earlier, and that tourists get in trouble a lot as a result.
@@mikes3827 It's like when you go out in nature. You gotta respect others boundaries in places like this. There are places you can go and places even locals don't go. It's not a bad idea to visit Brazil, but you should know it's a different environment.

This guy has some big balls. I live in Brás de Pina near one of the places he passed through, this is not a place for anyone to visit. Love from Brazil.
There is something so special about these incredible videos. No type of journalist comes even close to him. Kurt really brings you with on a trip, meets and interacts with locals, strolls through the streets, visits homes and you just really get a good impression of the life in such incredibly dangerous and normally completely inaccessible areas of the world. It is because nobody dares to expose himself to such dangers, and is not able to look at everything from another perspective, that there is comparatively nobody like him. It is incredibly fascinating to see how the people adapt to live in such circumstances, from the electricity supply to the gunshots and self-regulated favelas. I appreciate every video Kurt, and I hope you keep doing what you do and love!
That's not true. Indigo Traveler is right up there with him. Past him. Been to North Korea and is currently in Ukraine. Just saying. This guy's got balls too, though.
As part of my job for 40 years I travelled to a lot of crazy places in the world, including the West side of South America, and have never seen anything like this. I have seen other videos on these favelos, and have read on how much gun violence there is, but your video brings it all home. I love how you befriend the people wherever you go.

Others always go to Rocinha and neighboring areas but Kurt went to the Israel Complex! I already thought he was crazy before that. This is insane.

They had their lowest murder rate in 30 years with only 3982 people getting killed in 2019. That 3982 number is absolutely still worse than probably every other city in the world. I’ve looked up numbers in Juarez they have 2000 Rio still got them by damn near 2000

Keen observation, the bridge bit was a great example of that. Talked about how the criminals paid for the bridge to be built (obviously for more control alongside helping the community) but he has to just say that it was out of the kindness of their hearts since they were driving by. also the amount of times Kurt had to put the camera away was intense.
I am from Slovenia, one of the most peaceful contries in the world and this is so crazy for me to see. I mean u can see in the movies but when u vlog with local guide and people.. you can really feel it
Even to Brazilians it is crazy to see that. Small cities/towns outside the capitals/metropolis are really safe, with no violence at all, specially in the Southeast/South and Center-West regions.
First time I’ve seen Kurt a bit spooked by the situation he’s in. You can tell that was no joke and the place is wild. Amazing video again Kurt. 100% pushing the boundaries of visiting places you should be for our benefit. Bet youtuber about fact! Stay safe man and keep up the good work 🍺
I was thinking the same thing, he seemed a little on edge or extra cautious (rightfully so). Usually he ends the video very jokingly, overly elated, etc. but I think he was just trying to process everything that had just happened as well as all that he absorbed and experienced throughout the day (which was quite super intense).
I'm Brazilian and I'd never go to a place like that... It's too dangerous, even if you're innocent you can end up killed, it's just too risk, I wouldn't play with my life like that

@@brasilmanda991 I think most people are aware that Brazil is not all favelas and gang violence but I appreciate what you're trying to say. The most likely answer is that people want to see what these dangerous areas are like, that's why Kurt visits them. There are extremely dangerous parts of cities all over the world, and the majority of the time they do not represent all the country! I don't think that's the message here. And that's what people like to see
I just came back from Brasil. It really is such an amazing place. People are so friendly, of course there are problems but if you treat people with respect and don’t go looking for trouble things should be allright. Thumbs up for showing the truth from the favelas.

