I bought two Galaxy S7 yesterday for my wife and I at Best Buy. To my surprise, they said we each get a "free" Gear VR w/ our purchase because of a promotion they had. I thought, if it's free, it's probably junk, boy was I wrong. I got mine setup this morning and I got to say, this thing is pretty damn awesome! I have only got to the 360 pictures from around the world so far but I can honestly say, I would have paid the $100 price tag knowing what I know now. I can't wait to give movies/ Netflix and gaming a try! My wife is going to love this thing, can't wait to set it up for her when she gets home from work!
Not that I use this for commuting (I just don't trust strangers to not mess with me). The netflix app has a mode just for this. If you look straight up into the chandelier in the main room, you see it says "void theater", this moves you out into a void, where you can personally adjust the size of the viewing screen and activate a commute mode, that disables the gyro and fixes the screens position.
I have had that happen for streaming content. But downloaded content was better. . But it still has some way to go before it can compete with Sony, HTC or others
I used that for almost 6 months.Over heat issue is the big problem but I have already method of that and its way to cool no hung no over heating warning everything is fine now.
I tested it out but unfortunately it's not there yet for me. It isn't the Gear's fault, but the phone's fault. The resolution is just too low, and you can clearly see each and every pixel, which just kills it for me, it's uncomfortable to look at and it doesn't feel immersive at all because I'm constantly aware I'm looking through a screen.
I use the gear with my s6 edge plus and i am getting way more than an hour use out of it with no overheating so far battery life has been surprisingly good too
If I'm in my bedroom, my S6 Edge heats up around 15min. If I'm in my living room it varies around 25-35 minutes depending on how many times I keep switching apps. If I'm outside, I can go around an hour before seeing the overheat message.
I downloaded "cpu cleaner" and open it and shut down all apps in my phone before I use the gear vr and it helps alot from over heating... Also you can use (shutdown)
I saw a video and the guy doing the demo had the wireless controller and he was able to switch the Gear VR into travel mode so he was able to use it in a moving car. I just ordered a controller, so I'll be looking for that trick.
ive had mine for about a month and my biggest disappointment with this is that you really cant use it laying down on your back. sometimes after a hard day, you are tired and just want to relax and do a few things in VR. the only laying down app I have success with is watching movie in Void view and that is it.
Do you notice a cross hatch pattern in the display? I have a glass screen cover on my S6. I notice that the display doesn't seem as clean as when I just look at the screen normally. Nice video, thanks for the review.
Overheating is an issue Samsung has not suffienctly dealt with, and also the lack of Bluetooth controller support. It should be native support for everything that is out there. On these two very crucial points Samsung has Failed.
I haven't had any overheating issues either. I've used it for 2 -3 hours at a time with no problems and battery only draining by 50%. I wonder if there's an app or process on your phone that's not shutting down properly. I used to have an issue with the TuneIn app but for whatever reason, an update maybe, it's working fine now.
The Samsung device heats up ALOT. My solution is to put your phone on do not disturb and also leave the gear vr plugged in to the charger. I also sit in front of a fan. i have used gear vr for 4-5 hours plus.
I have a screen protector on my s7 edge. It really needs to come off. Even though the screen protector is new and un scratched, you can see distortion.
Hi, you say to talk to the store representative to ask to update your phone if you are having problems but what if you have either a stutter or severe social anxiety that makes it difficult to talk to them and ask for update? thanks
+piggy66 find the update online if you're having trouble talking to a representative. You'll need to do a lot of research to make sure you know what you're doing but it'll be worth it in the end because you'll never have to rely someone else if this issues comes up again
don't buy gear vr or any other vr for media....resolution is very very bad, and ur experience will be terrible.. for media as watching movies from Netflix, buy an visiocasque for that....u'll be amazed by the quality and the experience
is it suppose to be all blurry with these goggles on ? i know you can focus with them but the pictures is still blurry . very hard to focus the eye on things it kinda pixel ish everywhere
How do you think this will work with people who need glasses? Will I be able to see well without my glasses? Or will this be like 3d glasses (which I need to wear over my glasses if I want to see the screen!)
I read somewhere that the Note 5 gave a slightly better experience than the 6s and Edge due to it's slightly larger screen size. Have you noticed this?
