  • This is a brief overview of Dalish beliefs - the foundation of their culture and religion.
    An overview of all the gods, and then a storytelling portion where I go over all the legends regarding them in order (some were left out because they didn't fit a storytelling narrative- but all of the gods are accounted for).

    The word for the sun in elvish is elgara.
    So I would surmise that this primeval deity, Elgar'nan's father, is called Elgara to the elves.
    The Land/Earth is a little harder to discern, because I can't find any instance of land/earth having an equivalent in the elven tongue.
    The closest guess I would have is "An" - as An is added to elven words to give an indication of place/location. Eg. Arlathan, Solasan, Elvhenan, Abelasan, etc.
    I've also seen on the wiki that the land/earth is called 'Alas' or 'Vhen'alas', but I've been unable to find a source for that claim.
    So;
    The Sun = Elgara
    The Earth/Earth = unknown, possibly "An", "Alas" or "Vhen'alas"
    But never have the elves ever called these 'deities' by anything other than the english 'sun/land/earth'. I just thought it was worth mentioning the elvish.

    It kinda sounds like Elgar’nan was made tranquil?

      I really like that idea - I wonder if the possibility of tranquility in Elvhenan will be addressed in the new game?