Edit: After watching the full video, I must say that I appreciate the light you shed on other peoples living situation. Pablo is very full of life even though he is surrounded by gangs and violence on a daily basis.
I'm so happy that I recently came across your channel. What you do is amazing & showing people adventures with locals in these areas not many are brave enough to go to is real dedication. Your local friend in this video did an awesome job making sure you were as safe as possible by letting you know the real dangers in his area.
I live in rio, and honestily, man, you went to one of the CRAZYEST DANGEROUS areas in the whole state 😟 This is one of the heaviest favelas in rio, good thing you had a good local guide
I’m from Dublin, I thought things were bad over here but holy shit it looks dangerous in that favela, it’s like a different world even our ‘ghetto’ doesn’t look like the nicest part of that favela…
Pablo was a great guide. He might have been the person in charge of the area, or close to it. I have a hard time imagining that the local groups would be cool with him leading around an outsider, if Pablo didn't have some considerable connection to them. Maybe he's just a relative, of someone high-up. Kurt, was dapping everyone up, showing nothing but respect to everyone he met. He also put his head down, everytime he was asked to. You have to give respect to get respect. I get the feeling that this video was made due to that kind of mutual respect being established before hand. This didn't come across as a propaganda piece at all. More of a really honest "check out my neighborhood" this is where I'm from, and what it's like video. Really appreciate Pablo, and you sharing it with everyone. Much love to you, and all the people out in Zona Norte, doing the best they can with what they got.
Lol no bro, locals all know eachother and treat each other like family that’s all there is to it, it’s something that you really wouldn’t understand unless you went to a place like brazil or mexico
@@DiegoHernandez-id6pe I don't know about Brazil, the other places I do know about though... Wouldn't let a stranger walk around a hot area like that video taping stuff that could potentially get them killed by the police or rival gangs, off the word of an unafiliated hoodie. Not everyone likes everyone, even if you live in a small town, or tight knit community. I highly doubt that just anyone who lives there could act as a guide like Pablo did without running into some trouble. Don't buy it. I'm not saying he has to be directly involved in anything either. He has to be well known, and well liked by every single group patroling there though. Otherwise they would both get blasted. Pablo is straight up telling people it's cool that this stranger is video taping, both during and right after a gun fight. Dude has some cred. Not anyone in the favela can do that.
It's just not how it works man, Pablo had no connections or nothing crazy, he was just respectful and not dumb. As he said, it's a community, and respect and boundaries go a long way. If you are born there or known by the community you are treated with respect, most of the times. But it's still a sort of a complicated situation, because the gang members (bandidos) are still cruel and unfair sometimes, but they still help the community a lot, sometimes too, people get caught in the middle of things and get treated as hostages, just like they did (especially in occasions where there is a fight or invasion going on). An example of that, is when a person who is not from that "favela" or area drives in a danger zone by accident or not knowing the correct entrance protocol (especially when there is a fight or invasion going on). They're probably going to get shot at. Favelas are the biggest communities in Brasil (they're small cities), things run a lot different here from other places around the world.
Brazil is such a beautiful country with many amazing sights to see and lots of lovely people. It's unfortunate that deadly violence and crime exists though.
From approx 17 mins in was some of the most raw unfiltered filming of what goes on areas such as this. The contrast of the tranquil blue skies with the happy smiling people against gunshots echoing in the background is a powerful juxtaposition. Great work Kurt, and my best wishes for all who live there 🙏

Or then its just that for example a whole tv crew from foreign media is not allowed to walk in places such as this without being threatened or worse
Lol BBC? You can't rely on them for anything. My parents are from India. If you believe the BBC they would have you believe that women don't walk around the streets, everyone is homeless, etc. They're the stupid ones who report international news on crime that happens with homeless people. It is facinating to see how the locals live and how humble the people are. To help you guys from 1st world to measure the reality of this crazy tour:
You can see Pablo's tension some parts of the video by doing the friend guide even though he lives in the area and know the people around there probably for a looong time (if he was a newborn on the neighborhood they woldn last 5 minutes). As a brazilian this gave me chills. Amazing content.
Yes they dont know that they chop you in Pieces While alive if they feel like It, in the favelas even Kids leave you dead on the street.

@@brasilmanda991 I think most people are aware that Brazil is not all favelas and gang violence but I appreciate what you're trying to say.
@@historynetwork852 No diversity in Brazil. Got it.
