This was a father son project. The 8 year old son liked the Aventador in a video game and they were in need of a new family car. They bought a budget car because they could not afford a Lambo.
So the father told his son "son since we can't afford to buy a Lamborghini, how about you and build one?"
Man works a full time job. Every day after work he and his son worked on this car, piece by piece, for many hours. For many years.
The costs were only paid for one thing at a time. A few hundred here, a few hundred there, each expense being sometimes months apart from one another.
Altogether they spent about 30 grand, the cost of a mid size sedan. HOWEVER, that cost was spread out over the span of 4-5 years.
Eventually, Lamborghini found out about them, and helped them by donating many spare parts for free.
To be honest, this IS a project that most people COULD do, with the right amount of dedication. A TREMENDOUS amount of dedication.

Yeah how do put all those pieces together and make look so smooth like it's one big piece with no sign of fitted lines in-between each piece
sanding and filler ?@@coltongibbs383
@@coltongibbs383there are a few ways but the most common around the world would be fiberglass / carbon fiber mesh for strength then a layer of a sandable filler like bondo. It’s what body shops use to fill in / smooth out imperfections after the metal work is used to make it flat as possible. But never perfect. So the filler fills in the imperfections and then you sand it to what looks like perfection to the human eye in usually 2-3 steps of sanding and primer which acts like a thin filler/ corrector itself for blemishes / scratches and seals the panel for paint

@@dongloidi did that before the ability to print a car came out
@@helloperson9445 oh shit
Yeah, so it’s still not a literal downloading of car. Besides the body panels and perhaps some interior components the majority of the vehicle is still good old fashioned steel/composite/aluminum/plastic/rubber construction, using standard nut, bolt and welding fabrication methods. The body of a vehicle is really only about 10-16% of what constitutes an “assembled car”. The issue with “printing” these components remains to be the strength of the individual components, fine for body panels but for obvious reasons suspension/frame/driveline components just as an example, require a lot of strength and rigidity. Not to mention engines/drivetrains and their internal components that have to be built out of extremely strong (and in some cases, exotic) metal alloys that can keep up with punishing heat and kinetic wear conditions. Not to say that metal 3D printing cant already make such components but from my understanding, it’s not quite there yet and the costs are prohibitive in our current day.
