We just closeed on a house that comes with a 50x60 shop that has ac and heat already. I am so excited to build build fun things.
Lucky!
Who needs a house when you have a shop like that? That's awesome
Don't you mean you bought a nice shop that happens to have a house on the property as well? 😉
GREAT CALL on the wheels and tires! 👍🏽👍🏽
Thank you! Took a while to sort it all, but well worth it
I like the chain hanging on the front in place of a bumper, looks tough!!
Alcoas are the best truck rims that ever were and I will accept no argument on that. You can class up any kind of truck 1000000% just by fitting a nice set of Alcoas. This one's going to be really nice when it's done, no doubt.
Alcoas are somewhat a status symbol in luxury bus in Indonesia! Those shiny shoes on a new triple axle bus just looks amazing.
Its looking sharp! Will make a good car hauler too!
We have a 20' flat deck for it, so its big enough to haul even the cclb trucks
What makes YOU happy is what makes you happy
The amount of knowledge you have always boggles my mind. Hours and hours is what it takes. I want to come back as DEBOSS.
Looks so much better with the frame shortened plus the wheels and tires.
"I could use torches but this makes me feel more manly." 😂😁🤟
A 2stroke Stihl(type) demo saw always feels good & manly to start & run, except when you cutting a bunch of concrete, especially in a closed area - ask me how I know!! Makes you do the Tim Allen Tool time - "Arhh, arhh, arrhh"! Doing a concrete floor cut in a small commercial restaurant\bar bathroom for drain line tie-in & owner 'forgot' to notify alarm company, so Fire Dept shows up not once but twice because of the dust getting to smoke alarm detectors and setting off fire alarm at alarm company, which sends fire department full lights & sirens!.!👍🏻👌🏻💪🏻😷🤦🏻♂️
Man oh man does that thing look good, the super singles just make it so much better to look at 👌🏻
Rich the truck looks flipping sick. Can’t wait to see it done. Wheels and tires look awesome!!
A divorced transfer case and live front axle would be interesting. Holmes 600 twin boom pto wrecker frame would be useful. PTO front winch from a military truck would be fitting. Flat bed the rest.
Wrecker booms make for handy yard cranes; will use the truck more often for projects with the booms.
Example: Can lift up or hold something heavy from a project, for a long time period, instead of using a fork lift and not be able to use the fork lift for other tasks.
Handy for recovering old equipment that's remote and heavy.
Can still do an Edison conversion later on and demonstrate the pto capabilities; quietly without running the engine.
Be a good static demonstration; can't take a crowd on a drive.
True but he could also make it like a UK accident recovery unit truck.
Essentially a tilt and slide deck with a Hiab crane behind the cab.
When I started building cars an old parts guy told me, you can have it fast, good or cheap, Pick two. and in the following decades that has turned out to the absolute truth. Love this project.
If you want wider tires get wide base singles rather than super singles. Also the wide base singles are generally available in a more aggressive tread design. The wide base singles were developed for highway trucks where the super single are geared more towards mining and construction.
i just finished that job on my 55' Chevy 1 ton, I put a 87 C35 diff in so I could use 16" wheels and tires, LOTS of drilling and bolting but like you I like the look.
Currently playing catch up on all the videos I’ve been off of RUclips for awhile, glad to be back seeing all the awesome builds. 👍
Those super singles were DEFINITELY the way to go, looks soooo damn good 🤩
I absolutely love the look of this!!🔥🔥🔥
Looks great bud
Good to see some progress on the Fargo
hahaha, its the "quick and easy" builds that get ha. Cool truck tho, I like how it's coming together. Nice work.
Now it's starting to look like a proper truck. If you do get worried about road debris flinging up, you can do the cheap trick of using garden edger to make flares off the fenders. Still looks great as it is, because you just don't see these anymore, especially in Fargo or DeSoto name.
I love the patina on the cab, looks like corroded copper.
Saw it sitting in the yard the other day when I went to town. Truck looks bad ass with the super singles.
