This one is definitely beginner friendly and worth trying. I started crocheting 2 weeks ago and completed my first beanie in just 2 days. It looks absolutely cute! If you're wondering what to start with, I highly recommend this. It takes only 50-75gr of yarn and it is super easy to make!
weird question but how like big is your head and how long did you make the beanie before you stitched it together? im making a beanie with two colors and im not sure how long to make it
This took me about 6 hours all together (I am a total newbie to crochet) and I am wearing my beanie as I type this!! THANK YOU! I will say that it definitely came out a bit wonky as my stitches weren't perfectly consistent, but it fits, it's warm, and looks pretty close to a beanie I would actually buy. I'm going to make a bunch more until I master it, and donate my "wonky" beanies to a homeless shelter since they are still warm and wearable, just not perfect. This is soooo much fun.
Definitely not taking an hour BUT I should have it finished in less than a day total time working on it so definitely super easy! Thanks for the tutorial this is my first beanie!
Right!!! I have been doing working on it for 5-6 hours 😅 and all i can hear is “you’ll be able to finish in well under an hour!” Bs, this is a days work!
Thank you so much for this tutorial!! I just wanted to let all the new crocheters like myself know some helpful tips I learned while making this beanie! 1. At the start of every row, go into that first ever stitch on the row (YES, the one that the chain on your hook is attached to). I thought I wasn’t supposed to so I skipped it every row until I realize it was having a decreasing affect on my work and started making it less of a rectangle and more a triangle! 2. At the end of each row, for me at least, it kind of curves down and gets hard to see the end stitches. So if you have this problem, at the end of the row, I would start looking at the stitches leading up to the ones that curve away and I find the very last stitch. The last stitch can be very hidden but trust, it is the small, hard to see stitch you see and you’re not sure if you should use that one, use it! I hope my explanation was easy to understand and I hope that it helps those who had the same issue as I did!
Took me 2 1/2 hours 🎉 ! The fit it perfect even with wearing knotless braids. Can’t wait to make color variations and play around with different designs. Thank you for this tutorial 🫡
Just tried this out and it was SO easy. Took me a few hours bc i was watching TV but the process was extremely beginner friendly and I cant wait to make more! :D
omg finally a beanie tutorial that doesn’t require a magic circle 😍😭 i’m a beginner at crocheting and been wanting to make a beanie for so long i’m definitely making thisssss 🙏
I made this hat and it's a very good pattern and it was easy to follow. However I had to make some changes to it so it would fit my head better. Instead of crocheting 22 inches(which ended up being too wide for me) I did 19 inches and then stitched the seams as mentioned in the pattern. This all also depends on the yarn you are using, I used some anti pilling acrylic yarn and a 4mm hook. This was my experience and I hope it helps somebody^^
I just finished making this beanie though I used a different yarn and it took me a few more hours than you to finish. A very easy pattern, thank you very much.
Just finished my first beanie using this tutorial in a little under a month.... 😩😭 But it came out so cute! Definitely making more! Thanks for the amazing tutorial!!!
i finished making this last week and i was so shocked to see that the final project looked like something out of a store!!!!! thanks erin for the tutorial
I’m new to crocheting and got this done in about two hours. I only ended up doing 42 rows because I was lazy but it’s so cute and it’s the first tutorial I’ve followed where something didn’t go wrong lol💖
i am lost for words….this is my first time making this and you are the most AMAZING PERSON EVER.I AM DEFINITELY SUBSCRIBED TO YOUR CHANNEL. IT TURNRED OUT REAL NICE AHHHHHH….only thing is that i split it up into two colors. the way to do that is to do 24 rows one color and then 24 in the other
This is the perfect beanie! It took a few hours, and I made it a little smaller because I knew it would stretch. It’s literally perfect thank you so much
@@kiddiemeal5519 hi, I used the impeccable yarn, it’s 127.5g and there’s over half a skein left. Although I didn’t crochet the whole 22 inches. I stopped around 16 inches because it stretched to my head size and I wanted it snug.
i finished it! i’ve only made hats on that circular loom and i found this way to be actually a lot easier and quicker. your tutorial was so clear and perfect, and you have the best voice for teaching.
Omg same I usually just used a round loom that took a long time but I started crocheting and barely thought of making a beanie I’m currently still working on the 11 by 22 I’m still at 11 by 12 inch 😩
Starting my beanies today!! I bought two types of yarn to make a warmer and a lighter one! This seems easy enough for a beginner of a few weeks; Cant wait! ❤️❤️
I just finished making my black beanie! It was a little harder since I used super thin yarn so it took a while to do, and black isn't the easiest color to see lol. But I did it!! Thanks for the super easy tutorial on this, Erin :)
I just made my first ever crochet (except for those coasters i made just for practicing) but yeaaah!! I made a bonnet for my brother because he wants one and OMG he liked it and im so proud of myself 😭💙 thank you so much for this tutorial! I love youuuuuu 😭💙💙💙💙