There is a trade off to frame rate and resolution when viewing in 3D. This just comes down to the mobile chips bandwidth bottleneck. Or you could trade off the other way, and have smooth high framers to but low resolution and 2D. These choices lie with the developer, not the end user however. Future phones may get better as Oculus has recommended increasing the bottleneck to Samsung in future phones. S7 or not, I have no idea.
absolutely love it. yeah it has its share of problems, but vr is in its infancy. vr is the future and I am definitely buying the Playstation vr when it comes out in October. it's not a gimmick and it's here to stay!
I am planing on getting a S7 and I am tempted to get a Gear VR. How is it using the VR for watching video content and can you watch RUclips on it with the internet browser? The fact that the phone can't be used for longer than an hour in VR mode is kind of troubling.
Chris, the new one is supposed to take care of that with the new cooling system. 8 hope to have my S7 today or tomorrow and will test things out. So the over heating issue should have been resolved
Please keep us posted on that! Would love to hear your opinion on the S7. I am moving over from a 5s and I had a 6sPlus for a week but it gave issues so I got a refund and have been waiting for the S7. I am going back to android for a while. I have heard a lot of arguments for and against Samsung but it is the strongest android phone brand in South Africa so we have a lot of support for it here.
May i ask if you have a very clear view in it ? because i do have since almost 2 weeks now but for real im kinda not impressed at all for the view quality ... iv never had a clear 360 experience with a good quality experience... video seem like cant adapt at all. Are you really not complain anything about quality of view §? Thanks for your honest opinion
+Jason Arfa I had a similar problem with video quality. I saw two issues. Available memory. So I made sure that all items are closed and clear. Second, network. I find that wifi is best if your streaming. The last thing is the screen protector that your using can impact video clarity. I hope this helps
Thank you for your great video! I ordered one, and it will arrive December 12th for me. I really cannot wait and I can't stop watching videos! However, I do have this fear of the unknown in the back of my head. I mean, is it bad for your eyes? Is it bad to trick your brain like this? etc.. the unfortunate thing about completely new things like this, is that there's not much known about the dangers..
+Bob McFlurry It was a really mindblowing experience. It still is! The first few time I got a bit nausseas, especially because I immediately used the passthrough camera and started playing fast moving games, but honestly, the whole nassea thing went away after using it for a bit, taking a break, etc. The next day I couldnt get nausseous anymore. I did notice you really need a controller to get the full experience, so I'm waiting for that right now. It's also really fun to show off to friends and see their minds getting blown, haha. I recommend starting with the introduction video, it's really one of the best videos to ease into it. The experience is much better and smoother than I ever expected out of a phone and the screen quality is much better than any other VR at the moment, even the Oculus Rift DK2. The pixeldoor effect is not really an issue, I don't notice it at all. It also doesnt feel unhealthy for your eyes or whatever. It's definitely worth my 99 bucks!
Sounds awesome! Do you think the nausea will go away for me as well, I get kinda nauseous in a car, boat or plane, but I've never actually gotten sick (but i get close).
Bob McFlurry I think it will go away for you too, as I always get nauseous in cars. Just start slow, watch the introduction, take a 10 minute break, watch some 360 videos with motion and if you feel any nausea take a 10 minute break again, etc... It went away for me after 3-4 breaks and now I can pretty much take it all unless the screen starts to move really fast out of nowhere. Oculus Social is also a really fun way to get used to VR. Not a lot of movement, but still a fun envoirement to be in. :-)
I was told the port on the bottom, which I assumed was to charge the phone while using the Gear VR, is actually for headphones and it can not be used to charge a phone. I tried it and it didn't recharge my phone. That is a huge bummer because I can only use it for around 2 hours before I have to take my phone out to recharge. I am also disappointed on how much of the available content is blurry and that there is still little 3D content that comes out of the screen at the viewer. I have seen some 3D that is excellent on youtube but it has only been in video advertising how great 3D can be. Where are the movies with that excellent 3D? There seems to the capability to create it and viewers who want it but few people who make movies are using 3D technology that is the least bit impressive & worth the extra cost.
