Picked one up for basically free at $154 dollars. It’s been a great pistol for the money. Cheapest pistol I’ve ever bought and have zero regrets for a nice pistol that you don’t have to worry too much about.

This was my very first pistol I purchased 3 years ago. It came with 3 mags and 3 back straps. A year later I picked up a FDE color with 3 mags and 6 months after that one with factory night sights. Wasn’t to sure about the compact version since I have a Hellcat, 365XL, and a 43X. I will say Stoeger STR-9 is very special and dear to me. All 3 run any type of ammo I throw at it. 🤙🤘
It is a good pistol, I wish the new models came with two mags though!!
In 2020, they sold at $299, w 3 fifteen round mags, and truglow sights. Glock copy cat. Problems w pins on 1st gen, but awesome warranty.
For the price, you get a really good firearm.I recently saw them for under $250. Again, for the price, they are great pistols!!.

Thanx for an informative and concise review. I handled one this past weekend and was impressed given the price. I believe that Stoeger has a $50 rebate on this gun at the time of this comment (10/30/2023). A great truck or starter pistol.

@@yrsuedyou ought to check out the STR-9S. Has the same flat trigger like the STR-9F but with a threaded barrel and three 20 round magazines and tritium sights and optics ready. About double the price as the standard but you get a whole lot more. They just released the STR-40 earlier this year. Same as the STR-9 but chambered in 40 S&W.

My biggest gripe with Stoeger is "YOU CAN"T FIND THEM"!! The handgun you are showing you can find, the rest of the Stoegers you can't!! The full size model you have is $199.00 now!
I have seen the Full and Compact, those two I have. $199 is a great price!!

I have the 4.17 inch barrel version with 2 15 round mags I carry it as my side arm amazing gun only have about 200 rounds through it but no issues I do use 124 grain ammo with mine and have shit fmj and jhp.
I with they would ship two mags with this model!!

On this one it is, on the Combat, they have 20 rounders.
I just received my Stoeger STR-9 the other day. I don't hear an audible reset of the trigger. Should I be concerned?
You should NOT worry, not all pistols have loud resets, that doesn't mean they're bad, they are just not loud. Now, if it DOES NOT reset, then you should contact the manufacturer.
My only complaint with this gun, no safety.
Wasn't an issue for me, after decades of shooting and carrying a Glock, no big issue
I keep mine chambered between my couch cushion and arm rest. The last think I need is it going off as I pull it out.

OK< so you want lower capacity mags?? I'm not saying this is perfect, it has it's drawbacks, maybe you should watch the Video first?? I often carry a Glock, but the drawback with Glocks is due to the overloaded mags, which are great, it gives you a thicker Grip with Lowe capacity. This pistol functions 90% like a Glock, why mess with perfection?
@@yrsued First off I'm just starting a conversation. 2nd glock mags can hold up to 33 rnds and are ready available. So where do you want to from here?

No I'm only speaking of capacity. And having magazine continuity. WTF? I've seen your videos I think were on the same side unless you just want to argue.
Glock mags, Sig 226 mags both work great I dont understand the need to invent "NEW" mags for every pistol. Save time and development money start with a standard mag.

You know, we live in America, where do you don't have to buy anything you don't want to buy.... It might not be a good choice for you, but it has become very popular with those who are getting started and wanting a reliable inexpensive pistol to get started with.
