It's good to see Mark Ruffalo branching out and doing self help videos.

He’s back! Been waiting for an upload! Great video, I really needed that. I really related towards the end of the video when you spoke upon stacking the wins and not worry to much on the “gap” when it comes to accomplishing your goals.
I’m currently in prep for a bodybuilding show in 8 weeks and I sometimes catch myself dwelling on how far it is and how I want show day to just come. But I made a mental shift to just be fully present in the moment and keep on stacking these wins everyday. This video was just a great reminder, thanks Andrey. Keep inspiring!

Thanks for the vid Andrey. Food for thought for sure.
I definitely relate to the thought process of self respect being dependent on achievement and can see how beginning from a state of self respect is beneficial instead. What I struggle with is the idea of inherently being worthy of self respect. Why is that the case? it's hard to have that mindset when (external) feedback from the world around you/just living life suggests that you're worthless unless you achieve (reinforcing the self respect dependency on achievement thought process).
To provide further context - I'm a guy and from my experience, unless a guy provides some sort of value in some way, they're not worthy of external respect in society. So as a guy, if you are incompetent/haven't achieved (either self perceived or objectively), it's hard to just conjure up baseline self respect when the world suggests you're worthless by default. If that makes sense...not sure I've articulated my thinking here too well

So the destination is every day, and every aware choice to stack small wins?

    complacency is not something
to mess around with. I’d rather be miserable for the rest of my life than to stop growing and learning

The truth is, the self is illusion. Transcend the 'self' you're not the self, you never were. Realize you're the WITNESS or the awareness. I'm telling you, if you go after one thing, there will pop up 10 more. This is why people are in therapy for 10+ years and they haven't gotten anywhere.
Transcend it, go deep and develop a meditation habit. God bless.

This is exactly what I needed as I've been on this path that I discovered recently. I guess the algorithm does work in this case because I've been researching and learning about self-respect/worth/esteem. I was in love deeply and truly with a girl once but I fucked it up big time AND hurt myself even worse, all because of my utter lack of said three things. I finally discovered the source of almost all of my issues. I can't wait for your next video you mentioned you might make. I already bookmarked that book you mentioned. There's not time to lose. Thank you for this video! ❤