The review is incorrect about the GearVR being unsuited to using while travelling in a car or plane . Both the Oculus Video app and the Netflix app have what is called a Void cinema where you have just a screen and both cinemas have an option to select "Travel Mode' which allows the screen to slowly move to the centre of your view on its own if the vehicle is changing direction, and does it without making you nauseus. Try it . ( Hint to select the Void cinema in Netflix you need to look right overhead and click on the logo ) They have installed gearVR 's in ist class in Quantas airline .
+Fractalite I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but I can't select the Void Cinema in Netflix. If I look up I can see the word Void Cinema, it won't let me select it. Is this how you're activating it?
+Tico2858 Ive used the DK2 and I own a gear vr s7 edge. And I would agree with the viewing angle. However the gear vr has better screen quality then the dk2. I also noticed that headphones do not fit comfortably over the gear vr which is a bit of a mistake.
AusMega I havent had any problems putting my few headsets over the Gear VR althought sometimes the materials stick to the headband but with my leather headset its not a problem, do you have the older Gear VR? mine just came with the S7 about a week ago
+Milad Soltani the time is going to vary based on what your doing game play vs movies. The biggest issue to me is heat. The phone gets hot after a few min. This was not solved until the s8
+Thefastlane425 I am using Supershieldz. To clarify, I start see the heat issue one hour in. But it has not shut off. Sorry for not clarifying. Here is the link amzn.to/1gVUlY9 and this is my review link ruclips.net/video/vPiMJv-9SWg/видео.html
Nice review. Can u tell me if 32GB phone will be enough for this. I have been 2 years on a note 3 and I am having 10 GB unused free space on it and I am expecting to have the same on my coming note 5. So wondering if 10GB enough for the VR apps and games? Thanks anyway and keep the good work.
+Dr Abd even a 64gb would not be sufficient I would say, there's lot of VR app and game nowsaday and also putting ur own 3D movie (7-8gb) and 2D movie (1-4gb) is really crampin up very fast!
I downloaded all free app on the occulus store and it definitely exceed 10gb, not to mention some of the app will download extra storage on demand. Need to monitor ur mem usage if u're like me hehe
sent my gear vr for the s6 edge back. I don't get the clarity that others are raving about. It is definitely not clear to be. I will wait for the real Oculus Rift to come out as I feel you'll have much more to do with that.
there's no clarity at all....it's a new technology, so the resolution is extrimelly bad for the moment, specifically for 360 who need an 16k screen resolution to be good lol... be sure that the oculus rift have the same resolution, and u'll have the same bad experience with it as the gear vr..
+Bungle2010 I don't have a Gear VR, but this Reddit comment mentions it. www.reddit.com/r/GearVR/comments/3mcm8g/is_there_a_way_to_use_gear_vr_while_lying_on_your/cvdv9g0 I'm planning on picking one up in a couple of days, so I'll let you know if I find it.
+Bungle2010 Yeah, I realise. I assumed that Oculus had implemented something similar, but if they haven't that explains why you can't find anything. My mistake.
+Vikram Kachroo Not sure if it's even something that requires fixing. What's the problem? Just make sure your phone is unlocked when Plugging in. What is your issue really?
+Vikram Kachroo All I know about this is that I see the black cross when I am unplugging the phone from Gear VR,.. My best guess is that you need to remove / reboot and reinsert the phone again.
I had this for one day but my s6 had to be refunded due to it being faulty on arrival. for now im just left with the gear vr :( Whilst I found it really emmersive, especially the assassins creed d'c trailer! I did not find the clarity or resolition as high as im used to on a tv, i can describe it as playing on the original wii. Also the major down for me was its very uncomfortable just above my nose, strangely i also get this discomfort with 3d active glasses.
WAIT! I can't use it on a plane, train and as passenger in a car?? Now, that kills about 50% of the appeal! Dam Samsung. You couldn't make it possible to disable the special/movement sensors??
Tablets for Me Yea man, just give me the option the disable the gyro etc just to watch a movie or brows int. Maybe in a future software update. Let's hope.
+Umed Annaniaz, +Tablets for Me There is a "Travel" mode that accounts for that. The option is in the Void theater. You can also be on you back or side in bed and reorient the screen. Also available in Netflix if you look directly up while on the couch.
