Yeah, but don’t be delusional & convince yourself you make that an hour. That’s what contractors want you to believe to motivate you & boost your ego so you think what you’re doing is worth it. If you got caught on route that day & didn’t get finished til say 4:30 then are you still “averaging” that same amount an hour ? Exactly. Hey man I like your videos. I get 22 per hour as well but no time and a half pay. However if I do 200 stops a day(for example) and the sum of that multiplied by 1.20(1.50 on Mondays) is greater, then I get that instead. My dad is a contractor he pays all of his drivers $180 and a couple $200 a day. They all do between 150-200 stops with 25-40 mile routes. 90% residential routes. Most of his drivers are done between 2:30-4. (I drive for my dad)
I get paid $165/day on a rural route averaging 70 stops per day. I used to run a city route running 150+ stops per day. I’ll take the country route any day of the week
I am currently a fedex ground driver in Mississippi. I deliver to a residential heavy route In Jackson ms with our terminal located in pearl ms. My contractor pays me around $120-$130 a day and I usually work around 50-60 hours a week 7 days a week. The pay is around $670 for 7 days after taxes.

I just got hired through the FedEx AVP program and they are paying me $17/hour and I’m only working 35 hours a week with $.62/mile mileage reimbursement
I got a new deal with my contractor this year(new ownership). I do business and home delivery combine. I get $210 per day plus bonus so I make around $1200-1300 weekly for 40 hours. Home delivery start at $1 per stop then $1.3 and I am on business route so I get $1.5 per stop on top of it.

Working for FedEx was both the best and worse job I had lmao. But I loved coming into work everyday because of the team I was apart of and having a close bond with my co workers and managers, and the job is easy and I’m good at it. I ended up leaving after 6 months to attend the police academy. And after my training the owner of the contractor hired me back and gave me a BC position and now I’m still able to drive on my off duty days and run point early in the mornings before I go on duty. Cop salary is good but not enough lol

@@Spartan-xg7vg yep it’s a pretty good pay increase and a really good position to have. For working 3 days I got paid like I worked 7 days if i still had my starting pay
I work a business heavy route that features a whole bunch of hospitals and clinics in a medical district which also includes an entire university. I get paid $1 per delivery stop, $1.05 per pickup stop and $0.18 for every single package I scan regardless of delivery or pickup so on average I get about 105 delivery stops, 6 pickups and around 450 to 550 total packages scanned, so if you do the math that's around $192 to $210 per day so over the course of a week that adds up to between $960 and $1050 before taxes.
Since starting as a Swing at Express about 4 months ago, I've been making $1000 - $1600/week, but I've been working between 55-70 hours every week. The money is great, but not much time for anything else other than work, eat, sleep, repeat until it slows back down.
@@tbone2123 all depends on the route and your station. At my station they can't make the part timers work more than 6 hours in a day, but they can work up to 13 if they want to. At my station part time is the better way to go since you can still get full time hours if you want to, but don't have to. Some people on here though have said that their station hasn't had enough hours for all the drivers and have been sending people home. So, it really just depends on how busy your station is.
I'd advise Ground drivers to get their CDL and come over to Fedex Freight. More money and less work. We get paid in multiple ways like milage, breaks and hooks, hourly if you run the city or work the dock, fueling, etc. My pay averages out at $51.55 per hour and that's also what they pay for vacation time taken.
Well its not doing so good now. Ive listened to the advice to go to freight, got my cdl from them, but now the future of being with them is so bleak. Dont get me wrong the job is amazing, but because of possible lay off later this year, i had to come back to ground.

