Dude, my husband and I met in college when going for computer repair, programming/networking dual degrees. We are constantly astonished by how many "broken" laptops and pcs are given to us because people THINK they're getting rid of junk and we're the suckers but I've made thousands of dollars off of selling just the processors if we don't want yet another laptop or PC and just need to have parts handy. Right now I have a dozen laptops stacked up in my guest room that are just in need of very simple fixes that involve really cheap parts. It's just... Man. Sometimes I go back to the college I went to and ask my old advisor if there's anyone who NEEDS a laptop since nearly all of his course work is done in a lab sim program and requires a computer to do them.
I also had a similar experience with a laptop given to me by a relative. It was a Dell Latitude D630 and at first I didn't care too much about it as it came in with Windows XP, dual core, and 2gb ram. Later on, I found out you could easily plug in a better RAM, an SSD and a good Linux OS, this thing could still be usable. Well, clearly this video is a video that can point out why "Right to Repair" should be a right for around the world. Thus less waste and get good shit fixed.
Yeah but if everyone tried to repair stuff, we would create a hole market of scuffed shitty repaired stuff made with repaired tools because very few people wants to put effort on work
The worst part is that even after learning how some of it works, I still have no idea how any of it works. Learning how technology works makes it seem more like magic
The coolest part is I've been following this channel since he had somewhere around 36,000 subs, which ABSOLUTELY blew my mind at the time. The quality of his content has been stellar since day one; and even then I think he had 20 videos or something at that time (when I found his channel). My very first comment on one of his videos was something along the lines of --I can't believe you don't have 1 million+ subs based on the quality of your content-- And now it's about a year later, and BAM; He's got 1.4 Mill subs. Congrats 👏 to "I did a thing"! Still making quality entertaining and funny content! Completely unique to anyone else on RUclips.
I'll never forget the satisfaction I got from repairing a fishing reel for the first time. Not only did I save myself from buying a new reel, but I also gained a lifelong skill. Well, clearly this video is a video that can point out why "Right to Repair" should be a right for around the world. Thus less waste and get good shit fixed.
Yeah but if everyone tried to repair stuff, we would create a hole market of scuffed shitty repaired stuff made with repaired tools because very few people wants to put effort on work
No one is stopping you lol
@@juanacosta4351 Unlike you, I assume. You're not like those sheeple. You put maximum effort into EVERYTHING.
@@NotFine Yeah. If you want to repair your phone, just pull it apart. They just make it really hard for us to do.
@@laserbean00001 that's the problem. They make it so hard to even attempt a repair that you need unique tools and it ends up not being worth it.
"If everything around me broke, I would be held hostage in a room full of puzzles"
That's raw
This guy is just something else. I learn stuff and laugh my ass off at the same time. I love it!
3:30 I saw this joke coming and I still groaned out loud.
“I’ve discovered a big secret, your useless”
I discovered that a long while ago
Reese Barrs I know right?! How can it be that difficult to understand? These people are stupid.
@@Zemog23 bloody hell we got next level grammar police
A- Animates lol. I don’t care about anything except “You’re”, and “Your” because those annoy me the most.
*you're
But it was a secret. Now it's not
The worst part is that even after learning how some of it works, I still have no idea how any of it works.
Learning how technology works makes it seem more like magic

Yep
I can agree but it is magic because of big words
I only watch your videos at 3 am , and I feel this is an important fact to share .
"I'm not a scrap boi-"
"How can they tell?"
*"Probably the skinny jeans."*
"You're useless, I'm useless, we're all absolutely useless"
You sure you don't meant to say 'Squidward'?
I'm sure he "do not meant" to say that.

Why do I feel like these grammar comments aren't sarcasm
Everyone's gangsta till the baby starts speaking enchantment table

This reminds me of Dragon age dwarfs.* enchantment? ENCHANTMENT!
Wow that’s a lot of likes ty guys

Even your 3 year old videos are great! It's cool that you were able to fix all of those broken tools!

3:25 based on what I know about this channel I can already tell where this is going.
This man is like a cartoon character, He wears the same clothes for ever video.
Mello ! Are you sure, he might never change clothes
all the videos have been shot in 1 day only
The coolest part is I've been following this channel since he had somewhere around 36,000 subs, which ABSOLUTELY blew my mind at the time.
I'd love a channel where someone just pulled things apart and tried to work out what everything was inside, and how it works
Hell yeah, now we got business.

Why not both?
Hmm, Never thought about that
i mean sure, what could go wrong with an existensial crisis
Sound like a good time to me
Your username is "what am I doing with my life" so it sounds like you were already having a crisis
Repairing broken things is always super exciting.
I love opening things up and admiring all the internal workings and precision of the components.
I'll never forget the satisfaction I got from repairing a fishing reel for the first time. Not only did I save myself from buying a new reel, but I also gained a lifelong skill. All because I decided to tinker with something for a few hours. Learning how something works piece by piece can be frustrating at first, but is almost always worth it if you have the time.
