BUILDING AND RIDING THIS SICK MTB DIRT JUMP SECTION!! PLAYGROUND EP7

  • This MTB dirt jump build has been amazing so far. I can't believe we're already on episode 7 and have built so many cool features and mountain bike trails so far. In this video we're extending the line with more trail building, a huge build lapse on the new roller and right hip jump. The trick jump is amazing so this technical section afterwards looks and feels great for riding on my dirt jump bike and BMX etc. Enjoy the riding and time lapses. We're super motivated to get this line finished and invite some pro riders down for a jam, and then begin building a whole new backyard trails line!

You have to call the new hip jump “the slice”, it’s perfect!!
A slice is when there’s spin on the ball and it curves in the air to the right, right into the bush(right-handed). And the shot tracer of a slice fits so well with the trajectory of the hip jump. It’s just perfect.

@@jmonty11b dog leg is closer to what Matt was describing, I think, but "the slice" is a bit snappier. As far as names go anyway. Also a slice is when a shot goes specifically to the right, so it's got that going for it too.

Shaping a shot to the right for a right handed golfer is a slice, fade, or cut. To the left is a hook, draw, or slinger. This series is the best. I loved the lock down series as well.

Had an idea about the playground. The landing for the 9 iron should have an option to split to the left with a little left berm at the bottom of the hill which should lead into a step up with right berm or right hip that goes behind the tree, the landing for this could then lead towards the track between the trick jump and the loaf and the have a mini road gap that should then lead into another step up.

For a right handed golfer, a small bend from left to right is a “fade” and a big bend from left to right is a “slice”. A small bend from right to left is a “draw” and a big bend from right to left is a “hook” 😁 Plenty to work with!

    • @joshschuberth2609
      @joshschuberth2609 2 года назад

Oh! And if you start it to the left then it bends to the right it’s a “pull” fade or slice, and if you start it to the right and it bends left to right it’s a “push” fade or slice! Pull and push also work in front of draw and hook the same way… starts left is a pull, starts right is a push.

For the other line u could come away from the golf theme and do a playground theme. You could do the tight berm and call it the round-a-bout and make it a very fun, flowy line!

I'm jealous of the dirt you guys have to work with. That's some amazing stuff for dirt ramps

Other golf terms are, dog leg,, when the fairway turns slightly left or right, when you screw up hitting the ball it's called a hook or slice. The 19th hole is the bar in the clubhouse. Bunker is a sand trap. Series is great keep it up.

Either ‘the slice’ or ‘the power fade’ would work pretty nicely for the new jump

Absolutely love your work lads! I look forward to every episode you do whether riding or building! Best riding vids on YT. And this build just takes the cake. I found you guys at the start of lockdown along finding the love for the bike and absolutely addicted to you legendary idiots (without wanting to be a creep). Jamie's a flippin champ and you all give me a good laugh every episode. Thank you and keep up the great work. I needed this in my life. 🧡💪🏼

For the leftover grass pieces you can use them to build a second roll in for another line because they are so good for stacking and not the best for jumps.

After that last hip you could build a nice 180 banked berm and then use the tall end of the last roller to jump back across the track and straight up the slope in front of you to finish that line, use a split at the berm to start a new line

Matt, you HAVE to make golf sand traps that you’d see on a golf course and turn them into trick, awesome, steezy bowls along the way

That last hip needs a step spine landing straight on, with a sharp technical line following it so your flying with speed. 👍🏻🤘🏻

I was also thinking this… this ground is sooo nice with so much potential… maybe you can build a smaler techline back to the start… with a few bumps and banked curves it should be possible to creat new speed…

Call it the dogleg ! Like a hole that is a dogleg left or right usually have a 90ish degree bend in them

Use the left over turf squares to make a mini lip on each side of the trail, or build a fort, somewhere to chill.

You need a shark fin to the right off the wedge. All need a sand trap somewhere to double over. Keep up the good work.

Whale tails / Bridges are an energy battery. You can use the momentum to jump up and use a level/flat surface to transport it. You could use the speed to jump up onto a wooden feature thats higher than the up hill section & create a drop in mid run thats up on top of a hill. Almost a reset mid run. 2 runs in a run. Runception

Matt you should just fill your van up with dirt and use that to ferry it to the jumps further away. Line it with plastic. Happy digging!

Actual mad how much dirt your moving by hand! That last hip is insane, I think you make a step up/step down whale tail on the top side of the hip that slightly curves around the hip landing. You’ll be able to generate speed and create a new sick fast line