I start in 2 days and the base pay pretty low compared to other places ($140 base + $1 per stop). The good thing is that I’m planning to get my CDL by start of of next year so it’s perfect to save up until then. At least I won’t have to go back to a minimum wage job. All those here pay $10/hr. I just got hired in northeast PA at a FedEx CSP… I haven’t started yet but pay is $750/week (5 days) + $60/week safety bonus… so as long as you don’t hit anything with the truck you make $810 ($150/day + $60/week bonus)… if you get OT and work a 6th day you get time and a half which would be $1,035/week… as far as I know there isn’t any bonuses for stops or anything
I start next week. My contractor is paying $160/day, extra $100 weekly bonus, or $20/day. Any stops after 150 is an extra $1.10 and after 200 stops all are paid out at 10¢ per stop. So on a great day with all incentives it’s up to $255/day.
I started as a Fedex ground driver today. It's 180 a day. 138 stops. After 130 stops I get an extra $1 per stop. So I made $188 by working 11 am to 6pm. Not bad..but I am tired. I'm in San Diego CA. It's not easy...you'll be tired but I chose to work Sun/ Mon- Thu/ Fri. 4 on 3 off. Not bad. But imma ask for 200 a day soon.
I've been with FedEx since 2017. I felt like a shitbag because I kept switching contractors for the first several years. I've worked for 5 different contractors. I was fired from one for bitching about safety defects, got fired for poor performance by another one, and fired a third time because I engaged in a petty argument with an Express employee while waiting for my 18:00 pickup to open I ALMOST left the network all together but decided to took one last stab at it. I got taken on as a driver for an AO who described himself as "The best contractor in the region". Within a few months, I became one of the top drivers in our company and was making more money than I ever had before. I was promoted to BC in Jan 2021. Within weeks of being promoted, corporate pulled our contract. Within hours, I was inundated with job offers from contractors trying to get in on the territory that my AO had just lost. For the first time in my life, I was in a position to turn down job offers I felt were undesirable. I'm now a driver on a dedicated commercial route, fixed schedule, non-slipseated late model truck, making a minimum of $1200/wk with effectively limitless OT, flexible scheduling and benefits. In less than 2 years, I was named a Top 10 driver in our pool of 50 drivers across 3 states TLDR - Most of them suck, but if you are lucky enough to find a decent contractor, it is a lucrative job with excellent job security. And for any AOs reading this, if you pay your employees a decent wage, it compels them to care about their job and do the right thing. After working for several shit contractors, I can tell you there is a profound difference in attitude and demeanor when you are paid fairly
Every contractor countrywide pays different and on a different scale, so this video is just an example. Contractors here in the Midwest do not pay overtime because you are paid per day and no matter how long you work, its the same pay. FedEx originally did this as a way to get around the law which would have put them on a similar playing field as UPS. It has worked well ($$$$) as a Corp but service for the customer has greatly suffered.
FedEX Ground drivers get paid on a salary basis not hourly. In Ontario (Canada) they got paid like 180 ca$ per day which encourages drivers to run to houses, businesses, condos, drive fast, disobey stop signs to save time. They try to finish their job within 8 hours but contractors/managers always push them so they spend more and more time. If they work 6 or 7 days a week NO OVERTIME just plain salary 180 CA$/day. Due to running this winter I fell a few times on ice/snow luckily no injury or detected so far. If the driver takes longer than 8 hours this job is not worth it HIGH RISK and low pay. Salary based pay system should be ILLEGAL as it's not only dangerous for drivers but other people on road. I hope other people understand too what delivery drivers go through everyday.
@@jordanhall4496 160$ in Canada or US?? U should have told employer u only want to work 5 days a week. If they ask for extra day u can also ask for overtime rate for 6th or 7th day. THANKS for you honest and real video... makes me feel better I'm not a driver and can never drive for fedex again.. dui. 3 of them... and I still make more.
glad you're being honest. ALOT of drivers lie about pay because this job is so backbreaking and were not compensated for it enough. I understand the atmosphere you speak of about certain drivers bragging about their stop count/stop per hour when in reality the company doesn't give a damn about us lol. The taxes in NY/NJ are eating your pay that's why it looks less. Don't worry about working 7 days lol, you'll burn out faster if you do.
Why do people not think it is weird we judge people based on their job or wage? I guess it is ingrained in us from a young age and allows our economic system to continue. It is shown that our jobs are what we are worth. SMH, workers of the world unite!
I heard some pay by the hour and some pay by the stop..? If you work for a contractor and the guy driving out behind you makes 75% of what you do since they have so many contractors can they not switch contractors? Sorry so many questions. The delivery outfits have been on my radar and these are some of the things I have heard that happen. I can't work beside a guy both on day one and just being different contract company make $100 less a day. ?? Wouldn't everyone leave the cheap companies
Okay I don't feel so bad now. My contractor doesn't offer benefits does yours? I work 5 days a week and usually have about $900 and some change in take-home pay is that good guys?
I work for a contractor, 4 days a week, I average around 6 hours a day work, 24 hours a week. My contractor pays me for daily work no matter how many hours it takes and I come home with 650 a week before taxes. The other contractor on my line pays 1 dollar per stop above 150 stops but my contractor doesn't do that. It's just a fixed amount. I also don't think I would receive hourly overtime. Also my average stops per day is somewhere around 100

