Baard Kolstad also performed the drums section of "The Black Page" by Frank Zappa when he was about 19.
Yikes Zilou!
This song is a masterpiece.
One of our times best drummers👌 Great reactvid🙏🏻
I spoke to a member of a band at one point and they were a magician in the side
HAHA! I knew it Liam
Neil passing away was horrible, but thanks to Baard, prog drumming does have a future. Leprous live is insanely good, really blew me away and I really recommend.
Rock on!
that was very very very good!! gotta check this band out now...such an epic song!!!
GREAT!
Thanks for this, and thank your patrons. I didn't know Leprous, and it sounds great! Will dive into their music now. Wooohoooo, a new great band found?
Please do! Great stuff Matthijs
Would it be fair to say that this piece is all about the drums, (I'm not a drummer btw), but the vocals and guitar sound out of step to the rythm and his drumming, for me really joins it all together, not just a rhythm piece. I'm blown away!
Oh interesting! I love the whole tune!!
One of the best prog bands out there. They are awesome live also!
Thanks Kelly! I'll have to check them out live
I totally feel you on the Gavin Harrison vibe. He has a very precise groove going. It's almost relaxing in a way and then *BAM* outrageous 2 to 4 bar fill. Then back to chilling. So good!
That's it Caleb!
He gets to play the most ultimate Final Fantasy Boss music ever.
this performance was the one that got me into Leprous, mint stuff
Me too Victor!
That was an experience...and he’s right...they are crazy Norwegians!
He's doing Audio Magic on you!!!! Dam, what a fuckin drummer!
Man I hope you get back to Leprous, def my fav
I will!
@@AndrewRooneyDrums you're too nice :^)
6:42 is how I look 24/7 while watching these drummers play.
Had to hit 'like' the second you said about the pinkies .. :-)
Breaking sticks and blowing minds is just an every day occurance for Mr. Baard Kolstad
Also, Leprous definitely has metal songs and it's quite interesting to see/hear Baard playing them
Nice video! Something I think you'd find interesting is in there live version of 'Contaminate Me' they've got not one but two drummers- both synced incredibly well. Even in the midway transition one of them gets up and hits the gong behind them!
You have GOT to do the obligatory Alex Rudinger - Xenochrist. I watch drum playthroughts pretty much all week and that's still my fav after all these years.
On the way!
