- This is from Studio Bind's anime adaptation of "Mushoku Tensei (Jobless Reincarnation)".
Mushoku Tensei / Jobless Reincarnation
A 34-year-old man, jobless, shut-in and NEET.
On a certain day, after he got kicked out of the house, met his death in a traffic incident... or so the man thought.
The instant he thought that, suddenly he was reincarnated as "Rudeus" in a world of swords and magic. With the piled regret and experience from his previous life, he swears to live his life earnestly this time around.
Meeting with various peoples, various magic training... the now developed Rudeus is setting on a really harsh and cruel journey, such as Teleportation Incident involving his hometown, Fittoa Region, and other various tales.
After prevailing many hardships and successfully coming home, Rudeus became one with her beloved Eris. However, the very next morning, Rudeus suffered a heavy shock after realising the sudden disappearance of Eris. He had given up on everything and reverted to his shut-in and NEET self, just like the previous world. Alas, as the only lost person in his family caused by Teleportation Incident, his mother, Zenith has not been found yet. Now he is determined to find Zenith, and Rudeus is standing up on his legs once more.

For non-LN readers, he used Exodus Flame, advanced tier fire magic. This is weaker than what he used against Orsted, at that time he literally condensed flame till it formed into a nuke. They show flame level condensation by color in the anime, like here you can see it change colors twice, to depict him using advanced magic.
Exodus Flame is Advanced-tier magic, not Saint. The only Saint-tier magic that he knew at the moment is that rain magic he learnt from Roxy

If I'm not mistaken. Rudeus likes to use Earth and Water Magic the most, with a high favoritism for Earth Magic as he uses it more versatile.
He prefers to use earth and water spells because they are more practical. Fire spells kill anything they come across.
They are not burnt due to the magic, they are coated in the dry blood of the bears he just anhilated

@@cptforce4541 Yeah, it was dry blood. Fire spells do not burn the mages who are casting them. The spell Rudeus cast on Orsted had the power equivalent to a nuclear bomb and yet it did not burn his hand while he was casting it.

Compared to the manga, his depression phase is really short, in the manga it takes a lot of chapters for Rudeus to heal, he even earn the name "quagmires"
So will he actually make it to the acadamy with Fitz this cour or will that be cour 2?

Even if he has convinced himself to move on, it doesn't mean he isn't still depressed. You'll see as the chapters go by, there are still things to show. The Quagmire thing will surely come right now in episode 2, when he starts working with various adventuring groups to make a name for himself so that, if Zenith is in the area, she'll hear about him and approach him.
This is just the first chapter of volume 7 which is the start of the depression arc, Rudy is not healed at all, he is rathr just, not suicidal, which is one step forward
This exact shot reminds me of how they animated Kanne’s Reamstroha from Frieren. I like how the Magic has weight to it and there’s a little lag when throwing it

aaaaannd they skipped most of it... :( They are blazing through the source material. At this rate they will end the first Cour at the end of the labyrinth arc. Pre season I thought it would be the end of the season.

@@maxwellsope1080 Character development stuff mostly. The adventurer arc had lot more to it. They ended up hitting most of the high points but it felt rushed.
@@scottsimmons7076 They have to cut stuff otherwise it's gonna like 100+ episodes. I don't think they wanna do that. As long as they don't cut major plot points or fights or change a character in a mjor way for the anime it's good.

(1) White-Flames => King/Emperor-Rank
(2) Blue-Falmes => God-Rank Magic
But due to the destructive Nature of Fire-Magic, Rudeus should've opted to use "Yellow Flames" as a Std.

rudeus decided to use fire magic when he doesn't like to use it, guess fire is better at annihilating, what do you think guys
It's not that he doesn't like fire magic but in most situations he's been in, it's the least effective, in the demon continent what they hunt is what they eat, so he can't use fire or they get burnt to cinders and the AoE is too big, so to let Eris grow fighting and not ruin their food, he had to settle with Earth magic which was the most adequate for that, same issue in using fire magic on the beast forest, it's like "duh ofc not" and also can't use it on small places or causes suffocation due to burning the oxygen
@@HaxeRain I think part of the reason he likes earth magic is because he's spent the most time using it (to create figurines) and is most proficient at it

That's not how time travel work. There are many time lines different from each other
@@fridaynight3181 Honestly, that's is 100% up to the interpretation of the author in question. No one "knows" how time travel might work. As far as any actual scientists have THEORIZED, it's likely completely impossible. This is why it's often such a cop out in fictional stories. It's far too often used as an easy out for authors writing themselves into a corner that they either can't, or can't be bothered to rationalize without using some sort of deus ex machina.
