Russia wants to be very close to a few nations that are the most at risk (Egypt, Saudi Arabia, African nations, etc.) so that grain will be allowed to get out of the black sea 2. Prices of food - wheat price is extremely low and has been the past few months. This is the opposite of what you'd expect in a food crisis So, in summary, mass food crisis/starvation is unlikely to happen due to the war. The other risks of mass starvation (domestic turmoil/logistical breakdown, China's lockdowns, etc.) were all risks before the war and unrelated/unlikely to cause a serious event.
