You have there a str9c and str9sc. The str9f has a barrel length of 4.67". I own the str9f, shoots amazing. Is my home defense gun with a olight baldr mini mounted to it My new str9sc is in the mail and arrives at my ffl tomorrow. Hope it shoits as well as the full. Will go right away in my edc rotation. Good comparison, thanks for sharing.
The chart at 3:16 is comparing the 9 to C stats... Not SC. SC has a 3.5 inch barrel, not 3.8. Also the length of SC is 6.54 in compared to 6.9 in for C model.
Came here to say, I have the STR-9S Combat and the STR-9SC. Great guns. Flat trigger for the win. Also, great review. Glad someone is showing Stoeger some love. Cheers!
you guys do great in-depth reviews, nothing bias, nothing weird everything str8 how u feel about the functionality.Keep it up better than any other 1m sub gun channel
I have the full size STR-9 Combat, three 20-round mags and a Meprolight already installed. $600 OTD. With less than 100 rounds through it, I took it out to 50 yards to see what it/I could do with the red dot. I was strictly an irons guy, before this gun. I got a five-shot group of 5", four shots in 3 7/8", with the red dot. I am stunned at how good this gun is. Like you, no malfunctions of any kind.
I don't have the full sized or the compact but do have the STR 9mc gen 3 now for 10 weeks and so far l really love it it conceals well in Florida the Micro is very similar to these two featured in the video the Stoeger STR 9mc is a little bigger than a SIG P365 and slightly smaller and thinner than a Glock 26 and it came with a 10+1 and 13+1 magazine so far 200 rounds through it shoots and handles very well for a pretty small gun
I have the full, the compact and the subcompact. All purchased in 2022. The full is 15+1, the compact is 13+1 & the subcompact is 10+1. The spec chart on the right may not be correct, it mixes the compact with the subcompact. All great guns IMO.
Agree 100%. Mags are hard to find and not cheap. Just add one every now and then as they become available. I'm up to 5 and would love to end up with another 5.
I walked in to an FFL I used to work at locally to shoot the shit with some friends and the owner. One of the reps I used to regularly work around mentioned to me that I needed to check out this mildly used 9sc in the gun case. Upon feeling the gun and the trigger (and a little encouragement by the old boss dropping the price to $150) I had to have it. Ended up finding three additional 13 round mags for it online too. Happy camper here. Two days ago I shot it for the first time as did my 21 year old son. He has decided he now wants one too.... 😁
@@mwmag Carrying it right now as we speak. Highly impressed with this Glock clone that also seems to have a bit of Smith & Wesson and Springfield Armory thrown in to the design. For around $275 (after additional purchase of the three 13 rd mags) I've acquired another quality carry rig. Was not expecting to purchase this gun that day but feel blessed to have found it...
Awesome review. I just got a STR-9C recently. Have only put 13 rounds through it. I'm wondering how IT compares to these two you reviewed. I'd assume it's gonna be very similar. Also be curious if the STR-9C can handle the larger magazines.Mine came with one 13 round mag and i bought another. Thanks Dennis 63 years Austin, TX
I'm a 68 yr old first time buyer.I'm in my BCI 8 day wait and if I pass (my record is clean) I can pick it up in a few days .Can anyone help a noob out and let me know what a good range round is for the STR 9f ? I'd be greatful.
This gun will shoot anything. It seems to do better with 124 grain but will do fine with 115. You can go with anything but I use magtech, sellier & bellot or unlimited ammo.
@mwmag Great review! I bought my APX A1 after watching your big comparison series and love that gun. Would love to see you review the latest APX A1 Compact (Not the carry) and maybe compare to the full size APX and also this Stoger sc.
What? 500 rounds to break in what? Did the first 500 not shoot well, but 501 suddenly it was flawless? I have one of the early STR9 pistols, and I've probably shot only 100 rounds through in since 2020, and it's great, no hiccups! Wahi' Valleys
I dont think the subcompact is worth shorter grip and barrel. You lose velocity, you lose mag capacity and for what? 1 inch shorter for each. Not worth it to me.
These guns come apart just like a glock. Just do some polishing of the trigger parts and you will reduce the break in period by 80%. Save your ammo for the real fight.
There's nothing wrong with STR-9. I have 1000rds through mine. Had the slide cut for optic. Excellent handgun. Want something more expensive? Go ahead and buy it. You better be really good with that expensive gun if you run up against a skilled shooter with an STR-9.
Bob, you sound like you came from reddit. It's called going and shooting the gun. You don't want to pay 500 rounds to train with the gun? Find another hobby or accept you will never be a great shooter.

