If I ever met Baard, I would not be able to sufficiently express my love, respect, and awe for his drumming. This was really great to hear his thoughts.
Saw him the first time Leprous came to Mexico city, they looked tired from all the touring but still delivered one of the best concerts i have ever seen.
@@hugorezende199 obviously Jojo Myer is also my favourite and follow him every day. .He is a legend but baard kolstad as a new modern drummer . ..fabulous
Maaan you are always spot on on yout question and aproaches on the drummers that you interview. Baard was happy and surprised by your quenstion at 11:10. Great content as always. You are doing a very good work on recordingd and handling those interviews (i don't know how you managed to interview all of them haha). And also, im a designer and a motion artisrt. Your intro for the RUclips channel are always great. Greetings from Brasil!
hey Hugo! thank you so much for the nice words, very much appreciated! How to interview all those guys? well, I guess I was lucky that most guests stayed in touch with me after our video shootings and so you can grow a network of people that eventually leads to the endorsers, managers etc. Since I'm doing this for quite some time now it's not that much of a struggle anymore since drumtalk has a reputation and nowadays many of my guests are actually looking forward to be on the show. Extra thanks for mentioning the intros, in fact you're like the 4th person ever to mention those -- I totally suck at motion graphics so everything has to be in camera and it takes almost as much time as doing a regular episode :-) it's always a challenge to come up with something new, so for me drumtalk is not only a school of drumming and talking but also a school of filming...
@@drumtalkofficial @drumtalk i said it was nice...but i didint said it was easy hahah. Yes, takes effort and time. Im dont have loads of experiênce on motion, im designer but im constantly evolving on this.i recently did a Lyric video, very jard stuff haha. As a drummer you are also doing a terrific job on this channel! 👏👏
thanks again! I've tried motion stuff here and there and I can pull off some rather simple lyric videos but I gave up on getting really good at this. I guess I'm a hands-on, crawl in the mud, make it work in real life kinda guy... ;-) old school, you know? hahaha But I have huge respect for everyone that walks the path of motion stuff, I friggin' love animation ;-) You can do so much with rhythm and visual art -- maybe I will ask some motion artists in the future to spice up my intros a little with their craft. So do your thing and get better at it buddy!
@@drumtalkofficial can i put the link to my latest work here for you to have a look? Could you give me some feed back? I enjoyed very much those intros of yours, amazing sounds and that nice pedal being played without foot.

Aside from Colombia, they also played here in Perú for... roughly 100 people. There wasn't any kind of promotion; no one knew that Leprous were going to play here. Had I been aware of it, I would have been there, first row.
I remember seeing him playing in Aker Brygge not long after I'd moved to Norway. I really need to give Leprous some more listening time as I've really only skimmed over their material online. Sounds to me like a lot of their creativity comes from Bård's patterns and expressivity on the kit. Great interview as usual. Not my upload, but I was able to see him right there ruclips.net/video/ZuOiqbungqI/видео.html
While that's partially very true that Baard puts immense creativity into the songs, as he mentioned Einar is the head writer and he's always oozing with new melodies and stuff. They are all amazing and I sometimes wonder if they've shared the same womb or something 😅
great drummer, no doubt about that, but i have also to admit that i've seen ''psychopath'' tendencies in his mimic. You can see it based on many photos and also his way of expressing emotions, very unatural and almost forced. Maybe he has autism?
Can't believe I used to pass this dude on the street when he was younger, playing his buckets in Oslo. Great to see that he has made it this far!
You pass him everyday on the street and you don't notice him 🤡 Mur-ray

Yes! His energy on the kit is just amazing!

he's one of the nicest and down to earth dudes ever. but i think he is grateful for all the support and love he gets
That "The Sky Is Red" outro is absolutely crushing. End of the world.
I just love how his fingers drum away throughout the interview. He’s just rhythm barely contained inside a human form

Philosophical drummer and he is very soulful about music. ..Always a very good teacher ...❤❤
Talking about philosophy and drums, the Jojo Myer interview he does is full on nice questions ans toughts about drumming as way of living.

12:30 "Gravity by Jojo Mayer", heheh... Fantastic interview!
He's such an inspiring an friendly person! He has changed my attitude towards drumming alot
my favorite drummer in the genre for sure.
Its typical Norwegian to be a beast on drums!
Really ? Interesting, What is it that makes Norwegians good in drumming ?
Man I love this interview series and I'm not even a drummer :D
When I saw Leprous live, Baard crushed it and was when I truly realized what an amazing drummer he is.
Excellent interview of the outstanding drummer from the best band ever!💖🔥👍

"I played in too many black metal bands". What a traitor, you should be grateful for that opportunities, especially to Ihsahn and Vortex.
Pretty sure he's allowed to make a little fun. Doubt anyone in those bands would take this as a negative comment.