Oh my god I'm literally running out of the house after watching this to get some more yarn, this seems much easier that my first one that I just finished!!
Thank you for this! Im glad that this is very beginner friendly tutorial because this is my VERY first project. It took me 2 days, it took me about 8 mins on average to finish a row and I did about 18 rows so it took me about 2.4 hours in total to complete it.

Thank you for this video. I'm trying to make a present and this is so helpful for a beginner. It's one of the only videos that has a cute project AND gives the size of the needle and yarn. I also like that it wasn't too fast or filled with unnecessary talking. Thank you

This was my first crochet project. It took me a bit to get the first 2 rows to work out, but I ended up finishing this in just a few days. I just had to remember to keep my stitches loose in the beginning.
One I would LOVE u to do is, do one like the 'black & white' beanie the guy was wearing, to know exactly how to determine the number of stitches for each half. For some it's simple. I actually want to split ONE SIDE into 2 different colors..... TOP HALF (on 1 side only) is one color & bottom HALF another color... but remember only half of the hat would have these 2 colors. Basically I am splitting the hat down the middle. The LEFT side is ALL ONE COLOR. The RIGHT side is 2 COLORS...1 color on TOP, other color on the BOTTOM ...making the 2 colors the complete RIGHT side of the cap. (As if splitting it down the middle). I'm going to try it. May end up tearing it out, won't give up though. If careful, I should be able to figure it out. I'm 71, so being older might help...haha! Wish me luck!! Thanks for a GREAT VIDEO!!!!! Lana :) Happy Thanksgiving 2022!!!
I made one and it’s very nice! It was so easy to follow! The only mistake I made in my part was using Caron simply soft yarn because it came out in a size more suitable for a baby 😅 it’s okay though, I’ll try again but I’ll make it bigger :)
can you do a tutorial on your multicolored beanies? I can tell you’re not just doing stripes it’s less consistent and i like it way better. I also would love to know how you made the folded edge of the white and black hat to be the opposite color
Thank you so much for this!! I have just made a split colour one for my brother for christmas and it only took me around 4 hours or so. This was so well explained and super easy to follow
@@louisa7043 I just used one of his actual beanies as reference and then when my rectangle was about half the length I wanted it to be in total, I fastened off with a slip stitch and then joined with the second colour to start the next row and complete the other half x
@@manuelawh ooh alright! Thank you! And how did you get the reverse colour on the edge row on the folded up part of the beanie? That’s what confuses me the most 😅😅

That’s what confuses me the most 😅😅
@@louisa7043 if i remember rightly, once i’d finished I just did a row of slip stitches all the way along the bottom in the alternate colour (and obvi swapped when i got half way to the other colour)
@@manuelawh aaahh thank you so much for your help! I will try that ^^ have a wonderful day :))
Found you on instagram and wanted to try this one as my very first crochet piece. I am struggling to find which one is the first chain on every row, and which one is the last, I never know where to stop 🤦♀️ I guess I have to be okay with the fact that I may not be perfect ! Thank you for the tutorial !
This might be really stupid, but what do you mean when you say "pull up a loop"?😅
