It's actually nice to see a rig that doesn't put the battery directly behind the camera, blocking off all the controls and screen. I always mount the battery on my rigs either to the side, under the rails, or totally detached from the rig. Changing settings and manipulating the camera when you can't directly see the controls just slows me down. Nice build!
I really don't like the whole vertical thing because the aspect ratio is just so goofy, I wish there was a app that was like tiktok but horizontal, it would just make so much more sense. Its almost like this is being forced on videographers because you either get with it or you miss out, we all know how it is. Personally I always shoot in horizontal regardless of what the client ask for because we've all been there when you shoot in vertical format and the client asks for a last minute horizontal copy too. Love your content BTW, keep going.
So youtube? Lol that's just how the industry rolls bro. It swings one way then another. Remember when tv's were just 4:3? Then next thing you know it's 16:9 - I'm so ppl complained then. Vertical video isn't replacing traditional formats, rather it dominateI on certain platforms or at least assist it.
Nice rig, bro. I didn’t like vertical video at first, but it seriously has grown on me. When doing client work, I make sure that the client knows what can happen if we shoot vertical only. If everything is agreeable, we go ahead and shoot. I’ll shoot horizontal when I want to create my art. When providing a service for an organization that will compensate me, thereby putting food on the table, I just gird up my loins, and give them what they ask for.
Yo! RUclips is tripping. This wasn't showing in my subscription tab I found it in the home tab. This isn't the first time this has happened to someone I'm subscribed to . This is problematic when videos get missed .
Couldn't agree with you more about not being able to mirror the vertical image to the monitor. Let's hope they can change that in a future. What lens did you use for the headshot, a 21/24mm? Thanks, man
Good clip! May I ask how you battle the jitters with this camera in general? I’ve heard it’s pretty bad when shooting with handheld rigs.

people hating on vertical but all they watch is instagram reels and tiktok lol, if a client needs tiktok content might aswel just shoot in vertical straight out of the cam.
vertical request from clients is increasing insanly recently, even from some traditional tv/film clent! Are they gonna to sell vertical tv or make a vertical movie theatra? I dont know, but seems like suddenly everyone want some vertical content now. There must be some big money in vertical market, probably at the smartpnone user end, which is quite understandable, consider it's the biggest media user group, way way bigger than tv end or cinema end.
The people don't like the vertical stuff BUT I really like this rig my guy! Very pro

sweet, thank you! So many clients been asking for vertical content, and I hate using a gimbal. Thanks for the video!
Love this video and set up! Thanks! All my work this year so far has been for vertical video.

Set up is legit!!
I wonder if with a more boxed shaped camera, like the Red Komodo, you could create some type of rig that's significantly more compact
I gotta update mine for the fx30, kinda cool companies are leaning into the 9:16 life
that's a crazy rig

I still think you can just put an aspect ratio overlay the same size as Instagram the original way.
