Hi. I have a 1990 Convertable Jaguar XJ-S which I am restoring after it spent 12 years unused in a garage before I bought it at auction. I have already replaced the calipers and brake shoes etc in the front wheels succesfully. I found your video extremely interesting, thank you. I have just purchased new rotors, calipers and brake shoes etc from SNG Barratt and would appreciate any help you could give me especially if you have made a video doing the back brakes. I do not have access to a high lift ramp so would have to strip out the old items from around the differential doing the work on my drive with ramps, axle stands and jack lift etc. I look forward to hearing from you, and look forward to seeing more of your videos also. Regards John Chipchase. Cambridge.
Hi John, thanks for the comment and were are glad you're enjoying your XJS! At the moment we don't have a rear brakes video. For further info on parts it would be best to contact the team on 01746 765432. Thanks, SNG Barratt.
Hi Pete, good to see you, I’ve got one of those, same colour, spec, wheels etc. But 58k miles … and it’s up in the air waiting for … the rear disks doing. Best, Al
Hi Alastair, thanks for leaving a comment. Great to hear that your XJS is still going strong, once those rear disks are sorted you'll be back on the road!
I am glad joined SNG Barratt, I have 1985 XJS six cylinder standard that I have problem with rear gear, it won't engage, do you have any suggestion, Thank you
Great to see SNG making these videos. Did you replace the metal pipe between the calliper and the flex hose, or just reuse it? Just wondering as you didn’t mention it. Thanks.
A lot of people fail to realise a hose can swell inside allowing high pressure fluid into the caliper, but not allowing it to return. This give the symptom of seized caliper.
I absolutely love these cars I love how complicated overly engineer they are. Thank you for your video.
I love the lines of XJS coupes. 😎
They're nothing short of beautiful!

A video on the rear inboard brakes would be great, just subscribed to the channel. Cheers from Mexico
Thanks for subscribing Alfredo! We'll hopefully get a video on the rear inboard brakes put together in the future!

Great video I was surprised you did not treat the backplate to a coat of paint to prevent further rusting good though well done.

Pointless, you showed nothing of how the brake lines come apart through the body. Waste of time.