Awesome. I want that next.
Very informative. Easy to follow through all the specs.
Glad it was helpful!
This makes me feel really good about my STR-9 purchase. I have yet to put some serious rounds through it but excited!
An absolute gem of a gun! You should feel very good - great decision!
THANKS FOR THE REVIEW GOOD JOB.
I've had the str9c for a year now, absolutely awesome gun.
Yes it is!
I also a str 9c they r amazing home defense the only thing I hate that is hard to find and extra mag for them

are the mags interchangeable?
@@SeekHisIdealyes! Also they sell a 13 round mag for the SC.
Great review.
2sc's and a C on order here. love them as well. great vid! thanks
Great video. I have exactly the same opinion about them .
Thanks for watching!
Great video. Love my str-9. I’d like to see how the stoeger str-9 mc shoots. Might you do a review on that one?
I have the SC and MC. The mc shoots great, nice trigger and ergonomics are Hellcat like. Make sure you get the 400.00 model, comes with more stuff.
I have the str9c, great gun and I love it, just wondering what changed that made your initial score of 88 go up to a 89 and now it is a 96?
I love my STR-9. Shoots better than several pistols twice as much. Just wish new mags were cheaper.
Agree 100%. Mags are hard to find and not cheap. Just add one every now and then as they become available. I'm up to 5 and would love to end up with another 5.
I heard sig 229 mags work, no mod, mecgar makes one for that and they are supposed to be equivalent to oem, can be bought for 25 some places.
If no malfunctions with the full size in 10,000 rounds, what was the “break-in period” in the first 500??
Broke in at 500 rounds. Smoothed out on trigger, slide and just worked seamlessly.
Whats the difference between the triggers? They look completely different in each gun. ?
Not much at all. They feel the same on both.

Any version of the STR 9 is a great gun! They are pretty much operationally similar. Great guns for sure!
Do they take the same mags ??
Full Size won't take compact bc it's too short. Compact will take both.
@@mwmag can you give me any in for about str 9 good extended magazines please ?

@@mwmag Good to know. Subbed.
is it a SUBcompact or a COMPACT??I have a COMPACT model, below that is the SUB COMPACT....correct??
Ok, I guess it's the compact (that you didn't have in this video).
Wish Stoeger would go the GX4 route and make a carry version of the MC.
Actual difference in length is .9 inches. Your specs are based on comparing the regular and C size instead of the SC.
@mwmag Great review! I bought my APX A1 after watching your big comparison series and love that gun. Would love to see you review the latest APX A1 Compact (Not the carry) and maybe compare to the full size APX and also this Stoger sc.
Ditto
Does anyone know about what holsters that are light compatible would work for the str9c? Been having issues finding aftermarket support.
I can use my Canik holsters and they seem to work well. Hope that helps.
@@mwmag no draw or retention issues?
just bought str 9 for 249 and get 75 dollar rebate....making it a 175 dollar gun...Hopefully it wont disappoint...but for that price,,,risk is minimal
Because of higher pressure build up in the barrel.
Bonjour je cherche à. Alléger la détente du str9 je suis en français

It just ran much smoother after 500 rounds. Slide, trigger, most everything just seemed to mesh. Hard to explain but you could definitely feel it.
SC Barrel is 3.5
The way it feels in the hand is what matters. Longer barrels will feel heavier recoil.
That's what she said!
That's the regular gun the full has a longer barrel 4.7 barrel
I dont think the subcompact is worth shorter grip and barrel. You lose velocity, you lose mag capacity and for what? 1 inch shorter for each. Not worth it to me.
Own one for 3 months. Hundreds of rounds, 1 pipe.
Great reliable gun for sure

I got the big one lol
Small hands make it look bigger.
# 2OO FEET PER SECOND.
False economy. If it takes "500rds to break in" the thing ($150-200)... Why not just add that $ to the purchase price and buy a better gun?
So, if you pay more, it requires no break in? Sounds kinda ignorant to me.
There's nothing wrong with STR-9. I have 1000rds through mine. Had the slide cut for optic. Excellent handgun. Want something more expensive? Go ahead and buy it. You better be really good with that expensive gun if you run up against a skilled shooter with an STR-9.
It exactly internals of a Glock you won't find better
