    Might be worth getting a turbo timer on the bike. I have one for my car and since its purpose is to jump on, yeet into the sun and get off it, 20 seconds to a minute of idle with a timer when you turn it off will help the cooler oil get round the system and not keep hot oil in the turbo and whatnot. Just helps regulate temps at the very end :)

    I had the same problem with my 08 Busa. Here's what I found out. Get a flashlight a pencil or wood dowel, fire the engine up and get it to operating temperature, if the temperature needle climbs past the 3/4 mark the cooling fan should should come on, if it doesn't take the pencil and push on the edge of the fan with the eraser side and the fan should come on. If it doesn't the fan motor is probably bad. You can check the connector with a test light to be sure. Mine was bad from the first 100 miles and the dealer said they couldn't find a problem so I fixed it myself. Anyway if you are in traffic and don't hear the fan running when the gauge needle nears the upper range shut the bike off until you can get the bike up to a constant speed to get air across the radiator. I've read a lot of problems with the Busa overheating and I believe 90% of the time its a bad spot on the fan motor. Good luck!

      The turbo is literally where the oil cooler was so the turbo itself is acting as the cooler. As long as it has airflow and isn't red lining at every stop light like a turbo Lamborghini owner it should be fine. On the dyno should actually be worst case scenario as you're WOT stationary but they have fans for that and it doesn't look like it blew up on the dyno.

    • @Dangerwiggles
      @Dangerwiggles 3 года назад

      If the cooling fan and radiator are working properly it will never overheat. If they aren't working right it will definitely overheat. The fan will probably be on A LOT of the time which could cause early failure for it. My big V-twin SV1000 was constantly bouncing off the fan with an oil cooler and it is a naked bike. In full fairings this Hyabusa is gonna run hot 90% of its life but again, with functioning cooling it won't overheat.

    What kit is it? How much did it cost. I have a Gen 1 that needs a turbo on it. Mine has made 225 hp to the wheel with a 60 hp nitrous dry shot.

    Your stationary cooling issues are probably related to losing the oil cooler. I'd guess that the cooling that the engine gets from the oil is not inconsequential, so removing the oil cooler is going to seriously impact the stationary cooling. I'd also consider getting an auxiliary oil temp gauge so you can keep an eye on that, since as your oil experiences higher temperatures it may start breaking down much more quickly. That's not even considering the increased shearing due to the higher cylinder pressures. Don't skimp out on the oil going into this thing, because it is probably going to degrade in a big hurry. I'd probably look for a full-synthetic that will provide better shear characteristics and temperature stability, and then plan on changing the oil about twice as often as would normally be advised.

    Why would you go full blast before tuning? Those base tunes are just to get you up and running so you can begin the real process of tuning at a dyno.

    Well get the tires and brakes sorted for it and head to the Texas Mile in March. Should pull 200mph easy. Modded Busas are hitting 250 I think, maybe more. Can I buy you some life insurance?
