    The reason for a double headed axe: lumberjacks who got paid by the tree actually needed differently ground edges. One was used to remove bark, including moss and maybe little stones and all that, and the other edge had a more flat grind and was solely for cutting the clean wood. Thus allowed them to cut trees down more easily without having to re-sharpen their axes all the time

The toxic-yet-non-volatile fumes that would build up (if there's any space in the can to fill it with gas) would probably ruin the oxygen-gas mixture to cause an explosion. But we don't know how full the can is, nor do we know how thick the cans are. Fun fact for anyone who sees this. A double bit axe has two blades for a reason other than looking cool. It has to do with edge retention in different materials. One side of the axe is sharpened to a different angle than the other. The sharper of the two sides is for chopping higher up on the tree, where you aren't in danger of smashing your axe into the ground, and the other side is for work closer to the ground, where the different angle is a sturdier edge that won't take as much damage when you invariably clip the ground by accident.

    • @Ezekiel_Allium
      @Ezekiel_Allium 4 года назад

      And I'll take a wild guess that's the reason historical battleaxes usually had one axe. Humans dont have bark, and you dont want the extra weight if you're gonna be carrying that thing around all day, let alone fighting with it.
      On the other hand, there are in fact double bitted battleaxes, the examples I've seen coming from Mongolia and India. These are easily explained as relics from the asian wars against the tree people of venus, who did indeed have bark, before the brave warriors of the east used their second axe blade to remove it of course.

    The purpose of a double bit axe is that one side is used for things like bark which blunt a sharp edge And the other is saved for wood only. This means you can cut many things with one tool and not worry about blunting it

    "Is that the piece of metal I placed earlier for this video?" You are wrong that's my late grandma's scratch metal you stole yesterday from my house. Do you know how precious that was for my grandma? She would scratch her back with it peeling the skin off. She died from tetanus early this year. You will pay this with your life, you thief.

    The only historical reference I'm aware if for double headed axes being used for chopping was to give a variety of cutting vs chopping edges on a single tool. By changing the angle of your edge. You can make a more sturdy or more precise edged tool.

  • @gdogg3209

    double head axes were ment so that when loggers had one very sharp edge and one sacrificial edge they would use near the ground.

      @@High_Tech_Priest Nope, quite the opposite, actually.
      Go look up a typical Viking axe. They're very light compared to something like a hatchet.
      It doesn't need to be heavy, it's hitting flesh, not wood.

    01:35 I guess it’d be so for example:
    You’re fighting an enemy, and you finish them off, but as you’re finishing them off, a second enemy comes from behind and you can just swing the axe backwards and kill them instantly.
    Oh yeah, and in battle, you can just spin like a beyblade