+Umed Annaniaz for plane and train that do not make drastic turn like a 90 degree turn for car, it's managable, just do an occasional reorient view, also there is a new lockup mode in void theater to lock the screen position, however I find the ability to look around my personal theater a more immersive experience
+Diego Moya hm, It's something to research about. One thing that makes the illusion of 3d is the two slightly different images in each eye, so It won't be that good...But may be good enough to be a valid buy, I don't know Maybe you should try out something like the Cardboard, at least to see if the trick works
+Diego Moya I just checked for you by closing one eye while using a gear VR and yes it will work fine and its still immersive BUT obviously it doesn't look properly 3d but its not a huge difference and would be fine to purchase if it was something you wanted.
+Pedro Z I've been researching the subject . I found several stories of people who have a case similar to mine . The only thing different is that I will not be able to appreciate the 3D , because it requires both eyes to achieve the visual effect. I spoke with an employee of Samsung and he gave me a ticket . He told me they were going to be contacting me in the next 15 days. And I'm still waiting. I think I'll buy the VR to experiment. Thanks for your replay. Once I 've tried , I will be writing to let you know how I felt using it .
+AusMega I made a little research about the subject and you are totally right. The only thing different is the 3D. I will buy one for sure. Really! thank you very much for making the test for me and also for the reply!
+Diego Moya Glad your happy, Most of the immersion seems to come from the head tracking anyway having a screen whereever you look is really cool. Might pay to pick up a cheap bluetooth controller too as about half the games on the store actually require one.
Aww I though giving us an impression of the Gear VR meant you were gonna strap yourself on to someone's face and then simulate a different environment.
its fucking the bettory life i used 5 days and i bought 2080 mh power bank because of this suckes gear just tell me they make for what use. i am really worried that it would not blast it can be dingrous i try to contact the seller jykies electronics but they said we dont know about it so..... they should clearly pass us the information and warning before selling that it can make over heat and damage bettory and use is limited 1 hour.
+1kakje Samsung is good to try it out but there is not that much content and since you are using only phone you won't be able to play some awesome vr games that will go out on ps4 for sure
+Maxim Duterre you can run it if you get developer mode going, hookup a Bluetooth controller to get some input happening. Overall its not worth it without the Gear VR of course.
Bullshit...this vr thing for phones in general is just cheap crap 3d hype...have it at home and it was the worst purchase i have made in years. 3d is horribly flat and in very low resolution. Resolution dictates the phone. And thats the problem. Btw you can get easily motion sick. And that happened to me which is very unusuall bcz i dont really have a prob with that. Do not buy it. You will do way better if you buy yourself couple of pints of beer. Compare to old nvidia 3d kit...nvidia wins big time! when i played wow with nvidia glasses i could feel hundreds of meters depth...with samsung gear shit? Flat as fuck. Almost 2d. Prob is that you cant adjust convergence which means what is behind the screen is behind the screen. No pop out effect what so ever. None. Dont buy it
Are you sure you have a supported Samsung phone and gear vr? Because I have and it is immersive as fuck. Your "almost flat/2d" remark, I really don't have that issue. Perhaps you are one of those unlucky few that have a pupil distance that is on the extremes, like too wide or narrow from the most common distance. That would impact the experience greatly since pupil distance is not configurable on this device.
I bought two Galaxy S7 yesterday for my wife and I at Best Buy. To my surprise, they said we each get a "free" Gear VR w/ our purchase because of a promotion they had. battery life has been surprisingly good too
+Super Synth I agree. I am actually exceeding that with the recent software updates to the OC software.
+Super Synth Exactly, I have a note 5 and my phone has never overheated in the Gear Vr
+John Roberts That really is something. Samsung should have done better with the smaller devices. It's an always overheat scenario with them.

Great tip about inserting your phone, I've been struggling with that and was worried was gonna damage the charging port

Might be you cellular connection. Try going into airplane mode then enable wifi only if your getting your content via wifi
Tablets for Me I haven't tried that yet, thanks.
Your strap is inside out, flip it around so you can adjust it while its on your head......just a tip!
