When it comes to hockey talk and information. I come to this channel. Not TSN not Sportsnet. And he doesn't get to use replays or game footage. Wont be long till a major network puts him in a chair with the top hockey analysts.
AFTER covid I hope you get to see a game live. Just nothing like it in sport!! Edit: Any level. NHL is awesome, but if you can get to a minor league game, NCAA game, Junior game, High school game.... Really, it's just an awesome sport!!
The best sport without a doubt. Has all the characteristics (skill, speed, physicality, etc.) that make sports exciting, especially playoff hockey. Hope we all get to enjoy the finish to this season .
I loved this I agree with what you said especially “if I’m not willing to wear it or buy it I just can’t advertise it it’s just not suitable for me or my channel”. Also I love how original yet so creative and unique and great you are at being a RUclipsr and all you are doing is just being yourself talking to a webcam. You don’t see that often where a channel can be this big without any sort of editing in its videos.
How genuine you sre on this channel is honestly an anomaly. There aren't many others who would turn away from the money to keep their content from getting brought down by painful ads.
Most of these "sponsors" are just referral programs. I would imagine you send an email to nord or express vpn and they would get you a promo code. The don't pay unless you drive sales, so they lose nothing. HOWEVER, you may be able to make some money with pushing a VPN (i use Nord myself) because it allows people with nhl.tv (game center) to get around blackouts. It's the only reason i signed up and have used it for years now. Basically you could partner with a VPN service for reasons that would help out your viewers and so you wouldn't really be selling your soul or pushing random products.
Yessss, Fact Fiend is a great channel (got a couple of hockey videos too, they're from Sheffield which is pretty much the only place in this country that hockey is relatively big). One of those great channels I always come back to (much like this one)

Raid shadow legends ads are soooo annoying. Also the VPN ads trying to scare you into subscribing because of "cybersecurity" when honestly there isn't much of a difference regardless of having it are pretty bad too.

Idk if youre going to read this Shannon, but as an avid RUclips viewer for you and many other channels I think I have just become accustomed to seeing plugs or sponsorships by creators and for me it doesn't detract for any of the content. As someone who connects well with you and enjoys your content dearly, I kinda wish you did ads so that you could get the value from the companies that I feel you give me. I want you to succeed and be financially stable so that you can continue content the way it is with the level of effort and dedication. The hockey community would be much worse off if it lost you or never even had you. Hearing you speak about advertisements and the like I have an immense respect for you and hold you in very high regard for your position. It is very admirable and I wish that some content creators would take your mindset on as well as I feel your content is some of the best because it is 100% what you believe in. I have had youtube premium for over 4 years now to contribute more to youtubers and have started giving on patreon as well in order to support you and the other content I enjoy. But if you ever get into a position where ad rev. is down (I know you mentioned it before when the quarantine had just started, ad rev.s dropped) and you would need to seek other work in order to be able to support yourself and your family, I would hope in that moment you would take the sponsorship deal so that you could keep the content rolling as you do. I think that if there came a day and you had to ask your community of whether you need to do ads or cut your content production in half or lower because you would need a wage job to live, I dont think we would mind those ads. I dont think anyone would not understand your situation and your predicament and we would understand the compromise on your principles for this channel. We only want the best for you. 2:35 I found and ordered from fake scammers surprisingly I got a jersey but not the right player and another time I got 3/4 jerseys I ordered but at least I got something because it was cheap. Yes they were fake but they are good quality.
Imo you should try wearing the tank top for a vid just to rip that bandaid off, people won't really comment about it once we're used to it. It's an especially big contrast to always having on a sort of bulky jersey on.

Yes, you would have to always favor the Jets in your analysis, and when doing 32 team comparisons, you'd have to devote 50% of the video towards the Jets, but that's what ALL UNBIASED fans WANT!
There was a period of time back in college (2017) where I was seeing ads on youtube for things I was thinking of but not even searching. It was creepy because it was random stuff I just thought about and it felt like my phone was reading my mind

Occasionally I hit skip out of habit because I only watch most of the commercials on my absolute favs. When they decide to put a 55 minute commercial on though...why?!! Is that when they aren't sure to monetize or not, so just make it hard? I think ads are based on you search history. I needed a canvas shed for camp and did a search and got nothing but shed ads and surveys for a day and not just on youtube.

I know I'm late to this video, but if you have the opportunity to get a bag, and they're not asking you to alter or restrict your content (outside of the ad they're paying for obviously), there's nothing wrong with going for it. You could even use that money to step up your channel production in various ways. Like maybe if you had an idea of something you'd like to do, but it would require significant time or monetary investment to pull off, let a sponsor pay for it instead of having to do it out of pocket. That way it's a win/win for everybody.

The pr department of company don't look at the content, I have seen youtuber trash talk raid: shadow legends and still getting offers. All they look at is the channel stats.
If you produce content(which you do) that brings people to watch what you are doing, then I have zero problems with watching something for free that has an advertisement or a sponsor.... I do prefer if the sponsor is something you believe in though (example If I had a youtube site, my sponsors of choice-if not related to the site- would be KFC, Mountain Dew or USMC---but you don't always get your favorite choices, but at least let it be something you support or like.)
