I got this for Christmas. It is quite easy to use and makes great drinks. I find the latte and cappuccino are pretty similar. I think for the price there would be a little less plastic.
Thanks for the review. I’ve had mine for 3 years now and still love it! Even so, I learned a couple things from watching your video. Never realized that it had the top heating feature to keep your coffee warm! Do you know how to just make steamed milk on it, without coffee?? On the older models you just push the cappuccino button twice, but it doesn’t work pushing the brew button twice on this model. I like to use steamed milk for hot cocoa.
Hi, you are right, hitting the brew button does not work but there is another way. Hold down the bean select button for roughly 5 seconds. You should see a spoon appear. This is an indicator to the machine not to grind beans, but to make a cup of coffee with what you place into that top section where you would normally place a teaspoon full of already ground beans. Do not put anything in there, and just select cappuccino. This will allow the froth milk to come out into your cup, then it will stop because it's smart enough to detect that there is no coffee in the top section and, you have chosen not to grind beans. Just to recap, hold the bean button in for 5 seconds until you see the spoon, then turn your selection dial to cappuccino, or latte, then select Brew. That should work for you
Hi Fiona, Ive never had this issue. What part is getting clogged for you? Is it the filter where you have to open the unit behind the water tank? If so, I really only have to clean that perhaps once per month. It should not be getting clogged. If it continues, I would try changing the grind setting which is located where the beans go in the top. You may have it set too fine where it is getting clogged.
Every so often, your machine has to be descaled. The frequency depends on how harsh the water coming into your home is. Even though the container has its own filter, if you use filtered water, you will find yourself descaling a lot less.
The nozzle does adjust up and down. There is no temperature adjustment. I can tell you that it comes out at the perfect drinking temperature. if you are the type of person that lets your coffee sit there for 10 to 15 minutes, it will more than likely be too cool to drink
When I make a regular cup of coffee, the pump does about 16 individual pumps to dispense the coffee. Your machine doing a latte only pumped one long continuous shot of coffee. Do you get the 16 pumps on a regular cup? Thanks, Jeff
Jeffrey Bank yes, when make a regular coffee it is a consistent amount of individual pumps to make a full cup. This does not apply to cappuccino and Latte
I had one for 7 years unfortunately I can’t figure out a compatible spare milk froth kid as they only show different ESCAM model numbers and pre Madonna Not this one ..I went to factory page yet to receive feed back..
Hi Kevin, if you are looking for the froth milk container for this specific model, it can be found here www.delonghi.com/en-us/lattecrema-system-spare-milk-container-dlsc011/p/DLSC011?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIrbali9b68gIVjcDICh1bFwGjEAQYASABEgIOzvD_BwE
This is a great video. I know you posted a while back but I have a question. When would you use the "insert" selection on the milk container. I can't find anything in my booklet that explains it's function.
You would use the milk insert option when choosing the "cappuccino" or "latte" options. You'll notice that of you try and choose those drinks without the milk container connected, it will flash red
The only setting is to alternate from cappuccino (less froth, more coffee) to Latte (more froth, less coffee). But there is no option to add/reduce outside of those presets.
Hello, thanks for a great review. I have a question and hopefully you could find the time to check and answer. Is it possible to do cappuccino (or latte) using pre-ground coffee? Or does it limit you to the three first coffee choices once you selected pre-ground coffee? Your help is greatly appreciated!
Dima Litvin , it does allow you to make a cup of coffee /cappuccino using pre-ground. You just have to make sure there are no beans in the container. By default, as soon as you hit the Brew button, the machine will start grinding. If you have beans in the container that is what it will use. If the container is empty, it will go off of the grinds.
There is a bypass tunnel that you can put preground coffee in without touching the beans. Hold down the bean select button until it changes to the scoop icon
I tried to make latte (latte macchiato, according to the manual) with this machine. The drink does not look in any way different from that from the cappuccino option. Am I missing something?
The only difference between the latte and cappuccino options is the amount of frothed milk. Choosing cappuccino will provide less milk as opposed to latte which will provide a larger amount of frothed milk
Ihab Ahmed the frothed milk is actually of good quality. It creates a nice foam on the top, but it will blend once you stir it. It does not create that very light foam that's some other models create where it's almost impossible to get rid of. The cappuccino setting adds a little more coffee and less milk, where the latte does the opposite (a little too much dairy for my taste), however it is nice to have the option
Just got one today and I used Organic Whole milk from Trader Joe's and I was genuinely surprised how good it was (Better than I can do with manual frother )
Unfortunately the temperature cannot be increased. I will say it does come out the perfect drinking temperature, however, if you are the type of coffee lover that leaves the cup sit for 10-15 mins before taking your 2nd sip, you will find it cooled off. For me it works well because I drink the cup within the first 10 mins, but my wife's cup finds its way to the microwave with just about every cup
Can't froth the milk without making a cappuccino or latte. The reason I say that is because as soon as you press brew, the machine will begin grinding beans. What you can do is control the amount of frothed milk as well as the amount of coffee by pushing the brew button. Pressing the brew button will start and stop each process (both the froth and the coffee)
@@ASAA-hv2hi what you can do is press and hold the coffee bean selection button for roughly 5 secs until you see a spoon appear. Make sure you do not add any pre-ground to the top section. Then turn your selection dial to cappuccino or latte, then hit brew. This will bypass the bean grinding process. This will allow on frothed milk
Hi Terje, You can not adjust the shutoff time on this machine. You can push the power button when you are done, which will force the self clean and power the machine off. The other option is to leave the machine alone and it will power itself off. However, this may take roughly 15 to 20 mins to power off. Having said that, there is some logic as to why it stays on so long. The top platform also serves as a cup warmer. Not sure that provides a lot of value, but it may help explain why it takes so long
Yuri Weinstein - it does not have specific settings for more or less milk. The cappuccino setting is obviously more coffee less milk, where the latte uses more milk to create a thicker foam and a little less coffee. But there is no specific setting for that one item
I use a Delonghi super automatic with oily Starbucks-beans since 7 years and have zero issues with it. The grinder works perfectly and the espresso tastes delicious. So what?
The temperature on this model cannot be adjusted. I will say they have set the current temperature to a default where it should be consumed as soon as you finish making the cup. I find in a lot of cases my wife is the type of person that makes a cup of coffee and lets it sit for 20 minutes and takes short sips. So the microwave tends to be her best friend when it comes to a cup of coffee. For someone like myself, once I make the cup of coffee I consume it within 15 or 20 minutes. so in short, it is a default temperature made to consume as soon as a cup is made. It is definitely ideal for sure
roland hempel - unfortunately on this machine there is no preset model. You would not be able to set it for 6 a.m. and get up and have your coffee made. I can tell you it is so relatively simple, you can get up in the morning press the power button, choose cappuccino and hit Brew. Go to the bathroom brush your teeth come back out in your coffee is done. I hope this helps
have this machine for about 8 months and is working perfect and the coffee came out is very consistent it was a good investment

use milk from fridge (5 degree celsius is the best), and also use low fat milk for the best results.
Does the milk frothing container come with the machine when you purchase or is it an extra accessory you buy?
It came with the machine
