I am 70....20 years ago i was 2 player i Estonia ,on posaune.....😁😁....at now,i am an invaliid.....drums,posaune,bass...thei weit me at in garaaz.....🤣🤣
Boy what a lineup. Brought up on numbers like Hamps Boogie, memories of my father and his great 78's collection which has given me a lifelong love of jazz. Met the great Al Grey at a small gig in the early 80's and he signed an LP, " jazz is good for the heart" Treasured .
Gosh, Love those old cats. My father played with a couple of those guys. I did some playing. ( Playing piano)After my mom died, my dad remarried, he died 2 years later, his wife gave away his set of vibes, it took me a year or so to get over it. Now, I want to go get a set. Love that whole groove 🤭
wow dream team of musicians. I actually worked with Benny Golson and Panama Francis in NYC. We even honored Lionel Hampton with the FLO-BERT Award. Thanks for posting!
Its jazz, swing, blues all the lot in one go.Reminds me of my late Dad and all the great concerts we did together, Im 66 died 4 years ago age 90 Im watching this through tears and smiles, you feel this music its an emotion in the sole and its hard to explain unless you've seen all the greats live as I have albeit they were coming to the end of the era. Long may it continue
Oh I just love the musicians who sing and hum when they play like icon Oscar Peterson, organ phenom Jimmy Smith and my favorite pianist Erroll Garner. JUST BEAUTIFUL.
Extraordinary Jazz band it makes alive the woderful times of my youth, my mother is alive again and we are fully happy and thrilled with Lionel Hampton and all these memorable and artful musicians....jazz is simply put the music of God´s presence Thank you forever
Well worth the listen, great trombone I had to say that I'm an ancient trombonist myself, all the blokes are on their game, thanks RUclips. (Love the Piano).
Much as I love Lionel Hampton, this was, for the most part, a fairly meaningless improvisation by the ensemble. Plenty of individual skill, but not much coherence. The bassist meandered around with, seemingly, little harmonic sense - though his solo was impressive. The drummer did the stereotypical jazz drummer thing - though everybody smartened up at the end with the scripted riffs. Am I being unfair . . . ?
La rythmique de rêve : Junior Mance, Jimmy Woode, Panama Francis !! 😀
I am 67, and this is the best version of this theme I ever heard.
Have you heard Les Paul & Mary Ford's version?
I have.
And Ella singing it!?

Hamilton avait le talent pour s'entourer des meilleurs et avec lui au xylophone c'était vraiment des instants d'exception.
Hampton plutôt...
geniooooooooo!!!!!!
Isn't it Ornitology at the end?
Yes, the ornithology changes are from how high the moon so pepole use it in their solos and here as comping.
You can hear it in Ella fitgerald solos
As a tribute to Bird, I would imagine!
Kung naiintindihan mo to sana mabuhay kapa ng mas madaming tao. 👌
