@Trevon Womack : Indeed, I'm white and I absolutely, adore Old School, Black Music. That utterly, awesome Motown Sound will rock, forever! Much Love. My Best. Out.
@Novy Honza : Sorry, that was not meant to come up twice. Continually, having problems with how things get uploaded over RUclips. Don't know if it's my computer or the website itself. Wasn't trying to be confrontational at all, and there's not really, much of anything to wonder why about, at all. It just, seems so, silly that we would need to make this a black and white thing, at all. Now I happen to hate with a passion, rap so called music, which seems to be largely but not exclusively, black, but that's only, because I happen to think it's an utterly, crappy style of music, period, that sends out so many horrendous, messages. I feel that no matter who is performing it, black or white. Whereas, I absolutely, love the Motown Sound, such as we have here, and as far as I know, this is almost, exclusively, black. Basically, what I'm saying is that quality music knows no barriers of any sort, so can be loved by all races, genders, religions, what have you, and people everywhere. That's it. If it seems like I'm making a preference in my replies, it's merely, because I'm a white guy who loves black music, when it's high quality, and I want to make sure they understand this, that's all. And, I love the music of THE WORLD, as well, as I'm into all sorts of channels that feature all sorts of music, from all over the world, over RUclips here. Right now, I'm particularly, interested in Chinese Pop Music, and can't get enough of it, because I'm basically, rap and hip-hoped completely, to death here, by western pop music, and long for something different. You see?! Much Love. My Very Best. Out.
I saw them in 1973 in Oklahoma City..along with Millie Jackson, The O'Jays, The Stylistics, The Spinners and The Temptations!!! I was 17 and one of about a dozen white people there! Everyone had the best time! It is one of my best memories. I wore my new "baggies" and was looking so hip!!

James, have you ever reacted to the great Jackie Wilson? If not you should check out "Lonely Teardrops" & "Higher & Higher". He was a big star when my parents were young, very popular with both black & white people & on all the charts.
Give a listen to Jackie Wilson singing an old country classic, "You Don't Know Me." Of course, any song by Jackie Wilson is worth the time it takes to listen.
James, you are an old soul. I love your reactions - they are so heartfelt. Music is so cathartic - it's my 'muti' (Zulu word for medicine) when I'm down.
James, I really love your reactions. Listening to your comments about loving and giving too much, etc. 1 song comes to mind. You should check out "Everybody Plays the Fool, " by Main Ingredient. The lead singer is Cuba Gooding, Sr. There's one line that brings it all together, "next time around, someone cries for you."
Exactly what music does for me!Takes me away to a great place!I also grew up in a family that was highly musically influenced(My parents were DJs and my brothers both played the drums and bass and my oldest son plays the drums in a band and I got to see him perform at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach quite a few times and they just recorded a CD) You can say every family gathering we have, Music is always the #1 topic☺🎶 Music is my Therapy🎶Keep up the great reactions! You're playing some Awesome classics!
WOW, Such a fond memory with Kiss and say goodbye, it tells a true story of my first and true love, the gal I couldn't have for similar reasons. This song and Leo Sayers When I need you, filled my heart back in 1977
I’ve just come across your reaction videos and you are such a lovely guy who shows real emotion, I love it when you say it gives me chills. There is nothing like Motown classics my favourite kind of music.
James, your gramma has done a great job with you. Your an old soul. These older songs will add to who you are. Music brings people together no doubt. ❤
Would you please explore the music of Paul Robeson. A great singer and activist. Try to find where he sings for the miners. A remarkable voice. I am not your grandma. I know you listen to her. Perhaps you could ask her about him. Thanks
Classic Music will never die, it was the best ever.60's 70's The '80s and very early 90's into the very 2000s. By God, I can not believe our generation is now being called Classic.
This IS MUSIC !! I was raised on this kind of music !! I thank my mama for this !!!! This is when Black music had Integrity!! Pure singing ability ! I can feel this kinda music deep down in my soul ! When I’m going through it I put this music on & I start to feel better ! This kinda music is literally food for my soul !! I was told this is when black folk was sooo close & loving on each other something terrible ! Black love at its finest !!
Great Choice! We need more classic R&B reactions, it doesn’t get the attention it deserves! Some many Great songs out there that a lot of young people haven’t heard!
Seems like all you hear reactions for are rock and country and western songs. Thank God for Soul Train back in the day. We got some soul and funk on there.
"Here comes the hurt again" is one that Gerald Alston knocked out of the park! His voice!! Greatly appreciate your channel. Thank you. Edit I can't even imagine a world without 60's, 70's R&B.
Hey James! I’ve says it before and will say again- you’re a beautiful, old soul in such a young man- and you get it! Keep doing you! One of the most real reaction channels out here, in my opinion- you react to a lot that most miss out on- again, keep doing YOU! Sending love -❤️🤘🏼✌️
It's so wonderful to finally see a strong intelligent young black man with such a huge heart taking the time to learn and embrace his history through music. Your reactions are so deeply heartfelt and honest... You were raised right by an undeniable strong graceful beautiful woman....continue embracing and accepting her advice and guidance.....God bless you James
This music is a bit before my time (born in 1970) but it's what I grew up on. Your reactions are so genuine, so open and honest, and to be truthful, I sometimes forget how young you are. You are wise beyond your years. I only wish that more people who are as passionate and open to listen would come forward. The world would truly be a better place. On a side note, and to end this mush fest... I almost fell out of my chair laughing as I tried to imagine some of the "stars" of today trying to sound... and move, like these guys!
Go Head Young Man Suck It All Up. Imagine growing up with this music . Having this sort of music around your constantly puts u in a different state of mind and livelihood.
Growing up Motown, I feel blessed to have experienced this music firsthand. Everything from the music, costumes, choreography etc....was pure entertainment. Every song takes me back to a place that was simple and innocent. Love!
This song and the Manhattans, about as classic as it gets!!! This song hit when I was 13, I remember a lotta life experienced to this smooth tune!!! Thank you for sharing, yet again, Mr. J!! 👍🤙💜

Your grandmother is a woman after my own heart. I was born in 1963 born and raised in an R&B music family. There are 9 of us and a handful of us sing. My daughter who was born in 87 was brought up in an R&B household. Stylistics "Stone in love with you" is another group that goes hand in hand with Manhattans.
It is good to see a young man who is willing to share openly as you do about family and the reasons you enjoy older music. It is also nice to see you sharing your belief in God. Keep being you!
Good old days music!!! It brings me some good memories from my teenage years. I remember those good music when I was in HIgh School down here in Panama City, Central America. Those US groups were very famous and popular.

MC Hammer watered down the lyrics in his version.
I used to pronounce it Shy Lites. But, I have never heard it spoken out loud.
So, I used my best guess. LOL
@@elizabethmacavoy1324 I've ONLY heard it pronounced Shy lites (and Wikipedia agrees en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Chi-Lites).
@@DerekDominoes True, but the song still sounded good and showed it to a new generation.
I love both the original version by the Chi--lites and the cover version by M C Hammer
