Every region has had a sort of expansion to it that give the regions a whole different vibe, dragonspine for monstadt, the chasm for liyue, the desert for sumeru, etc so I'm hoping natlans expansion is indeed a volcano, lava, ash for fog type area.

Do most of the ppl not read the NPC dialogue? They say Natlan is a place to go for relaxing and having fun, also their biome is very colorful full of graffiti. But on the other hand, the game has said that there are a zone that currently has war which I think it will comes out later, like Sumeru desert.
Ooh unfortunately, I believe that majority of the players don't care about the LORE, much less reading dialogues from NPCs 😅 Sure, some players perhaps will only care about the MAIN STORY LORE but definitely they will NOT be reading the NPCs dialogues thats for sure.

The marimba was not even one from either africa or centroamerica/chiapas, it sounded more like a grand marimba. Both the former marimbas usually have resonators that make them real real obvious theyre not your average run of the mill marimba

People don't undestand that WAR IS CULTURE in Natlan. Not literally war, chaos everywhere. Problably, pyro archon leads the nation using "war" like: important decisions, fight each other. Problably this is the "eternal war", everything is decided in eternal battles between tribes

Natlan is based on countries that have a LOT of darker skinned people. Yes, you could possibly make an excuse for Sumeru, but Natlan? No way. Furthermore, we know Mihoyo can make darker skinned characters. Look at the enemies. So there is little to no excuse. We need good representation of darker skinned individuals.

I'd been told that the primary inspirations were closer to Africa as a general continent though, so this is definitely an interesting twist. Honestly, I can't quite see much of the cultural inspirations unless they're specifically going for modernised variations of the culture. Aside from the terrain and the very start of the background music using instruments from indigenous Australians, there really isn't much that anyone familiar with the culture or area would typically flag as connected. However, these are still only previews, there may still be more we haven't seen yet.

Natlan map looks so much more different then the other maps weve seen so far, like theres a lack of shading and it looks better and more stylized then before, i hope the graphics dont cook my pc tho
fontaine is proof of that (and chenyu vale) they are using less natural colors and using more vibrant ones to make the ecosystem pop, which works very well.
My theory about Natlan and wars: In the past tribes were in constant wars but then something happened(maybe change of Archon) and wars were stopped and replaced with sport competition
If one more Archon turns out to be not the archon there's gonna be a riot, i can just see it. Imagine 5 years of exact same archon quest just slightly different versions of it.
Omg, as a latino I'm so excited for Natlan, and it makes sense that there's a lot of water and forest alongside desert. Just like the regions it would be inspired: Latam and Africa. Sahel line where forest meets desert in Africa, the Sonora desert and Atacama desert in Mexico and Chile, side to side with volcanos, mountains and Amazona's rain forest, Calakmul and so. Damn, and the music, oh my god, the music. I'm so hyped for Natlan. August is taking too long to come.

They don't need to all be dark but only having slightly dark characters and one barely tan one that's as light as most white Americans I see in insane. On top of that it's hot in those areas, lots of uv. I doubt they're applying sunscreen every time they go out. Why does mihoyo use all of the culture but leave out the skin tones of the people in representing? Imagine they made all of Fontaine black? It wouldn't be accurate, and people would be upset. Based on what we know from prior media sources, the current Pyro Archon is still unknown since the last we've seen or heard of her was when Venti had his 1,000 year nap. Then Vanessa and her people left Natlan and forgot all about their past since becoming one with the winds. So what we can conclude from this footage, is that there may still very be a war within Natlan's borders, however it may be a Civil one like with Inazuma. These three must act as Forest Rangers similar to that of Tighnari and Collei. Since it was obvious the little Geo girl was just luring the bad guys to the her friends on purpose.
Not to mention there's a cataclysm happened 500yrs ago but the last mention from pyro archon "Murata" is 1,000yrs ago. Since most archon died in the cataclysm, the pyro archon probably changed already.

My best guess for now is that the Natlan characters will have a form of the mount system built into the kits (like how fontaine characters had the Arkhe stuff built in), since some of the effects the new characters have are similar to the ones we saw in the last teaser we got (which probably means Pyro Traveler will get the same treatment to encourage players to use it more, but Idk, I'm just speculating based on patterns I've seen).

I guess we can safely say that Natlan is not purely Latin American inspired. Seems to have African and a lot of Australian elements. Music sounds Australian (like Crash Bandicoot) blended with Spanish guitars and African percussions.
Seems to be all australia inspired from my guess, people assumed africa and aztec. But game does what it does.

The marimba was not even one from either africa or centroamerica/chiapas, it sounded more like a grand marimba. Both the former marimbas usually have resonators that make them real real obvious theyre not your average run of the mill marimba

Natlan is based on countries that have a LOT of darker skinned people. Yes, you could possibly make an excuse for Sumeru, but Natlan? No way. Furthermore, we know Mihoyo can make darker skinned characters. Look at the enemies. So there is little to no excuse. We need good representation of darker skinned individuals.

Honestly, I can't quite see much of the cultural inspirations unless they're specifically going for modernised variations of the culture. Aside from the terrain and the very start of the background music using instruments from indigenous Australians, there really isn't much that anyone familiar with the culture or area would typically flag as connected. However, these are still only previews, there may still be more we haven't seen yet.

fontaine is proof of that (and chenyu vale) they are using less natural colors and using more vibrant ones to make the ecosystem pop, which works very well.
I believe they’re moving to Unreal Engine 4, so that’s why.

Sahel line where forest meets desert in Africa, the Sonora desert and Atacama desert in Mexico and Chile, side to side with volcanos, mountains and Amazona's rain forest, Calakmul and so. I am mad bcz it's based on Latin America and some other places, I think, yet all of these people are light skinned. Are there light skinned ppl in those countries? Yes. They don't need to all be dark but only having slightly dark characters and one barely tan one that's as light as most white Americans I see in insane. On top of that it's hot in those areas, lots of uv. I doubt they're applying sunscreen every time they go out. Why does mihoyo use all of the culture but leave out the skin tones of the people in representing? Imagine they made all of Fontaine black? It wouldn't be accurate, and people would be upset. Call me a woke liberal snowflake, but I am Mexican, and I am frustrated. Even the jp and cn servers are confused.

I found the vision for the dentro guy: it’s on his left leg (front view), you can see it in the last shot when they turn the camera around so you see their backs

Hydro girl’s vision is on her back, exactly in the same spot where Hu Tao’s vision is. You can see it when she turns around in her 2nd shot and in the last shot when they all turn around

My best guess for now is that the Natlan characters will have a form of the mount system built into the kits (like how fontaine characters had the Arkhe stuff built in), since some of the effects the new characters have are similar to the ones we saw in the last teaser we got (which probably means Pyro Traveler will get the same treatment to encourage players to use it more, but Idk, I'm just speculating based on patterns I've seen).
