- This is a breakdown of the first teaser trail for The Veilguard - views will change with more information and trailers/gameplay reveals.
Don't forget about the gameplay reveal tomorrow! 11th June, 4pm in the UK.
We all have our opinions, and I think we should remain respectful to everyone's perspective - I'm not about to gatekeep happiness, and I hope this game comes out and I'll have a blast with it.
Not gonna lie, I can't wait for this to settle down so I can go back to chill videos about lore XD

To me the trailer feels like a Varrick story and they're always fantastical.
Nah dog the trailers from dragon age inquisition captures varric’s vibe more
The Darkspawn look goofy to me, like they’ve got googly eyes.
The horror of darkspawn is that they were people before they were corrupted they’ve just gotten less and less horrific as the games went on
They look like kingdom hearts monsters
They weren't people! They were spawned by a broodmother, the most horrifying thing I've ever looked at, which used to be a person! @@HamonmyMind
so i do have to bring up, and i know Solas is ending the world and all, but the end of absolution has Meredith being alive leading the red templar and declaring war on Tevinter, and no one is talking about it, sorry i had to put this somewhere as its been eating me alive.

Bro I didn't know that Meredith survived until like a week before. I did not expect that.
I haven't addressed the knife/blade because I have 0 thoughts on it - but just so people know, I'm aware of it's existence, and the fact Rook has it (technically they had it way back when in the leaks). It exists XD
*there are now thoughts, but it's late here so tomorrow I'll talk about the dagger.
Zero thoughts ? But it looks like the same one solas is holding up to the green eclipse or whatever it is which is red at the end, it seems our toon has that very dagger

I hear we can create our Inquistor again in the character creation. Bit like BG3 where we finally finish our character and then we make another🤣
24:35 why did they choose the old necromancer as the bait for the dragon. Grandpa should be at home enjoying retirement not being chased by a giant lizard. For a while there I thought the rest of the video would be talking about the griffin but you are right we are going to need that griffin to get older and bigger as the game progresses. That would be great
I think the one disappointment for me with the companion line up, was I was hoping the Qunari would have been a mage this go around. Would have been nice to get one of them that wasn't a martial class
Inquisition was cartoon realistic, vs the New trailer which is Disney fantasy. The game play and combat look good but the colors are still Disneyland bright. DA once had its own style and look. Varric was once a blond and Solas once cared about the harm that innocents were facing due to Corypheus tampering with the Veil and powers they could not control.
It would be sick if we could customize the prosthetic while making the Inquisitor
Saw someone say the tone of the trailer is because Varric is narrating and it’s as if he made the trailer himself

I think it looks like Bellara comes out of the fade and I don't have a problem with that. It's been 10 years since the events of inquisition, rift magic must have progressed since then. But I would love if it's a bit unpredictable
I’m predicting now that Varrick is going to be the Duncan of this game. As in he’ll recruit you and then die kinda early on.

they showed 15 seconds or so of game play footage today to make fans happy, cuz they kept complaining about the trailer and from what i saw it doesnt look a bit cartoonish like people think or thought,
The gameplay look exactly the same. The trailer is in engine. So the art assets are the same for the actual game.
Yes, I realize it’s probably been a year or two since the Inquisition disbanded, but Varric looks soooo different. Also, didnt he say he hated beards? And now he’s rocking one. Just all these little details aggravate me.
If varric does die he can die knowing bianca will be in good hands

Excuse me? Apparently I have missed something. We only have 2 companions with us in this game? Is Bioware insane? Those Dragon fights were difficult enough with a party of four, nevermind a party of three.
It’s going to be more like mass effect, you can be a hybrid. Like a rogue/mage or warrior/mage or whatever. You would probably be more power and rely on yourself rather than your team’s support
It's an action rpg now. With mass effect "use companion skill" button. With a pause for some reason.
I'm fine with small parties, I only care about a good story and interesting characters
This was great! I do like the you can romance anyone in game, attitude, because i know i created my inquisitor just to romance Cullen 😄 However, I do hope there is a moment where, when you decide who you want to romance In DATV that it kind of locks out the other companions, Just to avoid any heartbreak - Also hoping the in game graphics are slightly less cartoon because i'm finding it hard to imagine romance scenes if the animations are a bit too fortnitie? but i'm remaining hopeful!🤞
I haven't read the story where they heal the griffon eggs but what if by healing the eggs the newly born griffons and their descendants are immune or at least highly resistant to the Blight

Male gaze and sexy feminine female characters are no longer a thing in Bioware by ESG standard. But i think the next target is gonna be female gaze. I have a feeling of strong, muscular, faithful male characters slowly being degraded somehow. Hence, I'm very interested in how they gonna portray the male characters this time.
I just saw a tweet from BioWare saying that you get to recreate your inquisitor in character creation along with rook!

Good Spot with the Qunari banners in the bar scene, given that detail I'd guess the bar is somewhere in Rivain since the scene looks warm and also very human and the idea of a Bar on Par Vollen just seems off to me but Rivain as a Human Nation with a Large Population of Converts to the Qun fits the bill better than any other candidate I think.

I disagree that it's a bad trailer and disagree that it shouldn't have been shown. Faithful Dragon Age fans saw those old trailers and got hyped to take on Solas. Casual fans or newbies saw that Xbox trailer and got hyped. Actually. I watched a few streamers who were all in on the vibe and characters and were interested in DA for the first time. I think if you put it on a stage that big you use a trailer like that one. I also think it fits tonally as Varric telling a story.
Casual or new players are going to be very disappointed if they get a dark gritty rpg instead of the next live service looter shooter.
@@reptiliancow I think if you got a game with the tonality of Dragon Age 2 or Inquisition after that trailer, a new player wouldn't be disappointed. I truly don't think it's that far off. We're not getting a Dragon Age Origins 2, That's not the game they want to make. But I don't think a trailer is as fortnite or OverWatch or Disney as all of these clickbait titles and catastrophizers make it out to be

"faithful" fans wont waste 50cents on this slop let alone 70+ dollars. The game looks like fortnite, no one, not one wanted a change of art style. And why, if Solas is trying to end the world is everyone having a blast of a time? Happy go lucky goofy vibes? We got a fade hopping quirky uwu chick. Because it wasnt already stated and shown that fade hoping is not only incredibly hard, but has a vastly high mortality rate. We got a "mage killer" A TEMPLAR... What are they scared of religion now? A game series that was centered around religion since day 1. Even the name screams uuuggghhh "The Veilguard" Why??? Dreadwolf made far more sense considering that's Solas's real moniker. Harding.....They gave her a jawline she NEVER HAD. And look at that Qunn...look at it... It looks like it hasn't had a meal since the dawn of Andraste. This looks like a cash grab, nothing more. Some goofy, quirky DEI riddled slop. A "game" that is trying to capitalize on what the series used to represent. A great series.....turned to Fortnite. Anyone who pays money for this deserves to lose their money, and they will. Far more people will not buy this than will. I can hear the article now..."DA Veilguard seemed to underperform, and the plan we had for dlc will be postponed to see why.....And it will never be released because it will be canceled. DA Veilguard, dead on announcment.

To say I did not like the trailer is putting it mildly... NOTHING in this looked, sounded or felt like Dragon Age...
The two companions max is annoying because it’s just such an unnecessary change
