That's fascinating, Cú Chulainn has some similarities with King Arthur now that I think of it, could the legend of King Arthur have come from the legend of Cú Chulainn and then slowly changed the more it spread further from it's origin. 🤔

The Ash Warriors are much cooler warband, than I thought.

I don't think they are so much as absolved of any past responabilites but that when a criminal joins the Ash Warriors it is like joining the Wardens or Legion of the Dead where sure technically your no longer considered guilty and must face due punishment but that being an Ash Warriorr is a for life commitment. Should you try to leave the Order you will die (though for the Ash Warriorrs it is beheaded for dessertion.)

Game designers and novelist use legends like this because they are good building blocks. All you have to do is change a few things here and there and boom, you've got a legend of your own. Look at Lord of the Rings or HP Lovecraft, and you will be shocked at the similarities between real-world stories.
