Nice one Steven can't beat the high feeling after doing something adventurous like this. We will be back out doing god knows what next! Enjoy your Sunday!
That was a great video. It looked so much fun! You are both lucky to have found someone mad enough to share these adventures. Memories to last a lifetime ❤️
Thanks Urban we appreciate the kind words mate. Me and Em have a ton of memeories exploring the Outdoors, we just didn't film anything back in the day but plenty of stories to be told on our new advnetures!
Great video. They are not blueberries mate, they are Sloe berries from the blackthorn bush. You can make Sloe gin from them. They are not harmful eaten raw but they are very bitter and can dry your mouth out. They are usually harvested after the first frost in October.
To add on to the comments about the sloe; here in Sweden we make jam and syrup with them as well (though I’m starting to suspect make jam out of everything we can get our hands on, including things that maybe shouldn’t be jam… looking at you, pine and moss).
What an amazing place!! You didnt look too cold at the end but I bet you were. If I were you I would have put a flask of hot teat in my rucksack ....... or something much stronger. Well done to Emma for climbing up to the base of the waterfall, looked ok going up but coming down much more complicated I think. I would think it wise to be totally sure about the weather before venturing in, imagine what that place would be like in full flow. Great to see the valley which you showed us from the Bothy, some great drone clips in the video as well. I havent a clue how old Emma is so I wont hazard a guess, she has got a lovely smile though and you both look really happy out on these adventures. I had a look at her postings on the program you mentioned, first time Ive had a look on there. My nephew uses it to promote his fish and chip shop in Ringwood. Brollys are known as Brollys down south and even further south they are known as paraguas!! (literally for water!!). Good luck from Spain!!
We actually ventured here about a month ago so knew it was okay to climb and had an idea of the water depth up there 😊 It was very clear compared to last time too so that was good! Surprisingly grippy to climb too! Good idea about the flask though I should have thought 😄
Just stumbled across your channel. Love the videos with both you and em in them, true Cumbrians and great easy watching content. Keep the videos coming 👍
Absolute nutters 😂😂😂. Great Drone footage and loved the experiment. Great vlog, loved it. Em was a star, thought she might have had issue with the climb but she was ace. Thanks for the upload Jack.
Wonder if you could use the drone for walking away shots, then fly it back to you. Being from the US though, we run away from shots, duck or return fire.
Another bucket list destination/challenge added… get closer to Scale Force than Jack and Em! I think Brolly is used across the whole of the uk….there used to be a Public Information Film that was broadcast with the closing line “Wish I’d brought my brolly”… but if you said Brolly over here in Canada they wouldn’t have a clue what you were talking about!
@@emmanelles8537 you’ll need a big bucket ;) west coast is the best…the mountains and ocean are spectacular! East coast a close second… more rugged but still beautiful and feels much more like the UK. The bit I’m in ( Great Lakes) is probably the least exciting…yeah, the lakes are impressive, and Niagara Falls is cool…once or twice…but nothing compared to the Lake District!
@@geordieal haha I know! Some roads I’ve driven down or places I’ve been here I’ll say ‘feels like this would be in Canada’ 😅 It’s probably the same feeling either way, if you live there it can take the excitement off. There has been a few amazing places I’ve been to here but mostly I feel it’s all the same!
Hey Polly, no we weren't worried. We already climbed up the first time we visited so knew what to expect although i did think i was going to be able to get under it. Bit foolish of me to think it was possible but the amount of force i couldn't get any closer really. Too hard to breathe!
Hi thanks for the video, what an adventure, looks like you both had a laugh:) For your reference and possible intoxication, the berrys are Sloe Berry's, which can be used by adding sloes and sugar to gin, to make Sloe gin;) The mushrooms were fly agaric, which are poisonous. They are known to be psychoactive, once thought to be used by shamans in the northern hemisphere. Lol I'm not totally sure, but think that Labrador was actually a fat long haired retriever. Think that's what the woman's bemused expression was about;) Thanks, looking forward to your next adventure:)
Nice one Matt Em will be back out there soon now she knows you can make gin with them 😂 I can’t identify wild plants so I’d probably not risk it but I’d never seen a mushroom look as bright red I usually only see white brown or yellow ones!
Fly agaric (amanita muscaria) Is not actually poisonous as such They need to be prepared properly and aren't actually psychoactive either but medicinal in a few ways a really interesting species that a lot of information has been lost about over the years since people have been scared off of it by warnings of it being poisonous 👍
@@jackasnacks I wish….. knackered knees due to my crazy stuff, one replaced the other is on its way too sadly. Fun watching you though, I’m still off my head but the body drags me back. 🥹
Nice one Jack, I bet you were careful climbing up those rocks at the waterfall. One tip for you on the navigation, I don’t know if you use the OS app but I started using it a little over a year ago and it’s a game changer. It’s about £25 pa but makes navigation super easy, also when you’re doing your vlogs you’ll be able to identify all the fells etc. Good work you two and keep having fun.
Yeah I need to add it to my kit Jon I’ve seen how handy they are from people giving me directions whilst I’m out. Will really help with my fell knowledge too!
@@jackasnacks definitely Jack. I got lost in the mist on top of Helvelyn last year and came down the wrong route. It made my mind up to get the app and I’ve used it so much since. In certain situations it could be a life saver.
