Cannot believe you did this song man, not much people know this song. It’s literally the best saddest song ever, oh the memories listening to this song :’) good job brotha
This was the the EXACT television appearance that made Gladys my favorite female vocalist. I was home from school sick and watched this from my soda. So beautiful it made me cry. Like her soul was being barred. Dig me now? Honest reaction again. Thank you Jayvon!
This is probably my very favorite Gladys Knight song. She DOES have an exceptionally beautiful voice. I've loved their music through the years. Would love to hear it again, here. Wonderful reaction!
You're spot on Jayvee. Gladys sang her heart out on this one and makes this a timeless classic. They did have some other hits, but this one is my favorite by them. Back in the day on Saturday mornings after the cartoons ended, American Bandstand and Soul Train were broadcast back-to-back.
One of my all time favourite artists. And she was truly an artist, in perfect control of her instrument. Such a sweet, pure voice, and such an angelic face.
GLADYS Knight is one of my favorite female singers ever. I still would love to hear her sing Great Gig in the Sky. You caught that controlled voice, that’s right, she is like the tip of an iceberg. You know that she has the power to just rip it out. Like when you heard Evanescence. That clear as crystal perfect pitch, and that rumbling fire deep down in the soul ready to to let loose is what their gift to all of us is, and we are grateful. In just about every great song, there is some member of the band that is allowed to rip it out just for us. It is a gift and an honor to be present.
Gladys knights is a legend. Her voice is spectacular. This song by her is one of my favorite. Never get tired of listening to her. You never ease to amaze me with your reactions.
I'm 55, and had such a crush on her when I was like 8 years old, lol. That would have been in 1973. This is my favorite song of hers, literally makes me cry to hear her sing. Beautiful. J, you have excellent taste.
Gladys, and any other soul/R&B singer put their heart into what they sing, and Gladys is a master at it. I enjoyed watching your reaction as you listen to her sing. You have a thing that you hear something in a song or lyric that you like, you close your eyes and shows me that you are enjoying the lyric! Most reaction videos that I have seen look as though they are putting on an act, but not you. This old lady rarely get an opportunity to get on line, but when I do, I listen to MY MUSIC from back in the day, you're bringing back good memories and I appreciate it THANKS!
I love this song! Gladys Knight has one of the best voices I’ve ever hear, it so rich and soulful! She always brings the emotions out of me! I love auntie Gladys!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for reacting to this one, my favorite of their many hits. Gladys had a phenomenal voice, so rich with emotion. She was the fourth famous singer in the Dionne Warwick video, That’s What Friends Are For, with Stevie Wonder and Elton John. You would enjoy all their hits, I’m sure, because their style was so moving.
I love to see young people react to great music I grew up with. Classic voice, classic song. American treasure! Back in the day when every song was truly "performed". Great Reaction! Your "WOW" was everybody's reaction back in the day. I was so lucky to be in that generation.
The Empress of Soul! Was so glad to have seen her LIVE here in Melbourne Australia just this past February. She was beyond amazing! My 3rd fave vocalist of all time!
My Sisters and I saw Gladys in concert March, 2020, our last public gathering just as the Covid pandemic was taking root. She sang with her heart and soul and her love enveloped the crowd with her gift of magic and warmth. She was amazing and I'll always treasure the memories of my youth she let me relive that special evening. Thank you, Gladys.
My fave female singer! I remember hearing her ,as just a small child, and crying because it touched my heart so much...Gladys makes you feel something in every performance...amazing
What a beautiful and emotional song that brings me to tears even after all these years. The 'breakup' has happened to so many of us, and the pain is still so palpable, even after many years, that the emotions just resurrect themselves. The regret, the 'wonder why it had to happen' is always there , and even if you've found another, it's very hard to ignore and forget the past. There was a reason why we were there before.. and I refuse to pretend that those years and relationships meant nothing. They really did, and I will always give them the respect and 'love' they deserve. For me, and for them. God Bless what they meant to me, and hopefully, our best times still mean something.
Hands down, Glady's has to be my all time favourite female vocalist. If I ever get the chance to meet her I'll thank her for blessing my life with that voice.
