I miss groups like this. The Manhattans, The Stylistics, The Temptations, The O'jays, Spinners, and the like.. We need smooth groups like this back again. IMO, this was the best of the 70's.

That's "OLD SCHOOL" for you young brother! That's why a lot of us older folks keep saying today's music just ain't as good as the "OLD SCHOOL". Whether it's ROCK, SOUL, RAP, POP, or even COUNTRY, it was better back then. It just was. Oh by the way, it wasn't just MOTOWN, there was the "THE PHILLY SOUND too. Soul came from all over the country. Even Scotland (THE AVERAGE WHITE BAND), and England (Many artists had songs on the R&B charts.

I have to say that I wouldn't be here if you didn't do such meaningful reactions. CONGRATS on 50,000!!!! You are still going to grow, no doubt. I was so happy to see you reacting to this song. It is one of my favorites because of the bass singer's voice. He made the whole song for me. Thanks for your reaction, Jay! I thoroughly enjoyed it. Take care and be well. Peace. I found this info on the song:
"Kiss and Say Goodbye" is a 1976 hit song worldwide, by popular American R&B vocal group The Manhattans. It was written by group member Winfred Lovett,[1] the bass singer and songwriter of the group, who intoned the famous spoken voice of the song's intro."

I have had the pleasure of working with this great organization for the last 40+ years as their Road Manager and I’ll send this video to Mr. Gerald Alston the lead singer and last living member in this video. He is still performing shows as The Manhattans featuring Gerald Alston. He also has Troy May and David Tyson with him! I’d love to connect with you so that when we get to perform a show in your area you can come be our special guest! Thanks again for your review!

Such good memories when I hear this and most Motown. Motown is what my parents listened to when I was growing up and I can hear most any Motown song and instantly get flooded with amazing memories. Good stuff.

These old bands music needs to stay around. My dad was this era and I heard this music all the time. I'm glad he did.

That was my joint! It's nice to see the younger generation showing support to the songs of old. I went to one of their shows back then. They were amazing. Would give you chills.

This is beautiful to see a young man hear the Manhattans for the first time. Kiss and Say Goodbye is a classic, but brother, don't stop there. Billy Paul, The Chi-Lites, Spinners, O'Jays, Stylistics, Delfonics, Tyrone Davis, Harold Melvin & the Bluenotes, Commodores, Gladys Knight & The Pips, Cornelius Brothers & Sister Rose, Tower of Power, Betty Wright, Otis Redding,... Work your way all the way back to the creator of Soul - Mr. Sam Cooke. Someone once said you can't love the blues till you've lived the blues. I hear that, but listen to these and other artists and you'll know why it's called soul music. That's where it comes from. Keep on keepin' on!

Love The Manhattans..they had so many hits..one of the best! Back in those years..that was real singing..sang about love..hurt..todays music doesn't sound like anything like this anymore...there's no more great singers like these anymore..listen to the Whispers..Earth, Wind & Fire..The Stylistics..love my old school R&B music..the best music ever☺💜🎶🎤