I had no problem with what I was paid at Amazon delivery, I left because of the unprofessionalism and the immaturity of those I worked with and the I don’t care way everyone did things , the major reason I quit is the Vans the Dsp I had were a danger to myself and others on the road and were never repaired and getting yelled at and ridiculed for flagging things that were a major concern on DVIC was not the way I wanted to work. Also the experience is something else I want, I hope to someday have a job at UPS and possibly make a career out of it.
Simply put, the reason why Fedex Ground operates on the contractor model is to keep unions out. Keep wages low for drivers and shift the operating costs onto the contractors and away from Fedex. I think it should be everybodys right to join or NOT join a union. With that being said I used to work at Fedex Express for almost a decade. I now work at UPS and I made more on my first year of driving than a whole 10 years at Fedex. I'm also not even topped out yet just to put that into perspective.
How did you make more in one year than 10 years? Were you part-time only making minimum wage? I started at Express about 6 months ago as a swing and I'm on pace to make about 60-70k in my first year. You telling me you made 600k this year?
@@prescottsims245 Full time courier, ended my career just shy of $24 an hour. Annual raises of about 2%. The "step progression" is a bold face lie. Had brand new couriers getting hired starting at 21.xx while veteran employees were barley making more. On top of the mediocre health insurance premiums increasing as well. The most I ever made was almost 50k and that was working as much overtime as possible during peak. I find it hard to believe that a Fedex driver with only 6 months making 70k unless you are a topped out RTD (tractor trailer driver) or getting weekly bravo zulu bonuses which I find highly unlikely. I made $56k on my FIRST year as a UPS driver, granted that UPS drivers work harder and longer hours it was still an eye opener for me. Top rate is currently $39.xx which only takes 4 years to reach. At Fedex you will NEVER reach top rate. The only thing I could see is that I worked at a small station.. perhaps you work at a larger station that is understaffed with plenty of call outs/extra work.
been driving for Fed Ex ground for a couple of months now. Got decent at the downtown route in my town. Really hard but doable. I have come to the conclusion that working for FedEx Ground is immoral if you desire for people who do this extremely hard job to be adequately compensated. FedEx Ground was created with the sole intention of undercutting UPS, a unionized with health benefits delivery company that expects results but treats their employees well. FedEx ground on the other hand pushes contractors to break the rules (of FedEx and sometimes the law) while working for a low daily rate that hourly can at times be similar to minimum wage.
Holy crap dude! I usually average about 55hrs a week up here in Maine as a driver. And I'm hourly so I usually make really good money! I couldn't imagine being salary! @Sean Jaworski Mississippi has low minimum wage
That's genuinely awful for 7 days
wtf. UPS hired me for $25 an hour + mileage as a seasonal worker easily making $1k per week at 40 something hours. you gotta switch man, thats way too low.
You are getting shafted. You are making less than minimum wage for the hours worked. Try to get a job as a fork lift operator. I feel sorry for you man. Fedex Ground is a scam.
I just got hired through the FedEx AVP program and they are paying me $17/hour and I’m only working 35 hours a week with $.62/mile mileage reimbursement
Where I am it’s 130 a day some places $15 an hr, now we got to see how much you get from RUclips! Love the videos
I have deep appreciation to your craft. I believe you guys are very underpaid. You are essential workers that work rain or shine. Keep up the hustle.

