What reading are you looking for in the continuity test?
The "continuity" mode on a multimeter will tell you either yes or no if there's continuity in the circuit, usually indicated by a noise. There's no "measurement" per se.
if you want an alternative, you can check the resistance instead and see if you get a value or OL, the latter meaning there is some sort of lack of continuity somewhere.

Are you familiar with the Ethernet IC chip on the PS4 Pro (GST5009S)? I recently had a lightning strike and my PS4 Pro turns on, but is having the no video signal issue. When I opened it, it is clear that this IC is burned. Can this cause similar symptoms to the HDMI issue?

What if I didn't use soldering iron after using hot air?
Have an issue with my Pro where whenever I would remove the hdmi cord it wouldn’t always work. I would have to unplug and replug the hdmi. Eventually it stopped displaying. Checked it and a filter was blown. Replaced filter then a green box displayed. Tried taking a encoder off of a donor board and now have BLOD. This can be a very frustrating process. Would recommend only using known good encoder/components
Does the chip have to be oriented in a specific direction, ie: is there a specific right/left, top/bottom?
99.9% of the time any chip will. You can look up the specific chip and usually get a schematic for it to verify.
Yea there fuse there as well that pops that you must check as no point just checking fillers I have had it before that it's just the fuse and no picture no signal it's seldom but it also happens

Both are compatible on ps4 pro and slim but the fact that their serial numbers change? when I replace it with solder will it be compatible?

@ViiNZ10 MN864729 is the only number to worry about, yes they are the same chip. The mn52p60nn or 650z070 doesn't matter.