+rockit690 Thanks I changed it after this video! LOL
I downloaded "cpu cleaner" and open it and shut down all apps in my phone before I use the gear vr and it helps alot from over heating... Also you can use (shutdown)

its not otherwise they wouldnt have made it.
We are twinning with our black sapphire note 5's, gear vr, and gear s2 watch :)

Is there any good horror games on the vr and can you play insidious and use show box on it ?
Hey,
I would maybe want to watch Netflix with it? Is it possible for do that around 2-3 hours ? How big are the heat issues?
+Godsaw I have been able to get two at most. There is more than just the heat. To me its about the gear being on your head and also eye fatigue
2h is too much
+ShareEnjoy VR no it's not
don't buy gear vr or any other vr for media....resolution is very very bad, and ur experience will be terrible..
for media as watching movies from Netflix, buy an visiocasque for that....u'll be amazed by the quality and the experience
40 min max after it says remove the device . let it cool down
Is it possible to start TrinusVR on GearVR ? You need USB port free to connect to PC to play PC Games.
is it suppose to be all blurry with these goggles on ? i know you can focus with them but the pictures is still blurry . very hard to focus the eye on things it kinda pixel ish everywhere
The picture is still blurry on its best focus.. Is it the VR? Can I fix this?
+jesco white simply clean the screen and lenses
Andres Garcia its brand new hehe , used one time . maybe its me wanting better quality then it acctually is then hehe
How do you think this will work with people who need glasses? Will I be able to see well without my glasses? Or will this be like 3d glasses (which I need to wear over my glasses if I want to see the screen!)

+Stephen Wills I had the edge and gave it up. My preference is the note 5. But I never tested it in VR
+Tablets for Me can u plzz tell me if the Samsung galaxy s6 active works with the gear vr. I looked online but it's all different
does it have oculus cinema app on it and Supports 3d and 2d movies or not?????
It has all of those

+Chris C 5S user here, and I am 99% hooked to this phone. The free VR promo is icing on the cake. It's scary thinking about leaving iOS though.
The thing is I am not invested in iOS at all so it will be a welcomed departure.
is the pixels are visible on VR while using ?
Plugging it in does not charge the phone whilst it's in operation, rather only when it's not in use does the battery charge.
Difference between GearVR and Google-Cardboard options?

There seems to the capability to create it and viewers who want it but few people who make movies are using 3D technology that is the least bit impressive & worth the extra cost.
is there enough room with the s6 for headphones to plug in?
Definitely
is the new gear vr compatible with note 4? if so pls tel me how.
No, it's only for Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge Plus and Note 5.
+Eibon Music thnx .so is thr difference in viewing or high performance with the new gear vr comparing to the old vr gear
+Shahin Mohammed If you connect the Note 4 to it. it will download the software but it wont fit the Gear VR headset. Thats the issue. So It wont work.
+Tablets for Me.Thnx for ur comment . I got ur point . ☺
Highlight the logo above it...they need to fix that ☺
Would it work with cases and screen protectors
wont work with cases, but it will with screen protectors.
Is there any problem with the bent/curved edge in S6 Edge/Edge+ ?
+Jakub Burdajewicz no, it supports all samsung flagship phones from last year onwards, it was made for them, and only works with them
I have an S6 edge, absolutely no problems with the edge. It's so badass totally worth the money
i will say if youve used the rift dk1.... id say its not as good as that just because the viewing angle is so small
Thank you for your impression.
will it effect the image quallity because of the edge on the s7 edge
hi ,long does s7 edge last when using oculus cinema ?
+Milad Soltani the time is going to vary based on what your doing game play vs movies. The biggest issue to me is heat. The phone gets hot after a few min. This was not solved until the s8
EBPMAN Tech Reviews
Does it overheat even for movies or is it just gaming ?
when u say hot ,how hot are we talking ?
and thanks for your reply
The image quality is not good as you say I have one and I used it with my Galaxy s6 the phone heats up and I can go on an on about this divce
Love mine vr i got it for My Christmas Gift last year 2015 for my Samsung s6 edge
how is movie quality 720p-1080p on vr? still high def?
