    One thing that I always appreciate about a theme park is if it's noticable that they're being aggressive and innovative. But also that they're knowledgeable about their weaknesses and address them in a great way. Look at what they did with the updates to Sidewinder this year. Transforming the entire front of the park to go along with a crowd-pleasing coaster in Candymonium several years back. Stepping their game up with a brand new expanded Halloween event. Now upgrading a lower tier wooden coaster to what's sure to be top 3 in the park and will help spread out crowds towards the back. Things like that are what enticed me to get a season pass for this park.

    The fact of lack of airtime isn’t that big of a deal because remember this is Hershey they have an elite insane ejector machine in skyrush. A floater in candy but even the other rides still manage to have airtime like Fahrenheit and storm runner I think this is a great fit

The original first drop is now the dive out of the underflip, so the entire lift structure is moved back and brand new. It crosses over from where one section of ride was to entirely different sections of the original structure multiple times. This is a really creative renovation.

    this honestly looks like one of the best RMC layouts to me. it’s got just enough airtime (my favorite sensation on a coaster) 2 zero-g rolls (my favorite inversion type) and 2 other inversions that are basically variations of a zero g roll. I also agree that I tend to prefer steep, non-vertical drops to vertical drops. I also like that it doesn’t feature any quick transition outer banked type elements. I haven’t experience a big, drawn out outerbanked element like the outerbanked camelback on Steel Vengeance (which everyone claims as one of the best, if not the best airtime element on an RMC), but the high-five element on the 2nd run of Twisted Colossus that does a quick outerbank and then twists back is super uncomfortable (almost painful) to me, and there is another quick outerbank towards the end of the ride that’s super uncomfortable as well. rapid fire outerbanked elements like that just don’t feel natural to me and are among some of my least favorite coaster elements. Wildcat’s Revenge just looks super smooth and fluid, with a good mix of airtime and inversions. as someone who lives on the West Coast, I hope to make it to Hersheypark one day to ride this and the rest of their amazing coaster lineup.

    As someone who wants HersheyPark to lean all the way in into the candy theme, I didn't expect to love the name Wildcat's Revenge but I do. It's badass and continues to pay homage to HersheyPark's first roller coaster ever. And I prefer this to anything with Iron, Steel, Twisted, etc. which is becoming overrated to me. That's just me though.
    The biggest pleasant surprise to me is how much more track this coaster will have. I get how though. While the original Wildcat progressed from the front towards the back with small circles in between, the RMC uses this to make multiple out-and-back sections, reaching further to the back before returning to the front and then whirling around the back again. That's genius. A very short ride duration would've been my biggest disappointment but it looks like this will be satisfactory.

    I rode Wildcats Revenge and I give it a 9.5/10 it is a balanced ride it not to inversion heavy or airtime heavy it’s a perfect balanced ride. I just take off half a point because on every coaster unless its Great Nor Easter which can’t get better. Every coaster has room for improvement. It feels complete it has to warm up and that’s my only complaint. The ride itself is a 10/10 but the coaster is not perfect

    Instead of renaming the ride after a Hershey's candy product.....flip the script. Hershey's should launch a new candy and theme it after the new coaster. 🧠 💨

    Looks amazing can't wait to ride it next time I visit Hersheypark! Surprised they didn't keep the original Wildcat open one more year and open this one in 2024 because maybe it's just me but it seems like Hersheypark has this trend of opening new roller coasters in presidential election years. Does anyone else notice that?

    I'm also glad that finally Hersheypark has an RMC, but a little disappointed that GCI didn't do a hybrid conversion instead, but oh well it is what it is. It looks amazing though. To me I don't care what the size of it was going to be I'm just happy with what the outcome is already. It'll be fun no matter what the stats and height are.

    If "Wildcat" had been the park's singular/ONLY GCI, I wouldn't have honestly cared about this announcement at all, such as I never will if "Roar" at SF America got RMCed, except they only have one GCI and a titan track (not the whole thing) makeover with maybe a singular inversion and the Infinity Flyer trains would be awesome. However, in Hershey's case, they have the GCI that took them from building a few to being basically the premier wooden roller coaster manufacturer. RMC makes steel coasters, let's just be honest here, hybrids topper or whatnot. So, seeing what they have planned to an actually rough GCI (was improved when they put in the GCI MF trains but even with retracking it hasn't withstood time) when they still can boast about Lightning Racer (which these days is becoming underrated). Now we just need El Toro next (or call GCI and do Titan and an inversion, ik they can do a retracking like Heide Park did for Collosus but the intamin trains still suck), you don't have to make gigantic alterations in order to make El Toro a very good RMC. People deserve better than "speedbumps" and "band-aids" due to poor maintenence with that one. Also I want "Revenge" in it's title too, why not I mean it may be an intamin pre-fab but RMC did put it together.

    Not eally sure I understand why they went with three trains and load/unload rather than just two trains and a combined station. Now they pretty much have to run three trains all the time otherwise the capacity will be horrible.
    Agree about the multimove. I find it very strange that Steel Vengeance does not have it and yet Twisted Timbers does. Guessing it has something to do with that opening day bump which had nothing to do with the control system and everything to do with the untried braking hardware.

    With Wildcat, GCI designed a very visually striking layout. The RMC version has a kinda meh appearance. It might be more fun to ride now, so there's that. But, I'm a bit disappointed we're losing GCI's first coaster, which was a radical looking design when first built.

  • @kirblar
    @kirblar Год назад

    With Twisted Timbers so close, going for a hyper airtime focused RMC would be redundant and not as good an attraction for the park as opposed to a more jack-of-all-trades layout. Same reason we would expect a possible BGW RMC to be focused in a different direction.
