I love his performance of this rousing song and the way he involves the audience ... another example, from the Albert Hall in London with loads of great guests, is included in this comparison of different versions Cover Story (43). The Auld Triangle: Glen Hansard, the Dubliners or the Pogues - Salut! Live
The "Auld Triangle" written by Brendan Behan during his incarceration for the murder of two Garda Síochána in Mountjoy Jail. The triangle was the metal triangle that was beaten by the screws (wardens) every morning to waken the inmates in Mountjoy Prison, it's still there. The song is the reflection of a fictionalized IRA man on the last day of his life when he is going to be hanged. Behan wrote it about himself in memory of the Easter Rising in 1916 ... The Royal Canal was built to carry freight by barge from Longford to Dublin.
Chicago is in America 😂 I know what you mean though 😀🍀 Boston’s in America too 😂 Glasgow Scotland would beat them both though in the barrowlands 🍻🏴
You're walking home at 3 in the morning, with a fine moth dressed in black tights and a short mini, all along the banks of the Royal Canal, and you know where the night will end... :,-)
This is pure joy. If you don’t get this, there’s no soul in your life.
This is what the Irish do get everyone involved in the singing ☘️
We got time for 1 quick song🤣 9 minutes later🤣 love it♥️
I love how they all take a verse and make it a party! This is what doing an encore/final song is all about!
Most striking thing about this is the enjoyment Glen gets out of it and how he brings his audience along with him. Superb
Have you seen the audience? A lot of them were chewing gum, looking bored. It's not for them, but not everyone was into it.
@@timothygraham4304i bet your fun at partys
They are children, what do you expect? A lot were though!
