Exactly what I was looking for. Personally I prefer the quads to the single. For me, they are classier looking. Obviously a personal preference. Loved the humor interspersed within the procedure description. I to have the knee and hand (dropping all small parts) problems that plague many of the older set. The extendable magnet has become one of my favorite tools as of late also.
Rectangles all the way - You dont mess with the classic & original. You look at an XJS parked sitting there, it looks like a cat just laying there eyes half open/close resting but aware and poised. Theres that imagary, that mind slip connection to that type thing. Its the lines, sleekness, class, style the quads just kill all that, changes that whole aesthetic still looks ok, but that romance is lost. I've had 3 XJS and yeh them big lights dont last & seriously thought about sourcing quads as an "edgey custom" but had it told to me in 86 with the release of the XJ40 only the budget models had quads while the Sovereign's & Daimler's had rectangles ( outside of the US) right hand drive with quads will make it look a low spec model & cheap variant. Only car enthusiasts know the reason for quads "the Us market", Dont mess with it, it wont add value to the car, keep original he talked me out of doing it.
Hi Richard P The numbers on the video seemed a bit confusing to me as well. Try SBS9204 (pre-facelift) or SBS9204FL ( face-lift ). Why do people put # in front of part numbers?? It's not Twitter 😀. Speak to Willy @sng USA, he's a very helpful and knowledgeable partsman.
I find this vid slightly amusing, as I suspect a lot of us Yanks would want to do the exact opposite! If I had an XJ-S, I would want the ones you're taking out! Problem here is we are forced to find ones from the continent (LHD). As it is I just picked up a '73 XJ6 and one of my early jobs is to fit the proper 7" outers - when my car was new, our automotive lighting regulations still dated from the 1940's including you couldn't put two sizes of headlamps on. Same with my BMW e28. Complete shite.
IMO the twin head lamps look much better 🇭🇲

I love and prefer the Quads having that classi look to them. Are these uprated with replaceable bulbs instead of the OE sealed beams that the USA got?
I have fitted a set to my car and can confirm they are replaceable.

How about stocking replacements for the Euro style lights (left and right drive). No one has the originals.
