    Derek bell and paddy maloney rip 🙌🙌 those men on the harp and pipes, they were a once off, they'll never be replaced 🙌🙌😌 This was a great show, won't get the likes these days, irelands finest all together loving life, the collection of music here is just next to none 🙌🙌🙌😊😊

    Evoking music of the traveling minstrels and troubadours of yore. Beautiful and nostalgic. Very grateful for this music and dance tradition.

    So wonderful to have this. Paddy Moloney, Derek Bell, Martin Fay, Gay Byrne are no longer with us: all wonderfully talented people who added so much to our Irish culture and heritage. ☘️💚🎶

    I'm watching this video in October 2021 in the middle of Covid. I remember IIT back in 1987 It's still riveting viewing. Paddy Moloney has died recently. God rest him!! His music with the Dubliners will never die. This is what I would want in Heaven!!

      I don't recall Paddy Maloney doing much (if anything) with The Dubliners. I think you mean The Chieftains.

      Paddy Moloney and John Sheehan from the Dubliners know each other well as far as I know they were in the same class at school and had the same teachers ..!! And often played together ​@@Rungrandad

    i never heard of this guy until "the late show with steven colbert" put up a memoriam video on him. it's not what i would normally listen to but darn, this is good stuff. i'm sorry to the fans, friends and family for their loss.
    ... i'm grateful for the gift of the music he left behind 🙏

    I remember an afternoon in Rathgar
    Paddy's friends (French) broke down outside the house. All Ireland Hurling
    weekend. Garech arrived, and Purnah
    in a Rolls Royce. They played in the front room as a thank you.wonderful days

    great musicians in the chieftains...some fabulous arrangements....samhradh samhradh was beautiful with the arrival of spring, summer, autumn then dying away as winter approaches...can hear the birds singing.....

      I saw the Chieftains on their "Tears of stone" tour in 2000. Every one of them signed my CD inside booklet after the concert ---Derek refused, so I just wanted to have a chat with him but he just walked away. :/

      @@Vingul Yes,I thought he was too but unfortunately not jovial in person. :( All the rest of the chieftains were happy to sign the CD and have a photo with a crap 1990's camera (before the days of selfies and iPhones bullsh**) He didn't get on the coach with the others- but they were lovely! xx

    After 40 years I made this video about one of the countries that I Love the Most… Ireland.
    My daughter just visited the Green Emerald last week and that was my driver to make this video!!!
    If I have to mention two events that marked my life while in Ireland …
    Taking part in Saint Patrick’s Parade was one of them and secondly to be invited to the Late Late Show magically conducted by the best TV presenter I ever met! Gay Byrne!!!
    With my most sincere and warm feelings for my friends in Ireland!
    May this New Year bring Health and Happiness to All Irish people!!

    Gary Moore is fantastic . As is the song over the hills and far away. The chieftains also appeared on a song With ultravox called all fall down. Another class song. Video is on RUclips. It's worth looking up

    Those Friday nights watching aul Gaybo doing his thing were fantastic. Especially these anniversary episodes: Chieftains, Dubliners and even U2. Look at the pathetic dross that Turridy has made out of the current late late: hollywood celebrity tv interviews, finishing off with the usual weekly hard luck story. All for the salary of 500k

    I Met Christy Moore In Lisdoonvarna When I Was A Teenager. I Ran Away From Home And Rode A Honda 50 To Doolin Through Westport In The West Of Ireland. I Gate Crashed The Lisdoonvarna Festival All Those Years Ago. It's Obvious That Christy Moore Has Not Changed.

      A lot of people thought my late dad was stuck up or above it all but in reality he was just reserved. He would talk to pepole and he'd a killer sense of humour but he didnt show it to everyone just, to those he was closest to.

      Rock n' Roll is based on Irish musical timing derived directly from Irish traditional music export to the USA from the 19th and 20th century.
