I like products that have been around for years even though they do delete some ingredients as time goes by..not these fly by night hair products..I saw someone on social media that had their own relaxer product..I was like I don't know how safe I would feel about that product.I read reviews and I do my own research on products. Facts! My sister wanted to buy a growth oil and i went into detective mode cause she mynbaby sister. 😅 I checked the ingredients, the qualification and how long the brand had been around and the negative reviews! I told her "honey this isn't a market share company. There's no refunds like sephora or compensation if it goes wrong and they only make oil no other hair care products, it's a scam" some of the smaller brands are good but I always return to old school brands because of price, availability and Iknow they work for decades! Heck Paul Mitchell brand is older than I am... over 40 years!
Girl they do the same thing in the makeup/beauty industry. For example with lashes and makeup brushes. Black Labeling is definitely a thing and it’s been a thing, and will always be. Nothing new under the sun as they say. Thanks for sharing Cyn!❤

Been doing rollersets all year, literally at a year next week…my hair is the healthiest it’s been in a LONG time. Next year I’m trying to stick to a hair routine and schedule and see how my hair does. No natural hair products minus a pre poo and the SM deep conditioner i love. Thank u girl!!!

I totally believe you. I can remember way back some companies were outed/suspected of using bases. They were buying base items like conditioner, leave in, etc from those crafters soap making type websites and adding different scents to them and repackaging them as their own hand made product. I didn’t know what it meant at the time and kept buying but I do now. I’ve been buying from black owned natural hair care businesses for over a decade and I’ve see a lot. I’m done with them atp. I’d rather use some dang Pantene lol.

One of the 1st things I did was invest in quality products. I chose brands that have been around for decades and have invest in good experts. I was done with new brands from someone who mixed things in the kitchen
I am guilty of buying products from different people. 😢😢 I had an allergic reaction both times. It makes sense now, it was possibly the same product both times with a different scent. Thank you for sharing this. I am now back to using professional products only.
It true about Private Labels , about four years back I was given an opportunity to have a White Label Supplements , realising that the ingredients were rubbish , I declined. I couldn’t live with myself robbing people and not delivering. Everything is short cut these days , research then make products in keeping with the results. Such a shame as authentic and passion has been given over for cheapness and lack lustre products.
I'm autistic and I don't cope well with change so having a new bunch of hair products every month would be doing to much for me. 😅🤣🙈😂. One different product every 3 months is more manageable for me. 😅I love my old faithfuls. Me looking at pink oil and jheri curl juice. 😅😅😅 They work on my weaves and wigs too after i wash them. Lol!

You were right what you said about hair dye not to buy in the stores.My hair is dry and low porosity.I didn’t know it until I did the test.I am now 72 years old, I came to my senses and said I am not dyeing my hair anymore with those store products.I can’t afford the 7 day test right now.I will start buying the products that you were talking about for low porosity.I didn’t have any edges before when I was dyeing hair since I stopped now my edges are coming in.

Private labeling/White labeling.... Parent companies, companies buying other companies... Some of my clients told me I should make products.... I tell them with 50mil products out here, I'd rather educate them on those & teach them how to use them.
Girl, you are not telling me nothing I do not know. I make skincare products and some of the companies I get raw materials do have already made products available for purchase. same thing you said, I have seen some of the same products on there sold by some businesses. and there is nothing wrong with that because this is what everyone is doing including high brands. The only difference is that high brands may work with more expensive companies that can help formulate or tweak a formulation that exist in their portfolio.
That’s what I thought too but when you go deeper into the industry you find the truth. Keep digging. The companies owned by the same parent companies do but not all professional brands use the same labs and chemist. I know them personally this is not an observation. Thanks for watching!

Not in the hair industry but now I am seeing them buying products from Alibaba, slapping a label with Made in the U.S A on it and making video pouring melt and pour soap pretending they made it from scratch. you ever realized all of a sudden they all are selling the sea e tiny square shaped turmeric face Bar soap? I appreciate you asking that because as I have been listening to Cyndoll and thinking about the young lady with melanin hair care I thought about that because I have been following her I know for at least 10+ years. she was making her own products for a long time if you go back and look at her older RUclips videos, she was making the flaxseed gels, she was I believe buying Trader Joe shampoos. She made a wonderful oil which I made and really like that has like about five or six different oils in them. She definitely touted it as hair oil but she also said it could be used as an all purpose oil for the body so. So she was making a lot of her own products for her hair before she ventured into, her own product line. I think in one of her many videos as she was working up and introducing her product line she mentioned I believe going to chemist and manufacturer to tweak it for what she wanted And I think at least a couple of months ago, she and her sister who is a Business major they offered people a piece of their initial stock in the company. They’ve got a whole video out about that. So long story short it is very possible that her product is private labeled like that. But I think she put a little bit more money and work into having a more genuine product check out her RUclips video, I believe find more information.
I'm okay with comanies using contract manufacturers. It helps me find the products at cheaper prices. I loved a moisturizing hair cream pudding from a certain brand. I googled the ingredients list minus the shea butter and castor oil, which the company owner added to the formula. I found the wholesale maker of the aloe gel they use as a base. I bought a gallon of the aloe gel (the instructions say you can add up to 1% oils to the formula, or you can mix your oils with polysorbate 20 and combine it with the aloe gel). I use it with casor oil because I hate shea butter in my hair. The product is just the aloe gel mixed with shea butter and csstor oil. I eliminated what I didn't need and moved on. Companies who use bases save me a lot of money. I don't have to be a kitchen chemist. I just shop where t h ey shop. For the cost of 2 products from that company, I get one gallon of aloe gel. It's a great deal for me.
