You have to remember this was long before digital audio, so there was no such thing as compact discs or .mp3. Everything was on vinyl. And this song was recorded at such a low level, every pressing of the record was full of surface noise and scratches. It wasn't until the song was re-mastered for release on CD in the late '80s/early '90s that anybody ever heard it without all the noise. What a gorgeous recording. Check out her follow-up recording, "Killing Me Softly." Another timeless classic.
So amazing. Takes me back to the good days of music. Anymore Hall and Oates? Sara Smile, ONE on One, I can't go for that no can do . all good songs.
such a great love song and Robertas voice is/was so amazing
This song brings me to tears everytime 😭 Saw her at the Montreal Jazz Festival years ago. Still one of my favorite concerts. Her voice is perfection.
When you listen carefully, the rhythms are of a heart beat, and that beautiful voice floating and swooping over it like an eagle...
Magnificent.
Sometimes you have to wait a bit longer before commenting so that you will have a better idea what the songs 🎵 are about. Saw her live and she is incredible!!!

She’s just so good. Pulls the feelings.
Originally released in 1969, believe she was a school teacher before her career took off. I'm sure there are a ton of people who played this song at their wedding back then...♡
I've always thought of this song as a poem first and a song second. But her voice is so beautiful, the poetry takes a step back
One of the best songs ever.
One of the most beautiful songs, ever... ever.
Finally, I have been waiting a long time for you to react to this - her tone is perfection