Thanks man
Love the singles on that Fargo it's gunna be epic
Cool build can’t wait to see it finished
That is a sweet build. I love the look so far! 👍
Definitely coming together ❤❤❤❤
Going to make a trip down to florida and tow cleets rollback for him? 😂
That’s the collab RUclips needs
Throwing the tire and rim on the Fargo instantly made it look good👍
I've said it on this channel on more than one occasion. That is a fine lookin truck. 🤘👍
Looking good Rich
If you replace the ball valve on your bead blaster with a full port one it will work much better.
I did that with ours and it made a big difference
Looking really nice Rich
I have been excited about this one from the beginning, this truck is going to be sweet! Now I want to build a medium duty roll off.
Rich, they do make tire machines for Semi Tires. About $10 k CAD.
That looks really cool
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
*beerholder 😉
I used to be a dully only guy. Not so anymore haha. love the look of super singles. Great choice!!
Looks great! 👍
very cool build!
DG, i had enjoyed watching you tear into the 65 Fargo truck. super singles look cool..
I would drive that everyday thats badass
Looks awesome
Can confirm. Putting super lugs on a garden tractor, front and rear was a freaking nightmare.
It looks sooooo goood!
really cool truck
Fav, I got a wicked old C-70 that I'm customizing
Looking good 👍👍
Exited to see where this leads!
That thing looks right 👍🏻
Front fender flares made from thin checker would look bad ass. I’d love to take that for a spin. Looks skookum!!
She's coming together slowly, but boy does she look good.
goofy all the nice things you have built setting out in the weather, time to put up a building to store them in and make sure to plan for future builds
Did you not see the container storage video? Trusses are waiting to be installed
Going to be a cool truck
Wheel base look perfect. And the super singles look cool, the front axle being so wide just looks weird to me.
Love the old Fargo, I have a 1957 Fargo pickup that is a long time project, put an early Hemi in it
That's cool, I bet it loves gas tho.
@@nou8257 don’t have it on the road yet
I remember that girl I had I had a crush on. Yep she was all those things. But she looked sooooo good! Super singles are definitely the way to go
I think a fender flare kit over the front axle would complete the look, with those wide tires.
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, but it will be last on the list
Super Singles is so cool..
Good looking long boy that one.
Nice ok rig
I honestly like how the super singles look but I like the way they are so wide
This is cool
Nice to see you working on a dinosaur juice ride again. Great video, thanks
Would love to meet you if you do make it to Kentucky!!!
You take that back about sweating while installing tires , 19.5 heavy walled , low profile ... you'll sweat , O' sweat you will .
I've done all 6 on one truck one day. You get good at them, but yes. No fun hah.
I’ve never put a tire on a rim without getting sweaty crabby and cussing, it just doesn’t happen.
@@minnesotatomcat crabby cussing makes it fun for all ages . 😆
My kids thought i was yelling at someone talking to some atv tires and wheels. Ive done all kinds of tires by hand, some of the worst were yamaha tri-moto tires with rusty wheels. Absolute nightmare!!!@smaksymiv4950
I did tires for a while. You get good at all of them. Worst I've had were rear forklift tire lock rings. They make special tools but very doable with bars. But can really get you going for sure.
Yay I’m first for once. G’day from Australia
Nope, I'm first!
Good to see Another Aussie following DBG g'day from Queensland
Cool,
I put exactly the same size tires on my 4x4 Isuzu truck, gday from Australia :) 385/65R22.5
Waiting for part 7
Two things: LOVE those tires! B. I think enameled black for the hubs would look classic. and 3. Are you going to need a little more clearance on the cab side of the front wheels? Three things. Love the tires, enameled black, more clearance. And is there a plan for cab color? Four things...
0:04 looking like that drummer guy from step brothers and Talledega Nights 😏😎😁
Sick
23:10 thanks for the personal attack damn…
Desalt makes a 60v cordless maniac saw I do truck and fab work at a large concrete company and use it constantly. It is faster for cutting angles. No setup time. And perfect for chassis and frame work.
Have ever looked into the effectiveness of zinc metal spraying - as seen on the Retropower channel - for protecting against snow/salt corrosion?
Seems like a bit of a game-changer.
Princess Auto 🤤😎
Diggin' the Supers.... should've went duals on the rear though.