Working for FedEx was both the best and worse job I had lmao. But I loved coming into work everyday because of the team I was apart of and having a close bond with my co workers and managers, and the job is easy and I’m good at it. I ended up leaving after 6 months to attend the police academy. And after my training the owner of the contractor hired me back and gave me a BC position and now I’m still able to drive on my off duty days and run point early in the mornings before I go on duty. exactly, that’s some culture in FedEx. there’s so much more than just to work 45-60 hrs a week. the money is great, but time is real gold lol

I work a business heavy route that features a whole bunch of hospitals and clinics in a medical district which also includes an entire university. I get paid $1 per delivery stop, $1.05 per pickup stop and $0.18 for every single package I scan regardless of delivery or pickup so on average I get about 105 delivery stops, 6 pickups and around 450 to 550 total packages scanned, so if you do the math that's around $192 to $210 per day so over the course of a week that adds up to between $960 and $1050 before taxes.
i thought they made at least $ 500 to $1000 a day
@@wisdomandlove1661 1000 a day you’d have to be an owner operator.
Since starting as a Swing at Express about 4 months ago, I've been making $1000 - $1600/week, but I've been working between 55-70 hours every week. The money is great, but not much time for anything else other than work, eat, sleep, repeat until it slows back down.
Yep that’s true. Eat sleep n work again but pay is good. No time for anything.

Not good
I've been with FedEx since 2017. I felt like a shitbag because I kept switching contractors for the first several years. I've worked for 5 different contractors. I was fired from one for bitching about safety defects, got fired for poor performance by another one, and fired a third time because I engaged in a petty argument with an Express employee while waiting for my 18:00 pickup to open
I ALMOST left the network all together but decided to took one last stab at it.
In less than 2 years, I was named a Top 10 driver in our pool of 50 drivers across 3 states
TLDR - Most of them suck, but if you are lucky enough to find a decent contractor, it is a lucrative job with excellent job security. And for any AOs reading this, if you pay your employees a decent wage, it compels them to care about their job and do the right thing. After working for several shit contractors, I can tell you there is a profound difference in attitude and demeanor when you are paid fairly
I agree with you I don’t believe in overtime👍👍nice video bro👏👍
I respect you my guy. Love your wisdom and videos
Great video. I love that app. My company uses ADP as well.
Thank you so much! Just got hired
Fr some of the guys i worked with would do 13 hour days 6 days a week and still only got that base pay of 160/day, shitty job glad i left.
@@jordanhall4496 160$ in Canada or US??
U should have told employer u only want to work 5 days a week. If they ask for extra day u can also ask for overtime rate for 6th or 7th day. Gives u more leverage. I only worked 5 days only. Few drivers were finishing their day within 6 hours for them salary based system is worth it. Depends on route

Well i guess the pay here in chicago is way better , i make 200 dls a day, i only work Monday to Wednesday
I run city routes. Step van driver. About 150+ a day. On a good day with no or little heavy items, i can finish around 3pm. On other days with heavy items, i can finish around 5pm . Neighborhoods i delivery, customers be having hilly driveways or lot of stairs.
Do what I do. Pull in the driveway, slide it out, use a tarp to slide close and ride out! 30 seconds tops!
THANKS for you honest and real video... makes me feel better I'm not a driver and can never drive for fedex again.. dui. 3 of them... and I still make more.

Fedex does not allow contractors to hire independent contractors. You are a W2 employee.
To answer why they chose to operate with contractors.. i believe its to not have to deal with the union.
glad you're being honest.

My contractor pays $150 per day after 90 days goes to $160 and if you deliver 200 stops its $1.40 per stop.
Do all independent contractors of FedEx Ground have to pay time and half overtime for over 40 hour work weeks or how does the OT structure work?
Not all I work for ground and they don’t pay you time and a half since it’s salary for us
Shits. That’s around 3K a month, before taxes. How do you survive on that in NJ?
been driving for Fed Ex ground for a couple of months now.