Chaiynarong Ruangjirassatien The 1080p looks more like 2D but the 720p it looks 50% Good but 50% bad because the pixels look little bit big
I bought from the shop yesterday and i sold to my friend this morning
Chaiynarong Ruangjirassatien Do you have a sight were you could Download 1080p movies and 3D movies
excellent review. I think I'm getting one with my note 5
+Eibon Music I really like the GEAR VR, it was totally surprised on how good it is.
when I first used it I said oh my God. oh my God. wtf. I freaking about the room. the home screen was in lol
I have 2 questions. 1, which screen protector is that? I see no halo.
2, what's the point of watching Netflix is you can't use it more than an hour?
+Thefastlane425 I am using Supershieldz. To clarify, I start see the heat issue one hour in. But it has not shut off. Sorry for not clarifying. Here is the link amzn.to/1gVUlY9 and this is my review link ruclips.net/video/vPiMJv-9SWg/видео.html
+Thefastlane425 I just saw marco polo 1st episode on my note 5 gear VR, no problems at all...
With the note 4 version, which obviously older, it only overheats for me when playing games. It has never over heated for me watching video.
guys its blurry... what to do
Hope oculus will add the option to pay apps through google play cards.
+mahid gomampong you can. Just disable the gear vr service
+Strike Fine how bro?
+Strike Fine how to ?
Degus Jacoby Pradana mahid gomampong I use package disabler from google play
Nice review.
Can u tell me if 32GB phone will be enough for this. I have been 2 years on a note 3 and I am having 10 GB unused free space on it and I am expecting to have the same on my coming note 5. So wondering if 10GB enough for the VR apps and games?
Thanks anyway and keep the good work.
+Abdalla Alkhashmani I have a 32gb version note 5. But I dont keep much on it. Just games and music. Its worked well for me
Ok.
Thanks soooo much pal.
Keep doing videos on VR.
You are awesome !!!
+Dr Abd even a 64gb would not be sufficient I would say, there's lot of VR app and game nowsaday and also putting ur own 3D movie (7-8gb) and 2D movie (1-4gb) is really crampin up very fast!
+Tony Lee
So, I will face memory problems in the future with the 32GB?!!
I will wait for the real Oculus Rift to come out as I feel you'll have much more to do with that.
there's no clarity at all....it's a new technology, so the resolution is extrimelly bad for the moment, specifically for 360 who need an 16k screen resolution to be good lol...
be sure that the oculus rift have the same resolution, and u'll have the same bad experience with it as the gear vr..
it has a setting for using it in cars and airports
+Bungle2010 I believe that there's a 'Travel Mode' in Oculus Cinema, that just locks your view on the (virtual) screen.
+Bungle2010 I don't have a Gear VR, but this Reddit comment mentions it. www.reddit.com/r/GearVR/comments/3mcm8g/is_there_a_way_to_use_gear_vr_while_lying_on_your/cvdv9g0
I'm planning on picking one up in a couple of days, so I'll let you know if I find it.
+Bungle2010 Yeah, I realise. I assumed that Oculus had implemented something similar, but if they haven't that explains why you can't find anything. My mistake.
has anyone had the black screen with white cross in corner?
Seen it.
Still getting it. Know how to fix it?
+Vikram Kachroo Not sure if it's even something that requires fixing. What's the problem? Just make sure your phone is unlocked when Plugging in. What is your issue really?
+teeno7 I know I have to unlock it beforehand. The problem is that screen comes up and that is it. No home screen.
+Vikram Kachroo All I know about this is that I see the black cross when I am unplugging the phone from Gear VR,.. My best guess is that you need to remove / reboot and reinsert the phone again.
Too much heating is the main deal breaker. It can kill the battery sooner.
I had this for one day but my s6 had to be refunded due to it being faulty on arrival. for now im just left with the gear vr :(
Whilst I found it really emmersive, especially the assassins creed d'c trailer!
+Umed Annaniaz It has to do with they gyroscope and the motion
Tablets for Me
Yea man, just give me the option the disable the gyro etc just to watch a movie or brows int.
Maybe in a future software update. Let's hope.
+Umed Annaniaz, +Tablets for Me
There is a "Travel" mode that accounts for that.