At this point I've come to the realization that I only joined to comment "Put an Edison kit it!" On every video. Cool truck boys 😆
It would be a great fit. Once we figure out how to put the generator behind existing engines, this one might get one, but it will be more difficult with it being a mechanical engine
@@DEBOSSGARAGE Would an old school welder generator with a mechanical diesel work?
Google, Dodge LCF and images, there’s a heavy duty white one there that looks really tough with a vertical exhaust and outside air cleaner too!
Hey Rich, Michelin Ones would really look good on the back axle.Gord Ontario Canada
Those gas chop saws are great, if you get decent cutting wheels you can get a lot of cutting done very cheaply 👍 and don’t have to worry about burning everything as bad as a torch, but I still love my torch too! 🤣
Started a new job, coming from the same company my boss had worked for previously, so he knew it wasn't a Mickey Mouse background. Younger kid was upset I was put in charge. Mentioned my education, experience, being twice as old, etc. Asked him what his experience was. Had worked one summer as a landscape labourer. Asked him if he had cut block, and with that asked him to cut out all the rebar from the concrete we had been demolishing. He came back asking if they'd buy him new work boots. He had cut the toe clean off. How he didn't smell the burning rubber, feel heat, etc. Lucky he still had all his toes. Kid wasn't all there, that's for sure.
@@wihamaki I watched a kid fill a chop saw with gas, set the gas can down directly behind where he was just cutting, and then proceed to start cutting the bundle of rebar again showering the gas can with sparks……guess what happened next 🤣 some people just don’t have common sense built in to their heads.
My Stihl chop saw is my favorite tool after my excavator. Cuts up mobile home frames like butter. No adhesions from incomplete cutting with a torch. No carrying around heavy tanks and fifty feet of hose getting tangled.
@@lightningdemolition1964 absolutely, they are perfect for cutting up stuff like that, and way cheaper than getting a tank of acetylene filled. I rarely ever use my cutting torch for cutting, mostly just heating rusted things but it’s nice to have the option to nip something off with 👍
The height of the pivot for the roll off is dependent upon the cab to axle length and the height from the ground
Imperial went to the moon!!
It’s good enough 😂
Rich with as much frame work you’ve done, does Milwaukee have a cordless mag drill with annular cutters?
When is the next episode of the boat coming? Patiently waiting 😊
Rich, all 6 or 9 series 10 and 15 speeds can be overdrive. You just need the Eaton-Fuller tech sheet, it tells you what gears to swap over.
You end up with 4th next to 3rd, 5th is beside 2nd.
Good to know, thank you very much!
actually they do make tire machines for the big trucks, when I worked for the Army they had them in their tire shop. 2 minutes to remove a tire 2 minutes to install a tire, that includes setup.
Mostly gloss-black with just a bit of chrome for the headache rack would be a good look. It would pick up the polished rims and black tyres, as well as those shiny headlights in the black surrounds.
Yeah no word of a lie, Pyatts is the best! Every time I bring something to them they take great care of it and don’t gouge me for it.
Doggone it, that's a GOOD looking truck. Thanks.
Seat those tires with ether baby!!!!!!
Imperial is the only one we should use 😂
For a while, I thought you were building an HD version of StubbyBob.😂
Sor a great dit thanks l Sub to you.
Didn't even have to put the Murphys on it to set the bead. What a deal
Get a Roadranger with 18 speeds. You can shift these really fast once you spend some time with them.
I did road service for big truck tires and full chang outs on truck and trailer in plants in Houston.. if you're not sweating your not working fast enough...
Thanks for the video. Good video. get the metric 10 speed, one that has a high overdrive 10 speed if you need to know more information on it, I can tell you exactly which one it is
you can take a cut down roll off box and make a flat deck tow truck with it
That is looking really good, Just like that girl we've all known and was happy to have for the little time we had her. I've got an old Fruehauf 12 foot box from the mid 80's but the hardware sure looks mid 50's or 60's and I want something to put under it like an LCF or COE, it came with a 75' GMC 1 ton, 166 inch wheelbase, and regular 16 inch dually's, and really it just doesn't look that good, but I've got the motor nearly done, looking for a 5 speed to replace the 4 speed compound low, but would rather make that an 8' foot bed, and lowered and replace the cab and chassis with something deifferent like that Fargo, she's a badass unit. Do you have any ideas?