He wasn't driving he was a passenger. I wouldn't be using it in the car but my passenger might after I learn how to change the setting.
everything is good but low reasolashion
Good video!
On the lower base.
thumbs up useful tips
I can only see with one eye. With that in mind , what would be my experience? Would it work for me?
+Diego Moya hm, It's something to research about. One thing that makes the illusion of 3d is the two slightly different images in each eye, so It won't be that good...But may be good enough to be a valid buy, I don't know
Maybe you should try out something like the Cardboard, at least to see if the trick works
+Diego Moya I just checked for you by closing one eye while using a gear VR and yes it will work fine and its still immersive BUT obviously it doesn't look properly 3d but its not a huge difference and would be fine to purchase if it was something you wanted.
+Pedro Z
I've been researching the subject .
Oh and you have a typo in your video title. Grear. Thought I should let you know. 😊
+YourComputerExpert Fixed it. Thanks
PSA: this will ONLY work with the following Samsung phones: the S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge+ and the Note 5 so no just any Samsung/Android phone.
It works with Galaxy S7 and S7 edge too.
its a game changer alright but there is a serious lack of good software and games for it
Kinda, but got some cool titles like minecraft :D
I love this devise! but! scratches your phone.
Got a S7 Edge, no scratches here
just be careful
friggn bs samsung still has not sent mine for buying the s7 one of the reasons i got it
+A42yearoldARAB Mines getting shipped on the april 1st.. what a joke.. Got my S7 on the 4th
Demias
I just got that email to...yeah got mine early as well
A42yearoldARAB =(
+Demias all pre order VR's ship April 1st, y'all got the email so youre not the only ones.
got the email saying it was shipped today
Aww I though giving us an impression of the Gear VR meant you were gonna strap yourself on to someone's face and then simulate a different environment.
Should be $50 and/or sold at cost as an incentive/bonus to buying their phones.
That's a good idea. Buy They can't even keep up demand for existing Samsung users, sold out and behind schedule.
Now it's coming free with the s7 edge if you pre order it
SSGSS4 Gogeta Too bad the screen rez is horrible pentile... :/
its fucking the bettory life i used 5 days and i bought 2080 mh power bank because of this suckes gear just tell me they make for what use. i am really worried that it would not blast it can be dingrous i try to contact the seller jykies electronics but they said we dont know about it so..... they should clearly pass us the information and warning before selling that it can make over heat and damage bettory and use is limited 1 hour.
I use
Gear s2
Gear Circle
Gear VR
.... I think I am a Samsung sheep now ...
Do you like them all??
I have had this for three weeks now and I am bored with it. The excitement has worn off
Samsung gear vr or PlayStation vr? That's the choice I have to make :/
Ohh. I hope to get the Sony one to test. I think Sony will be better since it won't need your phone and the Sony processor is much better
+1kakje Samsung is good to try it out but there is not that much content and since you are using only phone you won't be able to play some awesome vr games that will go out on ps4 for sure
hum...(2 hours ago...)WHAT?!
shutupp app is better way to stop all backgrounds apps
I ordered one on amazon for 50 cents lol
if your taking about the google cardboard, i have both, and the cardboard is a gimmick and proof of concept, gear vr is an actual device.
Don't need a Gear VR to download the Oculus software. Just an apk.
+Maxim Duterre you can run it if you get developer mode going, hookup a Bluetooth controller to get some input happening. Overall its not worth it without the Gear VR of course.
+Maxim Duterre carrot! That was as far as I got when I was waiting for my Gear VR to come.
+Maxim Duterre yeah that's about as far as one can go in anticipation for their Gear VR, as I found out. :)
+Maxim Duterre you need to enable developer mode to open apps without a Gear VR, not worth the effort.
Has Heating issue.. Dont buy it.just wait for another newer vr with no heating issue. I was barely able to use it for half an hour wtffffff
That would impact the experience greatly since pupil distance is not configurable on this device.
overheat..!!!
Yeah still does. Even with the s7
Sausage fingers...
420th like XD
What are the 'A' and 'B' on the front by the front lens? The A is green on yours, but on mine it's B. Using Galaxy S7
+erzascralet48 it allows you to adjust the phone Holder for the larger phones
